Another terrible review for this dealership. They contacted ME because I have a leased Santa Fe and my lease was coming to an end. They wanted to get me into a new lease. Great! I want to be in a new lease for a new Santa Fe. There should be no problem, right? Well, I explained that one contingency would be that I have one car too many. So what I would like to do is sell them my Kia, turn in my old Santa Fe, and lease a new one. A little bit complex, but still not a big deal and they seemed amenable to this. The first person i dealt with collected a bunch of information. Had me send pictures of all the cars Vin numbers, blah blah blah, which I did. But after two weeks, we did not have any numbers. The whole thing became ridiculous. And they wanted me to run a credit check etc without giving me any sort of numbers to work with numbers like how much they were going to pay me for my existing car, and how much they were going to charge me as a base Price to calculate the new lease. I don't know about you, but if I'm selling a car, I want somebody to tell me how much they're going to pay for it . Similarly if I am going to buy a car. I want them to tell me the Price. They are going to charge me for the car itself (I was not asking for the monthly payment, rather the price of the new car). Well, when we finally spoke on the phone, some sales person hung up on me. When I told him that if they couldn't provide me this information, there was no need for me to run a credit check because I need numbers to work with to evaluate whether or not. I'm getting a good deal. But, the guy hung up on me. I sent a letter to the parent company and all the presidents, BP, etc. Somebody called back from the dealership and we're very apologetic Another flurry of texts went by. However, they would not tell me how much they were planning on paying for my Kia. Nor what they tell me how much they were charging me for the new Santa Fe. I suspect it's because they did not want to give me that information. Of course that's information that I would need to determine whether or not I was making a good deal for myself. I mean maybe they were going to pay me a couple grand less than Carmax. Maybe they were gonna try and charge me sticker Price or above. I don't know and I will never know because they absolutely refused to give me those two pieces of information. What they wanted to do was give me a deal and tell me what my monthly cost would be. But that's not a very good basis for evaluation. If you can't tell me what you're gonna pay me for my car and how much I am going to pay for a new vehicle, you're probably not creating a deal. That's in my best interest. These are bits of information that anybody has a right to know. Oh, and did I mention that this all took place over literally dozens texts over the course of three weeks? What a scammy way to do business. Anybody who won't give you the specifics about a transaction and Tells you just to "trust" them, that you will be satisfied with the deal is not booking out for your best interests. I don't think anybody in this company or their parent company cares very much about what is happening in their sales floor. But if they do, I am more than happy to show them all of the texts. I inquired on line about a Hyundai Kona, and through text made an appointment to drive 3 hours from Anza to look at and maybe purchase this car. I arranged for financing through my credit union. We arrived at El Centro, and was texted to ask for Belen. We even had a confirmation email this morning confirming our 11:15am appointment. Upon arrival we met Belen, who looked on her computer, and said she was going to get the car. (Surprised that it wasn't waiting for us) 15 minutes later she comes back with a Honda, for 3,000 more, and tells us that it was sold the day before!!! Needless to say, we were furious. Talked to Rafa, the so called supervisor, who told me that if we had put down a deposit, they could have held it. Nobody EVER mentioned that, and Belen had said that sales were "first come, first served". She had also told us that there were several used Kona's on site, but Rafa said there weren't any more Kona's. DON'T EVER DO BUSINESS WITH THEM!!! read more

Be very cautious of any dealer that lies to you. These guys tried to lie to me and tell me that all these extra accessories items were factory installed even though they were not listed on the window sticker from the manufacturer. Don't trust the price you see on the site. It will always be around $3k more than what's is listed for "Factory installed accessories" . This is typical scummy dealer practices. First off, anything installed from the factory would be on the window sticker. Not an addendum or extra sticker. This is typical dealer installed junk that they overprice. Then they do things like charge $500 for nitrogen fill. Did you know that you can buy a 20 lbs tank of nitrogen, get it filled, buy the regulator and fill gauge for less than $500? and that 20 lbs tank will fit the 4 tires 8 times over? They are basically charging you $500 for about $5 worth of nitrogen. And don't get me started on the BS overprices theft deterrence items. Avoid this place if you can. Very greedy dealer read more

