CUSTOMERS BEWARE!!!! I wish I had checked the Bureau of Household Goods and Services (BHGS) first. BHGS says residential moving companies must be licensed before operating, and you can verify license status through their lookup tool before you book. In my experience, Daniel Sanchez (owner) told me In Motion Moving Services was properly permitted/insured, but I was unable to get clear documentation. When damage happened, my request for resolution went nowhere and communication stopped (he blocked my number). Interestingly enough, once I posted this information on another review site he started calling my wife. Never use this company. Daniel Sanchez came into the property and said it is an easy job, and estimated for 6 hours and saying he will disconnect the water system and drinking water system. I called him back to confirm the pipe is connected to the washer and it will work fine after he disconnects and he said yes. I had better pricing from other company, but I just used them so that I didn't need to hire plumber again. They generated invoice after $ 100 of deposit via zelle and it shows "7% TAX" so I confronted them since imposing tax on labor job is against the tax law in California. And what he said was he can charge for anything. I told him I don't pay any unreasonable charges. So we came down to an agreement that we removed that charge. The day the guys came, and saying he needs to leave for his kid's baseball game. I was thinking "?You said it will be 3 workers and you be supervising" but I just let him go and he came back 12:40pm. When he first came in he said again it will be 3-4 hours here and 3-4 hours at the new home. The workers just finished one room which is the living room; 1 dining table, 1 china cabinet, 1 piano, 2 workout equipments in 4 hours. They didn;t come in to house over 30 mins so i had to go out and check. One guy was clearly doing nothing so I asked him to wrap stuffs and he said they ran out of the material so he needs to wait for Daniel to come. What a joke. So I said "so you will not do anything until he comes?" and he goes "uh... well... um.. waiting for the supervisor" So I asked them to start disassembly since none of the bed frames or drawers were disassembled or wrapped in 4hours. They finished 1 load in 7 hours. 7 freaking hours. Daniel came in and remove the water system and drinking water system, and he just simply removed it, found out we didn't have water at home at all. I told him that and he said he just removed it and other than that it is not his work. I was so pissed. I told him the closing was the next day, so I don't want any issues. He clearly made an issue. I told them there will be no water so be aware, but worker still peed in one of the bathroom, and put all the toilet paper into the bowl. We found out the next day so we have to take the toilet paper out with our hands from the bowl so that it doesn't clogged. They chipped the corner of the expensive dresser saying they will "touch up" but never confirm with me for the repair that I found out the next day it was crappy looking with one paint touch. They did the two trips in the end. They spent so many times in the truck to organize things. What was the reason of it if you are going to do two trips with almost empty 2nd load? They spent at least 3 hours in the truck. They just wanted to drain your money. The bill was at $1,395 at first, but they demanded $2,000 saying their other payment system is down so they only accept cash. lol I wanted to pay him with Zelle, but my husband was being too nice so we paid in cash. I still gave all the workers $100 tip each because I saw them struggling. I know they are not experienced young kids so I just want to compensate them. But the owner, I don't want to deal with him. They left some parts at the old property so Daniel Sanchez said he will come back the next day, and he never answers the messages, calls of course never showed up. He and his wife commented a lot on the facebook local group postings to advertise their business saying "Licensed and insured!" but when my attorney sent the letter to show the proof of it, Daniel's response was their job doesn't need any license. They just lure people with lies. He begged for not leaving any bad reviews, but if you wanted me not to leave any bad reviews, you at least had to finish your job. He is saying he is Christian, family guy, want to make customers happy, but you clearly fail to make your customer happy. WARNING: DO NOT - I repeat - DO NOT use this company. We had an offer to buy our Lake home with only a 10-day escrow; so we HAD to move our furniture out quick! We contacted several companies but they couldn't get us on schedule. The problem was, we were traveling 5 days out of that 10-day escrow period so there was only one day in our schedule that we could do the move. We finally get in touch with Daniel (who I believe is the owner of In Motion Services) and he reassured us that he can get us moved, no problem. So we signed the contract and gave him the deposit. A couple days before the move, I checked the weather and it showed that