Came here for a pressure-treated facia board and wasn't too happy with the customer service. Came into the store and the gentleman at the register did not seem overly pleased to be interacting with anyone. he gave me my ticket for the Callin order I had and didn't say a word I had to ask where am I supposed to go for it and he told me just go to the warehouse. Upon arriving at the warehouse, there wasn't any sign saying where to stop or anything. The gentleman came up, took my ticket and told me to go park in the shade. I immediately rolled up to which was pretty large. After Hanh came up and said I told you to go to the shade and pointed forward in which there was multiple shaded spots. I pulled up to the large shade spot, the driveway off to the side, which seemed like a good loading spot. Apparently that wasn't the shaded spot he was talking about. He referred to a spot right next to the shelf. When I came out of the car, the gentleman looked annoyed being like I told you to go to the shaded spot and I replied there's like five shaded spots you need to be more specific and he just walked away. Parr lumber is my store. Whenever I need any lumber products it's always there. Rigid Carpentry recommends it.

Have to give this place an average rating as we didn't end up purchasing anything here. Called this location as it's a bit of trek to get there. We asked if there was a particular item in stock- didn't want to drive all the way over then realize they didn't have what we were looking for. We were told they had 14 pieces of exactly the type of wood we needed, hooray, we will be there soon! We made the drive over and guess what? The materials we needed magically didn't exist at this location. Be warned that calling and checking on items you need may not be accurate when calling this location! Lesson learned. read more

Was working on home project building out my deck and I needed 28 boards cut to a specific length. Figured this would be a layup for a company sporting a massive "decking billboard" outside their building showcasing 15 different types of deck lumber. Surprisingly, they were unable to help me out. Nice folks inside just shocked they couldn't assist. Maybe more geared towards commercial customers, either way a bad experience for this DIY'er. Ended up placing a call-in order with Home Depot and 24 hours later they wheeled it out to my car for me. read more

I have always heard good things about Parr Lumber. My husband and I have always shopped at Home Depot. Home Depot always has great customer service, tons of options and their lumber is generally in really great condition. When we decided to build a deck we both agreed that we needed to get the best quality lumber for our deck. Parr Lumber was the first that came to mind because they would have the best, right? WRONG! SO VERY WRONG!! My husband called over the phone and went in to check things out a few times and every time the customer service staff they chose to employ was so rude, acted like he wasn't worth their time, treated him like an idiot because he didn't know all the lingo. It was finally when he went to order in person that he got a really nice man ( I wish that he remembered his name ) He went above and beyond to help explain things and show my husband in person. We even got free delivery which was awesome because we did not have a way to get all of the lumber to our house. That was the only good experience with deciding to purchase at Parr Lumber. This is where it gets messy. We get our order just as they promised, however looking through it after we got it was horrific. Just so you know, $2,500 worth of cedar gets you tons of split lumber and DRY ROT!!!! SO MUCH DRY ROT!! We were literally poking our fingers into the bottom of the cedar boards. We had insane splits a foot+ on the top of boards, bottoms of boards, sides of boards. After looking through half the pallet we gave up and my husband went in to return it. Their manager said it is very typical to have split and as homeowners, we have purchased tons of lumber in the last 4 years, we have NEVER seen lumber in this poor of shape, let alone boards that cost $40.00/ea. Splits, I get to an extent, however this was insane. He also totally ignored the fact that these boards were covered in dry rot. Yet, this is typical and we will find it everywhere. HA. They did agree to come to pick it up after my husband arguing the fact that we did not have a trailer or box truck to bring it back and honestly we should not have to bring it back with how they wasted our entire weekend plans of installing our deck. Their manager told us to go back to Home Depot after he told him that is where were usually get our lumber but we wanted to give Parr a chance ... Thanks for wasting our time and efforts Parr Lumber. I hope you figure out how to source quality worth selling and hire better employees. read more

