This was my first time hiring movers instead of getting my family to help. I submitted the online booking form on a Sunday, got a call within an hour, and Maria took several messages and an additional call with me (as well as photos by email) as I thought of more questions and things to confirm. She answered everything to my satisfaction, and the estimate was for the minimum charge of 2 movers, 3 hours or less, short distance. I made a $50 deposit to confirm my slot, and the rate was $129 per hour (or $139 per hour if paying by credit card), with the $50 deposit being counted toward the final payment. On moving day, my slot started at 2 PM, the movers arrived 20-30 minutes early and called to let me know. I said I was not ready yet (packing on time is impossible for me!), so they waited for me until 2. I still had to pack a couple of drawers of clothes, and had some items lying around in my room that I didn't want to take yet, but Tim and Andrew were friendly, courteous and communicative even though I had made things confusing. I also had the not-so-great idea of preparing a bunch of open boxes/bags instead of closed ones, which would have made it easy for more unscrupulous movers to take random items, but I do keep good track of my things and I haven't noticed anything missing. (I have a lot more everyday items than valuables, but still!) The moving work itself was quite smooth and kept me at ease. There were stairs leading down from my old room, and stairs leading up to my new apartment; they handled my 5-drawer dresser and my 48-inch desk (with metal frame) just fine. I'm relieved that I got away with not disassembling said desk all the way. They used shrinkwrap to keep my mattress and spring box clean, shrinkwrap and/or blankets to protect bulky furniture, and also protective plastic on the carpet in the new apartment. They told me they'd stop at a grocery store for a few minutes to get refreshments on the way to the new place, and they did arrive only a few minutes after I did. Overall the job took 2.5 hours, and I thought the calculation of the final price was as expected and clearly explained. I added an optional 15% tip. I only have a couple of technical nitpicks. First, the additional-comments field of the initial booking-form submission seemed to have gotten lost or ignored. But I was later able to get those details to Maria, Tim or Andrew by call, text, in-person, etc. so it wasn't a big issue. Second, when I got the movers' call between 1:30-1:40 on moving day, I didn't know it was them until I picked up; Maria did inform me that they'd call 30 minutes before, but I think it still would've been nice to know their number in advance. Aside from those nitpicks, I thought the whole process was well organized, I never had doubts that they knew what they were doing, they were respectful and not showoffs, and so on. My partner and I needed to move our 2 bd/2 ba from San Diego to the Bay area for job relocation and looked into a lot of different options. We ended up wanting to go with a moving company so we could have help moving all of our big furniture and making sure it was well taken care of during the packing/moving process. We appreciated the quick walk through of our San Diego apartment to ensure we got the right size truck. We ended up needing a 26 foot truck which did cost more but ultimately it was nice to know everything would fit compared to other moving options (e.g., UHaul truck/box or PODS) that we would have had to estimate on our own. They were incredibly good at communicating with us about when they would arrive and were on time. We really appreciated that they brought wardrobe boxes for all of our hangings clothes and boxes for our TVs and computer monitors. This saved us money from having to buy our own boxes and pack these fragile items. Our moving team (George, Pasha, Elman, and Nasrula) really exceeded our expectations with how well they wrapped all of our furniture and how quickly they moved all of our stuff into the truck. George, who drove the truck up the Bay and met us the next day, was especially amazing and went above and beyond to help us with moving furniture around our new apartment to exactly how we wanted it before he left. Overall, they were very professional and friendly. We would highly recommend using them for your moving needs locally in San Diego or even long distance away from the San Diego area! Grateful for the help from Sam, Stas and Emil. I was nervous at first since my window was 2-4pm and they weren't there. But right as the clock turned 4 they showed up. Sam did a walk through and discussed with me what would be taken and then got to work. Sam was very sweet and kind. He had great customer service skills and made the move transition a lot easier with his calm demeanor. Stas and Emil were nice too but kept more to themselves and just worked hard. Pros: great listeners, wrapped furniture very well, kind, respectful Cons: One of the men was sweating (as he should be) but he sat down in my new furniture dripping wet. I thought that wasn't professional at all. That same man watched my lamp drop and said " eh, it's plastic." As if it didn't matter because it is plastic. I wasn't too fond of him but the other two were great. They also wanted drinks and had to make sure to have them in the fridge. We had to leave, to go to 711 and get drinks in the middle of our move. Everyone deserves to drink, especially when it's hot but they should have come prepared instead of wasting our time to go get them drinks. I'd for sure hire them again for another move but I'd come prepared with cold waters. I personally would request Sam to move again since he was such a great person and I believe Stas too. We recently worked with The Rock Movers in San Diego and Ilya and Igor were incredible from start to finish. They showed up right on time, introduced themselves, and got to work right away with such a calm, confident energy that instantly made the moving day less stressful. It was 6 months ago I was referred from a friend to use The Rock Movers. From the very beginning Maria was very attentive and prompt to all my requests and details for my upcoming move. I used these movers today. I found them on Yelp! and called the company about 5 days ago and spoke with Maria, she was helpful and friendly and explained the entire process to me. The company texted yesterday to confirm today's moving schedule. This morning half hour before arrival, the movers called to confirm our meeting address. Two people showed up on-time, with a positive attitude and ready to work! From there they took over, no need to ask me random questions, no small talk, just organized, efficient, punctual, careful with my belongings. They were also proactive in extra padding of mirrors and breakables. They finished the job quicker than expected. Superior customer service that exceeded my expectations. They made my life super easy. They are also pretty cost-efficiient, I called