This was incredible from the second we walked in until we walked out. The building itself is in a beautiful place in a nice area of town. There was plenty of close in, well maintained and well lit parking. It was snowy and cold outside but nice and warm inside. The restaurant itself is immaculate inside. They clearly pride themselves on maintenance and cleanliness. I really enjoyed the large fish tank full of beautiful fish. That is also, clean and well maintained. Our server, a lovely Chinese woman simply could not have been more pleasant or accommodating. She took our drink orders as soon as we set down then our food orders when she returned with our drinks. They had a shrimp lo mein I wanted plus a shrimp curry. I asked if they could combine curry into my shrimp lo mein and they did so, gladly. That is always a good sign when I can go off menu and the chef is happy to do it. The sweet and sour soup as well as the egg drop soup were first rate. My curry shrimp lo mein was mouth watering and smelled awesome. This place is a guest rate Asian restaurant and we will be returning soon. My meal last night ( 1-29-25 @ approximately 6:15 p.m) it was very disappointing. I ordered general tso's chicken and a medium hot and sour soup take out. Usually the food here is pretty good. Tonight it was obvious that the food had been sitting in a warmer for some time and was not prepared fresh to order. It seems suspicious that food is ready for takeout in less than 5 minutes. Could not eat the entire meal, due to the poor quality. Very sad that you paid $20 and have to throw it in the trash! read more

My go to for Chinese food! Always hot and delicious, with tender meat and crisp vegetables, just the way I like it. I do miss the rolling of the Mu Shu at the table, but they are delicious either way. Servings are very generous! read more

They do offer large portions and reasonable prices but the quality was not there for us. My orange chicken was mostly breading and very sweet, lacking spice. After hearing great reviews from a few people, we ordered delivery tonight. First, our order was late. I called Imperial Garden and was told repeatedly 2-3 times "driver on way" with no explanation or apology. In the directions I written to "ring the bell and set the order on the chair on the porch". The driver rang twice, waiting for us to answer. Our front porch is currently secure with a dog fence and gate because we have a "runner". The driver waited until the door was answered leaving the gate open, handed the box over, my husband realized our dog was trying to escape, the driver just stood there despite being told to please close the gate more than once. So off our dog goes. So we ended up following her (this is a game for her, and very scary for us) for a good 20 minutes before a neighbor walking helped get her. The prices were very reasonable, the quantity of the food was plentiful, but the food was tasteless. We ordered shrimp eggrolls, they were okay; small sweet and sour soup--my husband said it was awful; crab cheese wontons were fair; the main dishes were cashew chicken and shrimp with vegetables. I was pleased to have a variety of vegetables in the shrimp dish. However, each dish's sauces we could quickly detect cornstarch; in fact in many bites I got globs of cornstarch, spitting them out. It was gross making the lack of taste even worse. I was looking forward to finding a new Chinese restaurant but this was a major fail. read more

We've been ordering from here for 10 years. Got a flyer that it's under new management. Thought we'd give it a try. It's a no -go for us. Flavors of all items have completely changed. Sesame chicken was mainly breading, very small pieces so I'm sure no chicken at all. Mongolian beef was very thin meat, almost ground beef like and very peppery with tons of onion, yet lacked flavor. This place used to be delicious but they are now under new management and the quality has gone WAY downhill. The Mongolian beef is mostly onion with small little tiny pieces of steak, no flavor. With my wife away, I ordered delivery this Valentine's Day evening for myself and my kids. Food was pretty good.however, I ordered among other things, one lo mein, and one combo fried rice. My one daughter only likes rice, so she was disappointed, and given it was a long wait for the delivery, I just figured something else out for her. Food was delivered and we never received any notice that it had arrived. My order was updated as delivered 25 minutes after it had been left on the front porch. Given that the temp was 0 degrees outside, we had to warm everything. I wasn't super impressed by this restaurant. There weren't any other customers in the restaurant when we were there for dinner hours. I shoulda took that as a sign. The lady who took our order was nice but she had a hard time taking our order. Which were just basic items off the menu. I ordered the garlic tofu with fried rice. There was barely any tofu and a whole plate of raw onions. No vegetables or nothing. It was cold too :-/ My daughter ordered a small side of plain lo mein to go with her orange chicken instead of rice. Well, we got a whole separate order of it and charged an extra $12 for that when we were expecting it to be part of her meal. I keep telling everyone that this place is american Chinese food stepped up a couple notches. I haven't tried that much off the menu yet, but the hot and sour soup is one of the best I've had, and the lo mein was surprisingly flavorful. I've already recommended this place to a few friends in the area. Especially compared to a lot of other American Chinese joints in denver, this place has way better flavor. read more