I am a licensed contractor and purchased some lumber and misc supplies this morning. Upon reviewing my order I asked if I was given the contractor discount and was informed "YES". Unfortunately, I was not given the contractors discount thus I paid "inflated off the street pricing". IE Vulkem Gray 116 Sealant. Parr $6.99 EA Lowes price $6.43 EA My total was $1778.52 with a "Sales Type" on the invoice of "Regular Sale (R) The salesman turned to the lady next to him to confirm that I had received the contractor pricing when I questioned whether I had. She looked at the invoice and chose to be ethical and did not respond to his query. I will be taking my future business elsewhere. Don read more

The professionals at Parr always take good care of me. I am not a Pro or even an expert home DIY person, but I do buy wood and other supplies often. The small, personal store service at Parr is SOOO much better than the big box stores. The people in the stores know their stuff and take the time to explain things very well. I live about a half mile from this Parr Lumber location. My wife just went in to get some bed slats cut and, to make a long story short, eventually requested her money back and left with nothing. I'm prompted to write this because of the ridiculous way she was treated while there. Neither my wife nor I get ruffled easily and usually ignore rudeness. But "Daisy" at the front desk warrants this post. Could hardly have been ruder in her tone and treatment of my wife. I won't go into all the details, but after my wife was belittled by Daisy and was ignored by *every* worker there, she gave up. Daisy assumed my wife knew that she had to wait in the back while the cuts were being made and was annoyed when my wife asked, eventually, if the work was being done. After walking out back, not a single worker (there were three) acknowledged her. After a bit, when inquiring to two different workers if they were working on her order, they simply said "No" and walked on. Thus, between being berated by Daisy and ignored by everyone else, she got her money back (which Daisy did not like) and said she'd go elsewhere. What a great experience. My partner and I know nothing about building . We decided we want a deck and ventured in to see our options. It was a Saturday and we thought they would be too busy to help but we were wrong. Everyone was friendly and cheerful especially Kori. She answered all of our questions and sent us on our way with a quote , samples and literature. We have now made our decision. For over 35 years I have been a Parr customer, buying tens of thousands of dollars of goods there. Even though the prices area bit higher than some of the "big box" stores, I always prefer to support a local business. Last night, I needed one small item. It was almost five o'clock, so I drove as quickly as possible to Parr only to pull in to the lot as they locked the door. I ran to the door, and the guy was still there, but he just shook his head and walked away. The cash register is very close to the door, and another employee was at the register, so I got his attention and signaled that I just needed one item. He saw me, but just turned away. Now that is crap customer service. They don't seem to need my business any more, so they won't be getting it. read more

Without question the worst customer service ever. How are they still in business? Is zero stars an option? Negative stars? I tried to return a work vest that I found out I couldn't wear due to an IV port I have installed in my chest. I wore it for 1 day and loved it but after rubbing on the port all day there was no way I could keep it. The man behind the counter, regrettably I didn't get his name, refused to accept the return. The reasons he repeatedly gave was "This item is no good to me" "I don't need this". " I've already got one" "It's not in its original packaging". ( which it never came in when I bought it). How are any of those my problems? Is the store not supposed to stand behind their products? Is keeping the customer happy no where in their business plan? I have spent literally thousands of dollars at Parr. No more. Too many other company's around that care about customer satisfaction. And cheaper too. read more

I come to this store only as a last resort. They sell (meaning charge you for) material that they don't have. Twice now, I have asked for specific lumber in specific lengths, been charged, then discover that they don't have that item on hand. The credit to your account takes days, while the charge hits immediately. Parr has never impressed me with their customer service, their slogan "go where the builders go" really should be changed to reflect the fact that if you're not a builder, they really don't want your money. I've had much better luck with the NW location, but I really wish there were more alternatives in my area to Parr Lumber. read more

I go to Parr Lumber instead of the big box stores because they offer lumber that is ten times better for the same, or sometimes low price. Anyone who has done any remodeling know what a pain it is to get 2x4s that are curved like a hockey stick and that is why it is best to skip Home Depot and Lowes. Plus the people that work there know what they're talking about so I can trust the answer they give to my questions. read more
