In n out is good. Growing up with IN n Out and listening to everyone tell me it was the best burger in the world always confused me. It may be the best fast food burger in the world, but anyone putting processed cheese on the top of my burger won't be close to the top. There is always a huge line, but they are extremely efficient at moving the line along, so don't be discouraged when you see the drive through is 20 cars deep. The staff is always super friendly, the food is always good and very reasonably priced. They have branched out quite a bit from california. If you live in the west coast you probably have one near you. Try it out, don't expect it to be as glorious as everyone says or you may be disappointed, but as far as fast food burger go this one is on top. I have wanted to try this place for quite a while. I have heard some good things about their food. Tried it today and am sort of confused. Either the people who like this place have no taste buds or I stopped by at the wrong time. They limit your choices to just 3 or 4 burgers which I don't mind; should speed things up. The pattys on my double cheeseburger were quite small but there was plenty of veggies. The fries are why I will not go back. The worst fries I have ever had. To start with they were only warm. In and out burger has really surprised me. They have burgers that you can pick all the things that YOU want to go on your burger. Myself I like the the bun, the meat, triple tomatoes, mayonnaise and triple pickles. It great but can get a little soggy. Love it !!! The crowd, too full, like usual. The location is a little weird, although I suppose it's fairly central. (I mean, it's in Centerville...) It was clean, though! An abundance of parking, too. I'm never overly-impressed with In-N-Out, I think it's more just a touristy thing. The fries aren't very good on their own and the burger is pretty thin. But, when in Rome, right? My all time favorite burger (after much experimenting): Double-double, Animal Style, no lettuce (I like lettuce, but I also like being able to fit the burger in my mouth), add chopped chilies. Perfecto! I tried a burger "Protein Style" the other day (lettuce wrap instead of bun) and I was not a big fan. Classic, awesome in n out. Exactly in line with other stores. So good! If you go only for the hype you're not going to grasp it. Go because you like the food. Where in-n-out excels is the quality of ingredients. A hamburger from mcdonalds or burger king leaves me weighed down and dissatisfied. I don't get that feeling at in-n-out. The ingredients are fresh and well prepared. I don't have to wonder about what I'm actually eating. The menu is simple by design. If you want chicken or fish or pork or tacos or whatever - don't go here. If you want a great burger - go here. It's about as inexpensive as fast food can get. read more

I frequent the Centerville location as a "Yay the week has been awesome!" reward for myself. The saying goes "Quality is a lack of Variance". In-n-Out is a prime example of Quality over and over again. They have figured out an amazing process that every person says the same thing assigned to their role. I love the fact that in the drive through you can see all the food being made kind of putting all the employees on display. But this I think helps establish this great culture they have. Everyone that I have seen is happy, always smiles and they always seem to be having a good time. I give props to the Centerville location and not just for how close it is to my home but also the fact that you can tell they really do enjoy what they do. I love knowing the 'lingo' and feeling like a part of the experience there. Knowing they have a "secret" menu is half the fun! But having unique ways of providing their classic experience of eating it in the car, which I hardly ever see anyone do BUT the point is they don't break away from how they made themselves known! They always have the "Will you be eating that in the car? No? Ok, we will Bag It Up!" When I go through the drive through with my wife and say "2 Double Doubles with Onions and Please Bag It Up", she kind of looks at me puzzled like she is not in on playing some part of a game haha! My hubby loved his double double animal style and I was surprised at how good the grilled cheese (cheese burger no meat but all the yummy fixings) was. The fries were perfection. I have been eating In-N-Out Burgers since 1979 back when you had to actually know the secret menu items and nomenclature. Not like today when you can just look it up on the internet. Also many of the employees today are not well versed in the secret menu and don't know that the first number is the number of meat patties and the second number is the number of slices of cheese. I also remember eating an 8X8 back in the day but no more the largest burger they make now is the 4X4, but you can usually get a 4X5 which is way I also like it an extra slice of cheese always makes for more wonderful gooey cheese run off. My other quirk is that I love my French fries just barely cooked. I often run into trouble convincing the staff that I really do want barely cooked fries. Tonight I was so completely and pleasantly surprised by Zack, the cashier. Not only did he fluently speak and understand the secret menu but he managed to get my fries absolutely perfectly cooked just the way I like them. Also I have to give a big shout out to Steven who was working the dining room. He was so helpful and accommodating to us. For many years i've always loved to eat here but today's experience was nothing special at all. Two of our burgers out of the 4 were missing cheese and onions and one of those had very little lettuce on it. I have never understood the fascination with in and out. I have been to a couple of them and they have always been a decent meal so I never mind going but don't obsesse over going.. well we wanted to grab a quick bit between stores so we stopped in. When I ordered I specifically ordered a plan burger for my wife and the girl even made sure all is wanted was meat,cheese, and bun then I ordered a normal burger and added pickles we got fries and milkshake. First my wife takes a bit of her burger and is smothered in ketchup. Ketchup isn't even a normal topping for a burger so not sure how that happened and the fries seemed like they weren't cooked.