My experience with IV Hyundai did not start well. First a sales person (Chris) took my info and told me he was selling me an Elantra Hybrid. He was going to have another representative call me back but that never happened. I figured out when I called back that the vehicle he said he had for me was not actually available so instead of calling back he just never entered me or my request in their sales system. I called back later and spoke with Lindsey who tried to help. She put me in contact with sales managers Jesse and Rafael. In the end I was passed to internet sales Rick. After some back and forth and lots of constant pressuring from Rick to make sure he got an excellent survey after, a vehicle was earmarked from their order manifest for me. The car was delayed, but understandably, these were issues out of the control of the dealership. The vehicle arrived on the 1st and I went yesterday to get it. I received a credit application from Rick via email and started the process. I was told by Rick that they (IV Hyundai) would shop around for the best interest rate. Let me tell you about disappointment. I had been shopping for a replacement vehicle since May. I was drawn to IV Hyundai after I researched and found they did not mark up vehicles. DON'T BE FOOLED BY THIS!! They make their money in other ways. I did my job and negotiated the best price for me. When it finally came in I was told by my sales person Rick M. that they would "shop around" for the best interest rate. When I arrived at this dealership Rick introduced himself and within a matter of minutes again reminded me that he needed a perfect survey for all he was doing for me. I reminded Rick that I was a man of my word and when the transaction was completed that I would send a deserving survey. WELL HERE IT IS! I was told verbally by Rick that I was looking at a rate close to 3.9%. When I went to finance I was told my credit score was over 800, but, because I had shared that I was only financing some of the vehicle cost to help my daughter establish credit, THEY decided for me that the interest rate was not important and went to the corporate Hyundai finance at 5.64%. When I brought this to finance, Tony's attention, he told me that in order to shop it now they would have to keep running my credit. Despite the fact that they finance all of the time and know which offer the lowest rates for customers, they did not make an effort. When Rick came to get me from finance and deliver the vehicle I let him know I was upset that the rate was not shopped around. He acted surprised and this is when the lack or accountability and finger pointing began. Rick kept claiming it was not his responsibility to secure the finance rate. Tony said he did not get the finance package until right before I walked in and the rate was already locked. Rick very arrogantly told me, well then refinance it. I reminded Rick of my promise to give them the review they deserved. I made sure he recalled when I told him I am a person of my word and When I say I will do something that I will follow through. Also that I am going to hold you accountable for the things you say you will do. At this point I reminded Rick that he(a representative of the dealership) did NOT follow through with your offer to shop around for the best rate. You know that to be true. Tony in finance admitted it as well. It is not your companies decision to say it is fine because we are paying it off. There is so much wrong with the lack of communication on your dealerships end and it started from the get go with my effort to secure a vehicle. Everyone points at one another when it went wrong. Now because you put me in this position I feel it is my responsibility to let others know and to be warned so they do not get run over like you tried to do me. I hope this review helps educate the public to make sure others are not put into a bad situation as well or that maybe you will change your business tactics and be honorable to your word. Oh, and lastly, be prepared, when I voiced my displeasure with Rick about his lack of follow through and accountability, I started receiving text messages from him about being angry and aggressive. He then turned to religion and sent me messages reference prayer and Jesus. This is a totally inappropriate barrage of text messages. read more

First of all, don't buy Hyundai. It's a terrible car with bad engines that will eventually fail, and I'm talking from experience. If you don't believe me just Google it. Even though the powertrain warranty was extended to 150,000 and 15 years, they still won't honor the warranty. Their service advisors will just keep giving you the run around, and you have no choice but to keep pouring money into the car. For example, I took my 2015 Hyundai in with check engine light problem in Nov. '24 and was told I needed to remove and replace the spark plugs, which I did. Five months later and less than 5,000 miles traveled, I bring the car in for a burning smell. Again, I was told I needed to remove and replace the spark plugs along with a complete fuel service cleaning. Why wasn't the first job of removing and replacing the spark plugs under warranty? I was told it was because of the gasoline I was using. It was contaminated. Can you believe these excuses? Absolutely ridiculous, but they don't care. Horrible service. After the work is done, you receive a text saying Hyundai pride themselves on delivering world class customer service and type NO if you do not agree, and they will call you back to rectify the issue. Unfortunately, they never call back. The general manager, Mike Patel, invites you to email him on the IV Hyundai website, but he doesn't respond either. I guess the tone is set at the top. World class service, indeed. So, unless you enjoy being ripped off and humiliated at a car dealership, do not buy Hyundai and do not go to Imperial Valley Hyundai. You will thank me later. read more

