Poor customer service... I was greeted in the parking lot by the owner who told me they were only taking appointments. Well I thought had an appointment. I booked online and received an email confirmation. Unfortunately, the owner explained that, yes, they had received my request, but they were no longer using the online system through which I booked. So somehow that meant I didn't have an appointment. The owner said she had no way of contacting me to cancel (even though if you google my name my email address and phone number pop up). One would think they might disable an online booking service they don't use? Or honor appointments if they know confirmations have been sent? Or make a simple concession like, "unfortunately we can't give you the hour and a half you booked, but you're fifteen minutes early - I could give you a quick trim..." Like I said, poor customer service. I would also like to apologize to the owner. As I walked away I said "now I know why you've got zero stars on Yelp" (a reference to a review I read where someone wished they could give zero stars). That was rude of me and unnecessary. Wish I could give 0 stars. Was visiting some friends in the state and decided to get my hair cut and colored. The red I chose turned out gorgeous although sloppy, red all over my face, ears, neck that still hasn't come off. When i got back to our hotel, I realized one side of my hair was about half an inch longer on one side than the other. (Never had this happen back home but I'm not usually an angry person and thankfully still in town decided to go back to have them fix it) I go back and the stylist I had was off for the day so someone else fixed it, no charge as it should be. Get back to my hotel for a SECOND TIME. It is now shorter on the other side. I will wait until I get back home to get it fixed correctly rather than them continuing to hack at it until it's too short. read more

I paid 40 dollars for a gel polish change (with 5 dollar tip even for a bad service) when online it says its 10 dollars for a polish change and 30 dollars for a manicure. After I had paid and realized this I called and told her about it she said it was 35 for a polish change and 40 for a manicure which is a complete lie so she wouldn't have to give back a refund. How can you lie straight to my face when online your prices say other wise. I was constantly asked about my ethnicity maybe thats why i was over charged. Regardless of someones race you shouldn't over charge people. For the work itself it was a mess nail polish was to thick each nail was shaped differently and I had left over polish that wasn't fully removed and took over an hour to finish sitting facing the window where the hot sun was beaming in and the chairs are uncomfortable. She told me to come back the next day to get them fixed which i did they turned out okay and the girl who did them was very friendly but for 35 dollars for a polish change I could've gone to another salon and had a full set acrylic. I dont mind paying 35 nor do i mind tipping 5 even for a bad service but to lie and over charge me for no reason now thats what gets to me. Save your money theres plenty of nail salons who respect their customers. read more

I went to get a cut and die, and while we were choosing my dye color, i explained that i have a job where i can't have any crazy hair color, it has to look natural. However my hair came out Pink!! They told me it would fade a bit, but even if it faded, it would still be pink! They were nice enough to have another stylist fix it the next day, but i was less than "impressed", i've never gone back. read more

I've been getting my haircut here for a couple years now. And I'm a guy. I guess I just settled on this place after trying a couple other salons and just keep going back to Impress. They're always able to squeeze you in for an appointment, and go out of there way to accommodate changes etc. They've got an expansive selection of goo to put in your hair for washing and things, but most are pretty spendy. I love how they've used tool chests as work stations for each stylist. I can't recall ever seeing another guy in here getting his haircut, but I've always been pleased with the results of mine. read more

Just went in to get a cut fix. Megan cut my hair and when she went to finish my hair she had me look at my hair color. Back sort: I went to Tri-Cities to have a "me" day yesterday. I started at Lucas Marc Hair Academy to have cut and color. Not a good experience at all (I will save this story for a crappy review for them). Five hours later and my hair looked like crap (I thought it was only the cut). Ok, back to reviewing Impress. When I looked at my hair, it has orange roots and some hot spots. Megan told me, after some shed tears on my end, "don't worry girl, we got this. We will fix you". She put glaze on my roots and let me process while she cut theist precious little girls hair. Watching Megan and the little girl interact and giggle was much needed after seeing the horror of my hair. After processing, Megan washed and trimmed my hair again. So, long story short, Megan is a saint for fixing my jacked up hair after 6 hours in a chair. Thank you Megan! read more

I thought I could count on this salon to provide me with professional nails and hair for my wedding day. It took 3.5 hrs for me to get a french manicure and my hair done. (I wanted my hair down with a soft wave and 3 pin curls on the side, and clip in hair extensions, nothing complicated.) I left with nail polish all over my fingers/cuticles and the inside of my fingers. The polish was already coming off the next day. I had done no "laborous" work. The girl that did my hair went out of her way to help me with my extensions and I give her credit for that. My hair was not how I wanted it, though. It was extremely frizzy in my pictures. I wanted a wave and left with it curly. I applied my own makeup, but wanted their assistance with my eyes. That was the last straw. My false eyelashes weren't aligned with my natural ones, then with the eyeliner on top of the false ones, you could see my eyelid skin between the false eyelashes and my real ones. I left peeling nail polish off my fingers, my cuticles sore, my hair frizzy, and had to re-apply my makeup, and was very late for my wedding, restulting in my groom and I having to get RE-dressed up the next day in order to get any photos of us together. (And my photographer having to spend extra time and be late to her engagements....) I met with the owner to complain and she did give me a free facial, but not without unsimpathetically defending her salon. She tried saying that I wouldn't remember these things in a few years, and putting it on me. Customers are paying for quality and the best for their wedding day. It IS important to provide it, and within a reasonable amount of time. read more