I ordered takeout from this little restaurant. The GOOD: The order was ready on time. The BAD/UGLY: I ordered basic Chinese food staples---shrimp fried rice and egg drop soup. Both items were meh at best. I've never had such bland Chinese food. The rice had no flavor or real color. The egg drop soup had no taste as well. If I had not picked the items up on my way home I would have returned them, that is how terrible they were. I've never considered returning take out. You can't beat the lunch special here! You have over 10 choices of entrée that comes with a choice of soup with a cream cheese wonton AND an egg roll. More than enough food and only $7-8! The staff is incredibly friendly and took excellent care of myself and my grandmother. We got the Kon Pao Chicken and the Sesame Chicken. The cream cheese wonton was our favorite part of the meal. I've been coming to Imperial Garden for probably 20 years now for several reasons. First of all, it's owned and run by a very nice chinese family. When you walk in to the restaurant you hear orders from the kitchen being barked out in chinese. It makes me feel like I am in south east Asia .Fong runs the front of the business and her husband runs the kitchen. She and her wait staff are very helpful and did I mention friendly? I find the hot and sour soup among the best in town. The crispy egg rolls are a tasty partner to the soup. Their portions are generous and their lunch menu are a bargain. The also do a brisk take out business. Next time you have a "yen" for chinese, give my friends at Imperial Garden a try! read more

The food was not half bad, after re-heating everything. It took over 90 minutes to arrive, and I called them at about 50 minutes to inquire about my order, and the said the driver was en route, almost there. 45 minutes later, he arrived, and was a fairly surly and impolite teenager, possibly high as a kite. Everything was stone cold. Maybe he spent the prior hour getting baked. Also, it took about four repetitions of every item to get the phone receptionist to process what I was ordering. I'm not an English bigot in the slightest, but she was pathetic, couldn't speak a word, not even soup or rice. The long and short of it is that the service is absolutely appalling. The food was decent, but everything else totally sucked -- the time it took, the stone cold dishes, the idiocy of the phone lady, the attitude of the stoner delivery boy. Orange chicken was delicious, fresh, great big hunks of chicken. The chicken fried rice is great for our children for they split the meal! Egg drop soup the entire family loves! Lady on the phone tried to say the "chef". Changes ingredients sometimes. I told her I order this soup all the time and it never looks like this. Then she tried to accuse me of lying. I said I wanted to speak to a manager. She said she was the manager. I said I want my money refunded or the soup I ordered delivered. She said a new soup would be on its way. The soup never arrived. We've been eating here forever--20+ years!--and it's consistently good and fairly priced. They offer traditional Chinese dishes like Lo Mein and Happy Family, along with some Thai and curry dishes. The ingredients are very fresh and the food is always tasty with plentiful portions. There is never a wait for a table and their take out is fast and efficient. We've only had them deliver a few times as the restaurant is close to our house, but we had no problems with delivery either. The person on the phone was very patient when I asked about ingredients for special dietary needs (vegan) and they were good to customize the food as we asked. We ordered orange tofu and sweet and sour tofu, and fried rice without egg. All the food was hot and flavorful and the portions were large enough we had leftovers. We found our new Chinese place!
