I love In-N-Out and the service at the Santa Anita location is always great! My one consistent disappointment is the fries. Every time I've visited, they seem to be overcooked, very hard, dry, and not as enjoyable as the fries I've had at other In-N-Out locations. This has been our go to in n out burger location. This location doesn't have dine in area. So only the takeout window or drive through. It's at a pretty busy intersection at Santa Anita / Colorado and there are lines consistently throughout the day. My typical order is double double with grilled and whole grilled onion, low salt. Chilis on the side. Or sometimes I'd ask for chopped chili in the burger. It's the gold standard how a burger should taste like. We ordered 7 double double/cheeseburgers the other day. Right after my husband finished his burger, he found a bug on the plate... it probably fell out from the lettuce? He didn't get sick. However, we filed a feedback on in n out's website. A couple of days later, a person from the headquarters called to get more information and apologized for the situation. She ensured she will talk to the manager at the location so it won't happen again. It's unsettling to see a bug from the food. But they did the right thing to handle the situation. They offered a couple of guest cards to make it up to us. read more

This In N Out location definitely gets incredibly busy. There's no inside, so it's mostly drive through or you can step outside to order directly. Some outdoor seating but no indoor. During busy times, the lines for both drive thru lanes is incredibly backed up so be prepared to wait on the street and have it take a while. The quality is always great but the wait definitely takes away at least one star. The grilled cheese animal style with chopped chilies is my favorite and my husband loves the double double. What more can you say about In-N-Out. The food is good and prices are good. It has a typical layout of always being in the corner of intersections which can cause traffic but thats normal for basically all locations. Try to come during the off hours and of course parking and getting your food will have a much shorter line but they typically will prioritize the drive thru. The location has an outdoor patio to eat (no indoor) . The servers are nice and they work fast to get people in-n-out. Nothing to really complain about. The parking can be a tad tight and tough since the drive thru line is basically through it. read more

I am hoping this location gets a little help with Quality Control. The staff is all super nice and attentive, which is why they get an extra star. This past week, while making our way up to Skyforest, California (next to Lake Arrowhead) my family and I were road trippin' for a long weekend getaway! And when it comes to my wife... EVERY Road Trip = (at least one) IN-N-OUT pit stop! So as we were driving, I already knew in the back of my mind that at some point along the way, my wife was going to say "I'm hungry" and suddenly "add a stop" to our Google maps to the nearest IN-N-OUT Burger. (Hey, No lie, I'll never pass up a chance at a hot, fresh in-n-out burger) (This, along with one of the kids yelling from the backseat, "Daddy, I gotta peeee") is our typical road trip M.O. This is what I like to refer to as the classic "two birds, one stone" pit stop which pretty much happens every time we get in the car for more than 30 minutes. Hey, When you 'gotta go... You gotta go' and if you're gonna use the facilities at any fast food chain, IN-N-OUT's are usually your best bet. So.... As we were driving along the 210, making good timing (Mind you, I had already shaved off a few minutes from our original ETA to our final destination) and then suddenly, there it was... "Daddy, I gotta..." Well you know the rest. ;) So my wife immediately punches in IN-N-OUT to our GPS and Google redirected us to the closest location. So we proceed to get off the freeway, make a right... then a swift left, then we pulled into the IN-N-OUT parking lot in Arcadia... and suddenly I was like... "Wait...we've been to this IN-N-OUT before" (Hello Déjà) Yes, from our home to SkyForest, there is a whopping 15 possible IN-N-OUTS we could have easily stopped at; what are the odds of us going to the same exact one over a year apart? (ahh.. who cares! Lets talk about the important stuff) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ IN-N-OUT Arcadia is one of the old school style concepts in that there is no indoor seating area. Yep, Just a drive through lane and an outdoor window to place your order. (I imagine that on rainy days the drive-thru is slammed!!) Fortunately, the day we went it was a beautiful, sunny, typical Southern California day... So after our pit stop restroom break, it was time to enjoy our Double Doubles along with a little Cali Sunshine before getting back on the road. The food came out pretty quick considering the drive-thru was busy. All of their outdoor tables have umbrellas and plenty of either sunshine or shade depending on the time of the day. So the next time you are road trippin' on the 210 and someone's either hungry or they've "gotta go" and they just can't hold it any longer... Been eating in-n-out for years now but this location is disappointing. I tried going back multiple times to see if it's a one time thing but it's not. One time they forgot my fries order completely and I didn't notice until I got home. Second and third time, the amount of fries they give you is a joke. It didn't even fill the paper dish, seemed like the worker just grabbed a little and threw it in the paper dish. Okay, I love in n out but this location falls short. Ordered a number 1 combo animal style (double double, fries, drink) and got it to eat in the car. The burger was pretty much falling a part (like they did not bother aligning the bun with the patties) and the fries looked and tasted like they were boiled in oil -- really soggy and wilted. The fact is: The In-N-Out hamburger is shrinking dramatically recently, while the price kept going up. A simple hamburger is about $4 now. My kids like Carl Jr's much batter. The burgers are bigger and the bread is much better. There is no stopping the cult following. But the reality is that In-N-Out hamburgers are not even close to the best and it is overpriced. For me and my family, I will buy from Carl Jr's or any other place but in-N-out. Giving an In & Out two stars...what gives? I'm going to be honest, I don't know what the companies policies are. But during a stop at this location I watched an employee come up to a homeless man who was doing no harm and asked him to stop eating food out of the trash cans. The look on the man's face was absolute desperation. In & Out has the following Bible verses on their packaging: Revelations 3:20 - Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me." Nahum 1:7 - "The Lord is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in him." Now I am not a Christian and I get that In & Out can't feed every homeless person who comes looking for food. But unlike the staff at this In & Out I showed the same compassion that Christ had and made sure this man went to sleep on this particular evening with a double double in his belly. read more

