This shop is great! My uncle has been getting his truck serviced by Scott for years and recommended that I went for my car to get my brakes replaced. Scott was so nice and trustworthy. I ended up needing other very important things that needed to be fixed on my car that I didn't know about. I don't know anything about cars and I thought I just had a crappy car. But after Scott repaired it, it's like new!! My car has never run so smooth since I've bought it, it's like night and day from how it was when I first brought it in. I told Scott that I knew nothing about cars and when to get it regularly serviced and he wasn't condescending at all, like I've experienced at other places and informed me of when to come in next. So disappointed. Called on Friday to have my car checked out they told me to come on Monday morning. I went on Monday today 11/20 and the man at the front told me he doesn't have time that they have to get all the cars out by Wednesday. That's not fair I took off work today and for him to send me away like sorry I don't have time was very disappointing. This morning as I was getting my morning coffee same parking lot I got cussed out for blocking in a technician from pulling out a car. Instead of a simple request of asking me to pull back which I had no problem doing I got a "what the f**** I'm f****ing pulling out." A short older bald skinny man. 20 minutes for a smog check. No appointment, I just walked in pointed at my car asked for a smog check. DONE it Could not have been any easier. -1 star because it seems like the technician adjusted EVERYTHING in my car. Well he probably adjusted the seat because he was short but it felt like he adjusted everything. Definitely would recommend it. read more

Had a pre purchase inspection done here. The report sheet they gave me was haphazardly done, couldn't read most of the hand writing. I ended up buying the car and soon realized the engine oil was over filled all 4 tires were also over filled and the spare tire was only at 9psi when it should be at 60psi. I haven't found any leaks and the vehicle seems to be mechanically sound as they promised that's why I'll still give them 3 stars. For the price they charge for a PPI I expected better. read more

Had my car towed there because it was close to my house. After calling and asking for an update on my car was told it had not been checked by the technician yet. When they did finally checked they quoted me double the price for the part they used and of course the price of labor as per usual. When a shop buys a part they get it at a cheaper price and they don't pay taxes on them. But double the price hike for the car part is unethical and dishonest to say the least. Don't go there unless you want to pay double or triple the price for a car part and get charged extra hours for labor. Even if takes a couple minutes to take a part out, that's an hour charge and to install new part another hour charged. Zero stars if I could. read more

Hi, I just want say a few words about imperial auto repair. I purchase a used Medium size box truck 99 isuzu npr and had The Brakes locking on me. 3 different mechanics were just simple guessing the problem. One said it was alternator pump $250 +$80 Labor , Problem NOT solve. Another said master Cylender+brake booster $300 (used) + $150 labor problem not solve. The 3rd mechanic said the problem was going to the ABS module which is over $1000 bucks. That's when I put a stop to this simple guessing game . I decided to take it to imperial repair shop. I talked to Scott and Hugo about my situation and they were really professional charge me $89 and solved my nightmare. I was so happy I decided to have other repairs done. My experience needs to be known for all customer, so I walked in and an ASIA man that answers the phone looked at my car and up charged me cause I walked in all alone and he tried to scam me reason why - I broke off my passenger side mirror and he wanted to charge me 451!!!!! for the new part and 100 !!!!dollar for labor and the Asia man said it would take him approximately 3 days to fix !!!!! What a joke as a man . So I left and did research and bought the exact part mirror that I need for 70 dollars brand new !!!!!! on EBay can also be found on Amazon and then I went on YouTube and I fixed it and removed it within 20 mins !!! So that man in the front desk was trying to upsell me just because he thought I was a stupid ignorant young lady , please don't take your car there , they don't care about there customers at all and now I learned how to replace my own mirror if I ever hit my mailbox again lol it's was super simple to do all I use was one single screw driver and one plug in because my car is 2016 so it's electronic and I'm not a mechanic I'm a 25 year old girl so if I was able to fix my own well so you can you :) !!! !!!! My car died on the freeway last month (it's been dying a lot lately!), and I ended up at this wonderful gem of a place. Hi everyone, Just wanted to let you guys know, I created a yelp ID just because of Scott at Imperial Repair. I had been leaking oil in my car for weeks and it wasn't getting any better. My friend told be that I should see Scott at Imperial. I don't know much about cars and he could have told me anything and like most people I would just have to pay. Scott let me know that the last person who did an oil change did not tighten the oil filter and that is what was leaking. He did an oil change, charged me $25 and sent me on my way. After I got home I was thinking you guys might want to know about an Honest Auto Repair guy. When faced with a decision to Take the customer for more money or keeping it Real, Scott is the man. He gave me some good tips on keeping my car running good, and let me know that my car was in overall good shape. (that was a relief) The price was very fair, and he was courteous as well. It's conveniently next to the best mexican food place ever, btw (Taco Del Rio) so you can grab a bite to eat while you wait for them to finish servicing your vehicle. One of the best things about this place is their quickness! I think I waited only 30-40 minutes and they were done with my oil change. They even did a tire rotation and topped off all the fluids that were low in my car! DO NOT GO HERE. TOTAL CON. First they did not give us a choice between OEM and aftermarket parts, in our case the aftermarket is actually better quality made of aluminum and cheaper, vs oem is plastic. Second they charged us $550 for an OEM throttle body for our Mini when the OEM part actually costs $170. So they lied. When we called them on it they insisted it was because they only buy OEM and its just better but that is another lie. OEM COSTS HALF WHAT THEY CHARGED US. So basically expect to be lied to and conned. ***This is only what we can prove for a fact. Were we overcharged elsewhere too??? No way to know.*** read more

Ive been going to Imperial Auto for 25 yrs. Scott fixed a problem I had with my car for under $300 Other shops in the area wanted to replace my engine with a used engine or charge me by the hour to trouble shoot and $165 for a diagnostic test . They too probably could have fixed it for under $300 and I would have never known and still charge me for a used engine. I moved to the High Desert 12 years ago and still drive to see Scott for any service my car needs, including warranty maintenance service instead of going to the Kia or Dodge dealer. Scott and Hugo are honest and will tell you what your car needs and if it worth paying for the repair . They wont just put a band aide on your vehicle. They back up their work 100% and are not satisfied unless customer is satisfied. Im glad Scott is a lot younger than me because I dont know where I would go if he wasnt around. I want to start out by saying that the owner/operator of Imperial Auto Repair (SCOTT) is the most honest & ethical mechanic I have ever dealt with! He is straight to the point and is very friendly. Ladies, you will love coming to this place. HUGO is Scott's right hand man, and he is awesome as well. The crew of mechanics are all very capable and professional and will care for your car as if it were their own. Their prices are fair and their service is fast. On a personal note, my family has several vehicles and sometimes I lose track of what work has been done on which vehicle! One day, my wife complained to me about squeeking brakes on our Nissan Quest. I dropped it off in the morning, and less than an hour later I got a call from Scott telling me the van was ready to be picked up... Now, I knew there was no way they had time to do a brake job! My husband's Mercedes stopped on the side of the road around 9:30 at night. We had it towed to this shop simply because it came up on our google maps. We were going to ask the cost for repair (or if they could) in the morning but a nice older lady was just locking up at the time so she let us put our car inside. We were a little worried about how much they might charge since we left our keys and didn't have any quote first but they called bright and early the next morning and gave us a quote and it was good. They had it done that day and even stayed a little late because we couldn't make it out there before they closed. Good service competitive price. Didn't get taken advantage of. Was willing to come to my car after it overheated, diagnose a problem, and even have some coolant on hand so he could take my vehicle to his shop to repair.