several other moving companies from Yelp, and they were trying to make deals like used car sales men- if you do this... we can do that... real sketchy! no thanks! I used the Rock Movers for a recent move on 3/20/26, and I seriously cannot have chosen a better company. First, I love that this is a female-owned company! Booking and scheduling was such an easy process. The movers the day of were on time, reliable, communicative, kind, and FAST!! I moved from a 1500 sqft three-story townhome, to a ground floor condo. The 3 movers they sent me, (Ilya, Nikita, and Yago) showed up and didn't flinch when they saw the job ahead of them, they only had smiles on their faces and great attitudes the entire day. It was such a hot day too, and never once did they complain or seem to be upset. They were efficient and incredibly fast, especially because I would say I wasn't fully "move ready" when they came. Each mover was gentle with my furniture and belongings, they were patient with my kiddo running around, and they were just all together great guys! Maria was very understanding and offered to hire professional cleaners to clean the furniture that was dirtied. She even went out of her way to find a reputable company on Yelp and booked the appt for me. Anton also called and provided a genuine apology for being off on my move day. He took accountability for his behavior which I really respect. What surprised me was he thanked me for giving him a wake up call. He acknowledged that his mood affected his teammates. Anthony and Paul did an amazing job moving my one bedroom apartment to a two bedroom townhouse! They were quick and efficient and finished exactly within the timeframe they gave me. The price was fair and there were no hidden fees which was very relieving. My new apartment was challenging due to the two sets of stairs that curved around multiple corners. They had absolutely no problem navigating my stairs with all my heavy furniture, and they also reassembled all my furniture quickly. Each piece of furniture was very carefully wrapped with plastic or blankets and they treated each item with care. I will absolutely use the Rock Movers in the future and will recommend them to others as well! I was looking for a last-minute, out-of-state move from California to Nevada. They responded quickly with a quote that they stuck to (no surprise charges), and all they required to set up a contract was a video tour of the stuff to be moved. The movers arrived exactly when they said they would, disassembled and/or wrapped everything, and had everything packed in the truck in a few hours--even going up and down a flight of stairs. They showed up to my new place the next day on time, and reassembled everything without wasting time. I was pleasantly surprised that nothing had been scratched or damaged in any way, which has been my experience with previous movers. They were nice, but very serious about being quick and careful with everything. They were worth every penny, and I highly recommend Maria and her team for 24-hour movers over anyone else! read more

Excellent movers!! This weekend we did a long distance 9 hour move and I'm so happy we chose them to work with. From the beginning Eugene kept in contact with me through calls, texting and emails. He sent me the agreement to confirm everything was as discussed and it was very easy to fill out. On the day of the move they came at the expected time with all the supplies needed. They wrapped up, bubble taped and protected lots of fragile items and glass. They maneuvered efficiently up and down a flight of stairs. The next day they showed up with smiling faces and ready to do all the hard work of coming up another flight of stairs. They set up appropriately and in an organized fashion, very professional. I have to say that having The Rock Movers take care of my move today was absolutely the best moving experience I've ever had!!! Angel, George, Mark and Vitaly were fantastic! Angel and George were incredibly communicative and helpful. They made sure that everything was placed exactly where it belonged. They reassembled everything properly. They even went the extra mile and fixed my adjustable bed that had been assembled improperly by my last movers. I cannot recommend the Rock Movers enough!!! Yerlan and Olzhas were my movers, and I was packing up from a 2 bedroom upstairs condo to a one bedroom upstairs apartment. They went ABOVE and beyond handling all my items with care! They even disassembled and reassembled my bulky furniture (beds, dressers, couch, table, etc). They had plenty of blankets to protect my tv and furniture and they shrink wrapped pretty much everything to ensure it all stayed protected! They were both very friendly and courteous and even rearranged my couch after I had second thoughts on placement. They were pure perfection and I will recommend them to everyone! I'm honestly confused how this company has five stars. They quoted me $18,000 to move my home without ever seeing it or allowing me to explain what actually needed to be moved. Even after I insisted on telling her, that although we have a 5‑bedroom house, we are only moving about two bedrooms' worth of items because most of our furniture is being sold, they still insisted on quoting me for a full 5‑bedroom move which is the same price she quoted for 2 bedroom. Most moving companies provide a free in‑home estimate to give an accurate quote, but they refused to send anyone out, which made their $18,000 estimate feel disconnected from the actual scope of my move. I was hoping this company would provide the same level of professionalism, but unfortunately that wasn't the case. read more

I initially hired this service for packing only. The guys did a great job and they are led by a very experienced person, Sergei, who knows exactly how this business works. They packed everything into boxes and wrapped all the furniture. That night, the movers who were scheduled for the next morning called and cancelled due to them getting Covid. I was in a huge bind. I called Alex to see if there was any way they could help me load the truck early the next morning. They agreed and were able to pack the entire truck with all of our stuff even though we were worried it wouldn't fit. In short, they saved us and I highly recommend this business. Punctual, responsive, professional, efficient. They own their own truck so that is one variable you don't have to worry about (I was concerned about roach eggs or bed bugs, etc. from a random/rented truck.) They had good gear in terms of protecting the floor, clean furniture blankets, etc. Friendly and pleasant team, asked the right questions and took my input/requests. Borys was really great to deal with and actually had really good pointers at the end in terms of where I would do best to place a couple super heavy pieces for the meantime before I know where I want them for good (he kept me from blocking part of the closet access, so thank you!).