Honestly, a bit overhyped for the lack of balance in the burger, although I will admit it is still a pretty decent burger for the cheaper price. I think the problem with the double double burger is that too much of the flavor is the same rich creaminess. There's the cheese and the thousand island sauce, and oh, did I mention, the cheese? It's american cheese, so it is extremely creamy but terribly cheap and 1D tasting, and the thousand island sauce is not piquant enough to distinguish itself from the cheese. The lettuce and tomatoes are not enough, and neither are the raw onions, or the Animal Style grilled onions to drag this burger out of cheap cheese hell. The juicy, rich, slightly fatty, light iron beef flavor is nonexistent despite having two patties, unlike ShakeShack. The beef also vaguely has the texture of styrofoam to match its lack of flavor. On the plus side, the bun is soft and the beef is not dry, but the bun is not as delicate, buttery, or toasted as other places like Popeyes. The fries have a pleasant fresh lighter taste to them, but the plain salt and very very light crispiness leaves a lot to be desired, especially compared to McDonald's. Overall, decent for the price, as it is quite a hefty rich cheesy burger for ~$5, but it misses the balance and nuance of other fast food chains. read more

I've been coming to this location since I was a kid in the 90s. I've always loved it. I tried the new Monrovia location down the street, and it just wasn't the same. But last night, an associate's behavior and attitude made me sure, I would never go to another In-N-Out again. Busy Thursday night(seems busier than normal, very!), we waited about 15 minutes from when we ordered, to when we got our food(also, longer than normal). Naturally, I was a little upset, due to the extended wait time. But as I pull to the window at around 8:15 pm, I see the one cook, not two, working harder and faster than I've seen any In-N-Out cook work. They didn't have two cooks like they normally do. They had the extra grill, just empty. He had almost two full wheels of order tickets. There were only about 6 or 7 people in the kitchen. Under all that stress, any normal person would've buckled. But he kept pushing! FAST! Throwing patties fast, talking to his team to clean the floor, help out other customers, and SMILING, and SINGING! That was the best part. Everything he did, he did happy. He didn't let the weight of being understaffed, or being really busy affect himself or the flow of business. A rare trait. I'm not sure who he is( though I see him almost every visit), but EVERY In-N-Out needs a person like him. Keep up the good work, cook with the mullet! read more

I always crave these buttery bun burgers with cheese and grilled onions and the fresh fries We sat outside right by the drive thru and that was a mistake cause the heat from the cars went towards us. So we moved to one of the umbrella seats and still had enough shade on this hot summer day. The place is always busy so it took about 15-20 min for our food to be ready but it's as expected. It did not disappoint too! Delicious as always! Plenty of napkins and the tray keeps all the fall away fries in :0) Definitely recommend parking on the street as well because the parking lot is small and packed like a can of sardines! read more

Definitely one of the top In-N-Outs in terms of food quality and service. There's a small parking lot in addition to the drive through. The only downside is that there is 0 indoor seating, but outdoor seating was clean and California weather is always mild.
