The owner personally reached out to me--even while overseas--to listen to my concerns and make things right. Both he and the project manager communicated clearly and professionally the second time around, and they addressed all of the issues I raised within a week. The craftsmanship was corrected, the cleanup concerns were taken seriously, and I appreciated their willingness to own the missteps and follow through quickly. Not every project goes perfectly, but how a company responds makes all the difference--and in this case, they really stepped up. I'm happy to give them a full five stars for the way they resolved everything.

His…read moreestimate was affordable and we felt assured when he came out to see the project as he commented on what was required according to code (apparently our dilapidated decks were not compliant and none of the other contractors we consulted with made mention of this). Bruce confirmed his availability for install beginning in late October at that time and we coordinated via email as that time approached. Bruce and his team do very great, thorough work. They were all very friendly and trustworthy. We are very pleased with our deck replacements and the dry rot pieces they both identified and replaced on our front support columns. Bruce also hung up our new address numbers for us at the conclusion of the project, which was a big help for us! We did not receive an invoice until the very end of the project (after 3 of 4 payments were made), but did receive one nonetheless. Despite this, we don't have any concern about Bruce and his team coming out to repair anything that should arise. Though, we don't expect that to happen based on the quality work they provided. Their focus is on their craft, not the administrative pieces of the business. I highly recommend Shaffer & Sons and will keep Bruce's contact information should we, our friends, or family members require any work completed in the future.

By the time they left they had broken all of my arbors in my yard by pushing them out of the way and breaking the metal support. How difficult could it have been to ask me to remove them. I would have done it in an instant. I did not want to replace a stretch of the back fence at that time so they failed to attach it to the 4x4 post and left it flopping in the wind. I had to hire help, an additional cost, to correct the problem. I put a review on their website but they only publish five stars reviews. How do these people think they got paid? I sought out several estimates and chose to hire this company to work on my automatic swing gate that had been inoperable for several years. Gio estimate for my job was extremely reasonable. Accepting the invoice and scheduling the job was quick and painless When I called to ask questions Gio was the one I spoke to every time. He answered all my questions about the estimate. He was always kind, understanding and professional each time and I called quite a few times with questions. If he couldn't get my call the first time he would call right back, even without me leaving a message. Day 1 - Gio arrived at my property on time and after going over the job with me his crew got right to work. I appreciate that Gio wore a face mask at all times when discussing the job with me. He briefed his crew and left them to work. He'd be be back to go over their work. The crew knew exactly what they were doing and didn't waste any time getting started with pulling off the doors and removing the inoperable arms and old system.
