On April 21, 2026, T&S came to my home to do the yearly maintenance on my furnace. While they were…read morehere, I asked them to look at a slow leak I had in the heating piping system. The tech reviewed it with me and said he would let the office know what was involved. The leak was coming from a high point vent which would require very little labor and the only material would be the high point vent itself. I spoke with Jordan from their office and she told me the estimate was for $590.00 plus tax. I made a point to say that the estimate sounded really high for what needed to be done and Jordan said there was much more material and labor involved then I was seeing. I told Jordan I would want to see exactly what was being replaced and track the labor time while the tech was here doing the repair and we scheduled the repair. May 6, 2026, the tech arrived at 12:10PM, he went to the area and confirmed that the repair was just the replacement of the high point vent itself, and he was done and back in his truck at 12:50PM. A week later I received the bill for the full $590.00 plus tax, I called and spoke with Jordan who said that I had agreed to the price when I scheduled the work, I told her that's not how I remembered it and regardless the tech was here for less than an hour and only used one small high point vent so the $590.00 plus tax was really high and I asked to speak with the owner. Jordan called me back to let me know the bill had been reduced to $230.50 plus tax which I felt more accurately reflected the work that was actually performed. Jordan made a point to say that there would be a note in my file moving forward where I would have to agree in writing with the estimate before any further work would be performed, I stated I was not happy with this and that, if the original estimate had been accurate in the first place this issue would not have happened. I again asked to speak with the owner and to date I have not heard back from anyone. Jordan was somewhat confrontational and did not in any way try to resolve the issue. I have been a customer of T&S for approximately 9 years without any issues like this before. I know they were either recently bought out or merged with another company so beware if you are having work done to make sure you fully understand the scope and advocate for yourself regarding pricing. It is a shame to have to do this as I deal with many service companies and rarely ever have issues like this. On the rare occasion there is a conflict between pricing and the actual work the other companies I deal with reevaluate the work and corresponding bill and adjust accordingly without any attitude and/or statements that I'm going to have to accept their pricing in the future whether or not I agree with it. I will be looking for other options for fuel oil, maintenance, repairs and installations in the future...

The company has adopted the tech to keep in touch with their customers which makes planning an appointment and the arrival of the work person an excellent experience for the customer. Today I worked with Matt and Giacomo (John) and was not at all surprised that they worked neatly and efficiently. We had them run ethernet cable and remove a EcoFlow product. If I had to guess they will be in business a long time if they keep this level of service and professionalism.

He proceeds to tell me that they came out last year for a quote I corrected him cuz it was not last year . And then he very aggressively said well you're going to get it done this time though right ? Which already brought me the wrong way . Then he's asking me a bunch of questions about why I'm getting my boiler replaced and it's like dude just tell me how much the replacement is going to be that's all I want to know like you're here to give me a number not an interrogation. Hey then proceeds to ask me when I plan to get it done and I told him 30 days . His response was well why not today . Considering he came in a hatchback I didn't think he was equipped to come to do the job today but I wanted to get it done in 30 days . So I just repeat no 30 days because at this point I am getting frustrated with him . So he repeats why not today . So I hand him his business card back and apologize for him having to come all the way out here and asked him to leave . He tried to give me his card back after I just handed it back to him and asked him to leave and wanted to continue the conversation. I had to basically walk him to his car . My business is not his business I said 30 days I have nobody else that came to give me a quote was so intrusive or invasive and I don't know if it was because he's trying to sell me something or because I'm a woman but it immediately put me off and made me feel very uncomfortable. Thankfully I was able to find a company who can come out when I need them to come out for $3,000 less than their old quote was from 2 years ago . So if you want to be interrogated and overcharged then I guess this is the company for you .

They apparently neglected to replace the oil filter and we had to call in an emergency repair service when our boiler stopped working, which also cost hundreds of dollars. The repair person today said they probably didn't replace the filter because it was so clogged it was difficult to remove and they didn't want to bother. Obviously, we'll never be using Cromwell to service our boiler again.

Despite asking Valley Oil to come deliver to us at 1/4 of a tank, they insist that their monthly schedule would accommodate that. We have run dangerously low on oil all winter. Not to mention, the almost $700 bill to fill the tank has caused financial hardship on our family. My youngest daughter & I have been more than accommodating; going without oil, shoveling designated paths from the street... If us women can handle walking up the driveway & taking care of this then I would hope the workers from Valley Oil would be able to do the same.
