Then it took 2 weeks to even get him to respond with a time for someone to come check out the project. I had to follow up repeatedly. Then he sent the construction lead Mike to do the estimate. Mike texts me an estimate of $1500. I check with Frank to confirm and he said "No, that's a a mistake, it's really $2500". It is still my low bid so I take it. I ask for a detailed invoice and Frank sends a text with project details. I just deal. But scheduling the start date is a mess too. They tell me on Monday that they can start Friday. I say, "great, what time? I need to schedule work and childcare." Mike says, "I won't know until Thursday evening."!! What?! I can't plan for that. Frank tries to clarify and say he will give me an update the next day. No update the next day (Tuesday) until I follow up Wednesday. They say Friday afternoon after lunch. Today is Friday so I confirm (as I am worried they will not show) and ask if to expect them at 1pm. They say, "no, 3-5 pm". CANCEL! I just can't work like this. I have a kid at school and a job. I suggest you don't either. Frank says he is sorry I feel this way (not that they behaved like this) and that he was doing me a favor to squeeze me in. Between the estimate $1500/$2500 mix up and the very little leadership offered by Frank (the owner) who says his job is the money and the scheduling: I say, you are better off paying more elsewhere. That is what we will do. I have the texts saved if anyone needs evidence of how this all played out. UPDATE: The owner Frank has written his response below which confirms his lack of feeling apologetic for all the trouble I mention above. Frankly, he is the cause of the challenge as what I encountered was a problem of bad leadership and administration. If you want to confirm the exhausting effort made to get them to follow through and schedule something, please write me a message and I will send you the text thread images. Honestly, if he had replied with a sincere, "I'm sorry, our inconsistency must have been difficult." I would have softened the review because of his ability to take responsibility and try to correct it. Only hire them if you have time to sit at home waiting for a maybe and know that he will blame you for his shortcomings.

After I decided to go with him, he was in constant communication with scheduling the work, since the weather wasn't cooperating. When he came out to do the work, everything went as planned. There were a couple of issues that came up but Andy was able to quickly provide a recommendation on how we can get them resolved. Overall, I'm very satisfied with his work and service.
