The Rochester Colonial team was highly skilled, professional, and incredibly respectful of my home. Unlike other contractors I've used in the past, they used plastic barriers to wall off the work area so dust and dirt didn't spread throughout the house. They paid attention to every detail and even mopped the floor before leaving. The craftsmanship, professionalism, and customer care exceeded my expectations. A salesman at the local office filled out a Application to open a business COD account for my business and HE SIGNED my name! This was done without my permission or knowledge. This was also done after i specifically told the salesman i was staying with my current supplier and not switching to his company. This was done while the salesman was on COMPANY time. Furthermore the manager admitted that this was done by his salesman!!! The manager stated to me in voicemail and to local police officer that "was a misunderstanding and will delete account" Typical Corporation management sweeping everything under the rug and "no big deal" attitude. Have it all in written documents, emails, texts and voicemails. Police report filed. BBB complaint, Attorney general consumer fraud department, SRS corporate office and Attorney to file suit will be coming Monday Morning. This is NOT legal or how business is conducted!

There is a book, "Enshittification" by Cory Doctorow, describing the process wherein corporations first appeal to customers, then vendors, then employees, finally becoming indifferent to all, entering their "Extractive" phase, benefittting only shareholders. The book cites Amazon, but same with Lowes: all part of American decline. Remember when I would put up with lack of service for 'warehouse' price advantages -- which are no longer available. In 10 years these horrid stores will probably be replaced by data centers. Now 80, I will presumably be dead by then -- fortunately. I will try and live a useful, compassionate rest of life, as I assume a basic difference between heaven and hell is the absence or presence of such places as Lowes.

I am very disappointed with my experience at 84 Lumber last weekend. I went there hoping to find…read morebetter-quality materials and more professional and knowledgeable employees than I typically encounter at the local big-box stores. Unfortunately, neither was the case. The pressure-treated boards are stored outside in the parking lot, and the majority of the boards I looked at were bent and twisted. I purchased a couple hundred dollars' worth of pressure-treated lumber from 84 Lumber, but chose to purchase the rest from Home Depot. I'm very happy that I did. I also special-ordered a small amount of Trex decking and asked if it could be cut into shorter lengths so I could transport it more easily. I was told that this would be no problem, but that cuts could only be made in 1-foot increments. I was also told the material would take approximately a week to arrive. After waiting a week, I went to the store to check on the order and was told that the order had never actually been placed and that I would have to wait another week. I had taken a week off from work specifically to build this deck, so this mistake delayed the completion of my project by another week or more. I eventually received a voicemail saying the material had arrived and was ready for pickup. I went to the store on Saturday morning, only to find that the material had not been cut yet. Two of the boards I ordered were 20 feet long. I understand that decking boards are often slightly oversized, so I asked if they could be cut in half at 120.5 inches so I would have two 10-foot boards, which was what my project required. I was told no because store policy only allowed cuts in 1-foot increments. Unfortunately, the employee making the cuts also had a very poor attitude and, in my opinion, went out of his way to do a careless job. I will be attaching pictures showing the different cut lengths from this order. While the cuts were being made, I asked another employee whether the special-color-matched deck screws required pre-drilling and, if so, what drill-bit diameter was recommended. He told me the recommended pre-drill size was 1.875 inches. He was otherwise very nice and courteous, but that answer was obviously questionable and did not inspire confidence in the product knowledge at the store. Maybe you will have a better experience if you are a contractor doing a lot of business with them, but as a DIY homeowner, my experience was extremely disappointing. Based on this experience, I would recommend that other homeowners consider shopping elsewhere. I expected better quality, better communication, and better customer service from 84 Lumber. Unfortunately, I did not get any of the three.

We ordered a 30" x 80 framed solid wood door. The girl on the phone asked my husband what size…read moredoor he wanted and gave him their product number for it (nothing that meant anything to him and nothing that indicated she had gotten the order accurately). When it was delivered, it was a 32" door. When he called about it, he was told that they would order us a 30" door for half price delivered. BUT...no take backs and no credit for their mistake. Take your chances...make sure they get your order right or you will eat it! Oh, and then I called and left Mr. Matthews a message but no return call.

I already got hired at three different jobs which I'm going to work all three cuz I'm a beast like that. 2 part times and a full time. At least 2 of them I'm taking for sure. but I want my back pay. Don't ever work for Isiah Bingham or his dad or that lumber yard they suck! After 10 months of all the overtime I worked in extra work I put in when no one else did And I couldn't even get a single dollar raise or even over any sick days or vacation. If there ever was a company that operated not by the books it's them. I swear I don't even think they have a book to go by. Either that or they lie on all their paperwork. And they should be safety audited. I got injured pretty much everyday because of unsafe working conditions and poor training. They treat their employees like crap and the other employees treat each other like crap and swear and yell and are completely unprofessional. I worked hard. Meanwhile, the lead on the truss table is always on his phone gets to take however many paid days off He wants and takes as long of breaks as he wants without any repercussions. He does not lead and he does not train or answer questions from his co-workers, just greets them with disrespect and arrogance. I voiced my concerns on safety and the mistreatment of each other there and was only met with confrontation and my supervisor even put his fists up and threatened me and told me to shut my mouth.
