I just needed an 8ft piece and ended up going with a piece of douglas fir that was dead straight and perfect for my shelving project. It was also 3.5 inches thick. The wood has that beautiful "rough sawn" look and is far superior than attempting to achieve the same look with new wood from depot or lowes. If you're looking for that chunky and thick look, this is it. They have thicknesses ranging from 1-6+ inches. He also has a mill on site for custom cuts. As with all reclaimed lumber, you'll need basic sawing, sanding, and drilling skills. Prices were very reasonable when you consider what similar wood is going for on sites like etsy, etc. I'll save hundreds by putting in a little elbow grease, and it will probably look better to boot. I'll post a picture when I finish... Great place, highly recommended.