it'd be raining. So we called Daniel to make sure that weather would not present a problem. He again reassured us that he's used to weather conditions and that it would not be a problem. Daniel said his crew would be there at 9am as promised. So being that this was our vacation home and we didn't live there full time, we get up at 5am to drive 2.5 hours to be there before 9am. We wait and wait and by 9:20am, still no movers and worse yet, not one phone call from them. So my husband calls Daniel for a status update on movers. Daniel answers and tells us that they weren't coming (?!) He gave us the excuse of weather and some closed roads and right before we had a chance to tell him how unprofessional that was, he had the audacity to hang up on us!! We called back repeatedly on both my husband's and my phone. Daniel refused to pick up. We couldn't believe that he just told us he wasn't coming and hung up! I thought maybe the hang up was by accident, but wouldn't he have picked up one of our calls thereafter, or call us back? We drove 2.5 hours from Los Angeles to Lake Arrowhead and NOT one road was closed! So of course, I was livid. But I understand that bad reviews can have negative impacts on a business so wanting to give Daniel the benefit of a doubt, within 10 minutes of Daniel hanging up on us, I contacted CalTrans/DOT. I called their general info phone line, and after pressing 3, a representative came on and said she didn't see any road closures in the areas I inquired about but directed me to their website to check further. There's a feature that allows you to enter zip codes to check for alerts and closures. I checked all of San Bernardino, Riverside, Lake Elsinore, Perris, Murrieta, Moreno Valley - pretty much surrounding areas. Other than rain conditions and cautions/alerts to drive carefully, there were absolutely NO road closures! Why did you have to lie on top of your unprofessionalism Daniel?! Moving is so stressful as it is, we hope that anybody out there looking for movers don't have to ever experience what we went through with this company. So if you think about hiring them, we truly hope you take what happened to us into serious consideration and look elsewhere. Which we did after they left us stranded. Unfortunately what I thought was to good to be true was exactly that! Be careful to expect the final price to be anywhere near the estimated quote! I was originally quoted $1500, which the following week changes to $1700 (due to miscalculation of mileage). When I contacted Daniel he stated "the feel should be close to $1700, but should not exceed $2000." This is when sirens should have gone off! Daniel was in contact with me often by phone and text during the next month asking how I was doing and confining upcoming move date. At one point the move date changed due to carpet installation delay though Daniel was able to accommodate change. On move-in day Daniel and his crew of 4 (inexperienced movers) arrived in a Uhaul truck and proceeded to unload large pieces of furniture and large boxes (all packed and wrapped previously by a team of seasoned, professional movers). I had a family member at the house when Daniel's team arrived since I was coordinating another family members move to the same residence. I arrived a couple hours later and found an enormous mound of packing paper from furniture wrappings piled five feet high near my front door entrance (which was left for me to breakdown and discard) and a crew placing "labeled" boxes and furniture arbitrarily throughout the house. Daniel was ONLY able to direct the team due to a back injury and needed to take breaks to lie down in his car. When the truck was nearly unpacked and furniture still unassembled and boxes sporadically placed throughout the house Daniel informed me the fee would be $2500 and if I wanted any additional assembly they would have to return the following day. Note, the original quote included assembly of furniture (dining room table and beds). My stomach sank and asked Daniel to just help move some extremely heavy pieces into the correct rooms. At the end of the day the fee totaled $2700 (CASH ONLY), NO RECEIPT, NO FURNITURE ASSEMBLED, and a mound of packing paper at my front door, which I was asked if I would like the team to help put in the garbage. In retrospect I should have expected the movers to clean up the enormous mess they left behind rather I took on this task. After 1.5 hours of crushing and breaking down heavy insulated packing material I realized this should have been a no-brainer for the team to dispose without question when leaving a job sight. Daniel and his team left with my two heavy duty storage locks, which I requested to return numerous times though never received a reply. This was VERY different from my pre-payment communication with Daniel. Once the emotional move was finished I realized I had paid time & labor for a "5" man team though only 4 men were able to lift and move furniture, thus why the additional time requirement that I ULTIMATELY PAID FOR. $1,200 MORE THAN THE ORIGINAL ESTIMATE IS SHAMELESS TO SAY THE LEAST!!