The service department is horrible. Sorry to put you all on blast but the service is abysmal. I stood there in this pathetic trailer, waited 30 minutes just to drop off my car, was only told 8 words in 30 minutes. No apology for keeping me waiting. Their system sucks. There was another customer who had a new issue after a service was done and Hyundai took no responsibility and insisted the customer had to schedule another appointment and pay to have it fixed. Took 8+ hours for my oil change even though I scheduled the appointment ahead of time. Absolutely abysmal. By the way, not only does the service sucks. The cars suck. 60k miles into my hybrid and the MPG dropped from 50 to 40 MPG. Don't buy these crap cars. The 10 year 100k mile warranties barely get honored especially from this dealership service department. Don't get ripped off folks. read more

Literally the worst customer service I have experienced in a while. I filled out an application for a used car, sent pictures of my trade in vehicle, on the phone back and forth for hours. They kept me going just to tell me the car I was about to buy was sold. I'm literally in the process of buying the vehicle and they sold it to someone else. They do not care about YOU! They will con you and lie to you just to get your hard earned money. That's all that matters, is money. Disgusting people at this place. Thanks Edmundo for wasting my time. I took my car in for a problem it had. Service advisor Abraham said it was recommended for my car to get the service it needed too. I said ok. It took them 11 days for them to tell me they were done with my car. When I received my car, I checked it at home. The technician name is Gilbert. * my car went in with 27036 miles and got out with 29,802 miles. they didn't do an oil change, air filter is clogged up, cabin filter missing, washer fluid not done, wheels not rotated & much more. if they didn't do this how would I even know if they even did the main job my car went in for. How is this ok giving me my car with what said was supposed to be "done". We are going to take the car back today with joe Rivera and see what happens now. read more

I loved every single thing about this dealership. I called them in the afternoon after I had tirelessly been car shopping for a palisade and many other SUV's. Denise was so kind and answered all my questions and had a quote for me quickly. In a time like right now where it's almost impossible to find a palisade. (I was calling all around even in different states). I was at the point where I was going to just keep driving my husband to work because I couldn't wrap my head around all the markups other dealers had (10k!!!). I then started to work with Tony who explained different coverages and add-ons, and I never once felt pressured to purchase them, once again another extremely kind person. Jesse was also great, a straight shooter, worked fast and to the point, really wonderful and personable! Jose was easy to work with, so friendly and they were juggling a lot of customers and never once did he let any of them feel forgotten. You can tell this dealership is full of hardworking and honest employees. I know that someone reading this could think "well they are salesmen that's what's they are supposed to do"...not the case, so many other dealerships took advantage of the fact there is a shortage of cars and would basically brush off the thought of giving any reasonable quote...one dealership even told me good luck finding a deal like the one Imperial Hyundai gave me. I personally hates buying cars, and dealing with car salesmen- as they usually get the bad rep of ripping people off, especially salesmen in the valley. That's not a myth, it's a fact and that's why people in imperial are driving all the way to San Diego or LA to buy their cars instead of staying in the valley. I came here to purchase my lease, and my salesman was Mr Luis Rey, he made the process simple and easy for me. Being 9 months pregnant I really hate going anywhere, never the less a car dealership. Everyone at this dealership is so energetic, sweet and nice! They actually seem like a team of people that actually enjoys working! I was in n out in no time and everything was made very stright for ward for me. The financial guy Marco was also extremely helpful. Please is clean, and with positive vibes. Four days later I get the 'canned' response you see below- supposedly from the owner... no sir- I called the business - took 'Greg' at his word- he wanted to make it right.... The employee who answered the phone didn't even know who Greg was. He asked the people on the floor- they didn't know who he was. Is Greg just a Bot that they use answer Yelp? They do all seem to be the same script... it would be funny if it weren't for the fact that we still have a broken Hyundai 2020 Sonata Hybrid and we have to find time to go out of town to get it looked at. I was very skeptical about bringing my car here but honestly if you guys have never worked in the car industry you don't understand how hard and busy it can be especially when your the only Hyundai in the valley so when coming here show a little respect and gratitude or drive to San Diego or Arizona . Eddy was very helpful my car was there for 2 days for 3 recalls and a oil change and eddy went out of his way and had a mechanic look at other issues the car had like a noise and I wasn't even charged he did let me know how much it would be once I decided to bring it back and that right there made me feel more comfortable because he obviously could have charged me but he didn't like most dealers do. So I will be bringing it back to fix the other issues the car has. My only thing is that I think the owner should build the service advisors an outside office and not store them in a trailer that looks very tacky and unprofessional, yes it hard to reach them sometimes but realize there are only 2 service advisors dealing with cars from calexico to westormorland and niland and probably beyond have some patience . read more

I can say this is the first time I've ever posted a five star review for a car dealership. My experience was with the Service Department (Santiago). I want to thank Imperial Valley Hyundai for making a difficult situation as painless as possible. In Early May 2021, I was driving between Arizona and California. Halfway in between, my relatively new 2020 Hyundai began making noises and screeching and losing power. I GPS'd the closest Hyundai Dealership, and took my car there. It died at the dealership as I rolled into Imperial Valley Hyundai in El Centro. I got a hotel for the night and had them look at it first thing in the AM. The dealership with Santiago as my Service Advisor, quickly diagnosed the issue, and determined the worst... the year old transmission was faulty and needed to be replaced. They gave me a loaner car (a really nice one at that!) and said they'd call in a week or so when my car's transmission was replaced. As many know, there's a major global shortage of cars and car parts due to a disruption in the supply chain, so I wasn't shocked when they called and let me know the transmission was backordered by a month (which turned into a month and a half) so I was to keep the loaner car during that time. Santiago kept me in the loop and communicated throughout the whole process. Of course it was covered under warranty, and I don't fault the dealership for the two months without my car. I'm working with Hyundai Consumer Affairs for some sort of compensation because ultimately being without my car for two months is their issue. The dealership did everything in their power to expedite the process. I have nothing but positive things to say about Imperial Valley Hyundai. Sadly I don't use them as my home dealership since I live 400 miles away, but I gladly recommend them to anyone. looking for sales\service dealership in the El Centro Area. The service department is horrible here starting with the service manager Edward and service advisor Abraham. I contacted the service department to make an appointment for repairs. The day I drop off vehicle they said they will be running diagnostics and call me with a response. Abraham calls me and stated they can't find the issue but that in 2 days someone will be able to check the vehicle and find out what the issue is. A whole week passes by and I come to find out they still have not done anything to my vehicle and its just sitting at the shop. I personally spoke to Edward (service manager) and him and Abraham (service advisor) are just laughing on the phone when I make my concerns known. The only thing Edward kept repeating was "There's nothing I can do for you.. what do you want me to do?". They do not take responsibility for their lack of professionalism and lack of respect towards customers. Do not take your vehicles here. Save yourselves the headache. read more

Hector was wonderful. I live in Murrieta and he took care of everything with me over the phone. This is the only Hyundai dealership that I have found (and I went to at least 7) that is not adding a market value markup on their Kona EV. I really feel it's important to leave a review when you get great Service and especially when you receive horrible Service. I've been buying New and Used Cars for over 50 years. I was one of the first to buy a Ford Mustang when they first rolled out in 1964. It was Yellow with a Black Top. I thought I was all that and a bag of chips. I'm writing this review to give a shout out to Bob Cook, Used Car Manager at Imperial Valley Hyundai. I have never had this type of car buying experience before, ever, never. His Boss should have Bob train all his Salesmen. In the era that we are living in now it's easy to blame poor Customer Service on Covid. Longer lines, short supply of goods, and hours waiting on phone call enquiries. Bob on the other hand brings a ray of sunshine. He's no nonsense, answers your questions truthfully, calls you back when he promises and just gets the job done. He is a Man of his word. So if your tired of running into Mickey Mouse Car Salesman that can't keep their word, go see Bob Cook at Imperial Valley Hyundai. You won't regret it, I promise you that. read more

IV Hyundai lacks in customer service. They do not call to provide updates on your vehicle and the call center staff is rude and uncaring. They act as though they are being inconvenienced by your call. I would not recommend this place. If you can avoid them, do so. The system does not allow for zero stars, which is what I would rate them. read more

Had two visits here now and both times I've had a positive experience. They have a good selection of new cars and a few decent used cars for sale. They staff I have had were both very friendly, but at the end of the day they are trying to sell you a car. Our wait became longer than we wanted when taking a test drive to receive gift cards, but they were nice about the whole process. Hyundai make good vehicles so it's worth checking out! read more

I bought a non Hyundai vehicle and they said I had to purchase a 3000 dollar service contract with it. When the air conditioning on the car didn't work I took it back to Imperial Valley Hyundai and they avoided that 3000 dollar service contract like the plague, causing me to have to spend over 500 dollars on a rental car. Now I have to take this Imperial Valley Hyundai contract to the Auto Fraud Center in San Diego and have them review the contract as well as having to go through the hassle of getting that bogus service contract canceled. If you want to buy a vehicle from Imperial Valley Hyundai in El Centro, please take an Attorney with you, or better yet, please take your business elsewhere! read more

I do NOT recommend the Hyundai Direct Auto Car Care in El Centro to anyone. The customer service employees were horribly disrespectful and service ridiculously slow. A very poor quality of service. We had scheduled an appointment with this facility for 9:30. After two and a half hours of waiting in there primitive holding area, our car just sat there untouched by their mechanics. We just sat there wasting time, accomplishing nothing! So, I asked for my keys then left. Two and a half hours after my SCHEDULE APPOINTMENT and nothing was accomplished. I left the horrible car care facility and when straight to Pep Boys in El Centro Ca. Our car's oil change was complete within forty five minutes. Without an appointment and with great customer service. Do not make the same mistake I did. It will only frustrate you and wast your time. Never use this vehicle service department. read more

Poor customer service. Needed to replace a battery on my car that apparently it's ONLY available through the dealership and is $320 wasn't covered by my warranty, fine, but there was no offer to try and find one from another dealership or elsewhere perhaps a bit cheaper, nothing! I ended up going to Yuma and purchased a less expensive one, exactly what my car needed. I also needed the passenger door handle repaired it wasn't opening the door from the outside. Did it get fixed? NO! The technician left greasy hand prints all over my hood inside my drivers door, and someone stole an unopened $3.00 can of Monster Energy out of my cup holder. It's not the price of what they took that matters it's the fact someone stole it out of a customers car. read more

This dealership is a joke. They are horrible unprofessional and ignorant. My father took his car into service because of a malfunction and of course instead of just fixing the issue they ran his credit and tried to get him into another crappy car, they tried to blame him for the car being a piece of crap and threw Hyundai their own company under the bus stating that the car came to the dealership messed up from the Hyundai factory. They even proceeded to make fun of his english and talked down to him. This establishment is an embarrassment BUYER Beware when buying from this place!! If I could give them 0 stars I would be careful when they tell you they're giving you a "good deal" thank god we kept all our service receipts and I suggest you do the same so they don't try and blame you if something happens to your car. It's places like this that give our city a bad rep please BEWARE unless you want a lemon!! We are going to the DMV to report them and the Better Business Bureau. read more

Tire pressure light came on in our Santa Fe which we had just gotten a 99-point inspection in San Diego before this drive to Peoria. Stopped here and the service dept. checked pressure and inflated tires for us for free--we were in and out in less than 10 minutes. Now have peace of mind we won't get a flat driving through the desert w dog and 2 kids. Great service. read more
