It's In-N-Out so you know the service is going to be amazing. This location is pretty new and it was very busy, as most In-N-Out locations are, but they keep plenty of staff to keep the lines moving, the dining room clean and the customers happy. The food is always great! My favorite thing about an In-N-Out burger is that crispy toasted edge on the bun. I live for that! I'm not a huge fan of the animal style and I also prefer my burger without cheese but a little extra of their sauce is always nice so I got a few extra packets. You can taste the quality of the ingredients and for a chain to be so successful over all these years they are doing something right. They aren't trying to fix what isn't broken. I've been eating In-N-Out since I was a kid growing up in CA so when they decided to open up locations in TN a weekend road trip from NC was absolutely necessary. This location is usually fire but for some reason they have been cooking their burgers to medium and it didn't use to be like that. Customer service at night has gotten pretty bad. The night crew doesn't follow directions. We've asked them several times bag our food separately but somehow they manage to put them in the same bag. This is an issue because what if I was delivering this food to two or three locations. Please follow direction and please cook these burgers as requested. The last few times I requested well done patties and got medium patties. I mean when I went it wasn't too crowded the ambiance wasn't that bad so they can't say they were in a rush so there's no reason these Pattie's should be medium. I made it to the In-N-Out in Lebanon, Tennessee! This was on the list of things to do during my time with the daughter. Wow, this place was B-U-S-Y!! We arrived just before the line reached the doors. But like the ones in Cali, the In-N-Out team handled it all so incredibly well. We ordered the #1 with grilled onions for me and a plain cheeseburger, well-done fries plus a vanilla shake for my daughter. Mmmmm, it was just like home! So good, so comforting, so satisfying. What impressed me the most about this location was the number of team members continually circling the dining areas cleaning, checking on customers, offering to bring orders to tables and asking customers if they needed anything. In-N-Out is always great. Will I show my Southern California bias and say that it tastes slightly better on the West Coast? Maybe. Maybe it's just because that's where In-N-Out originated. I also originated in Southern California, so to me, In-N-Out just hits different when you're breathing in smog and within sight of palm trees. But In-N-Out is great wherever it is, and this location happens to be in Lebanon, Tennessee, of all places. Pro tip: This location is supposed to open at 10:30 a.m., but we showed up at 10:15 and they were open, there were people already inside, and they were ordering and eating. You might want to keep this bit of information in your back pocket if you want to beat the crowd. Get there early! Get there before they officially open! In-N-Out is still novel in TN, so the lines can be very long. Embrace a breakfast Double-Double. The only way to enjoy a burger at In-N-Out is to order it with grilled onions. Don't even bother if you don't. I feel like I need to mention grilled onions specifically to Tennesseans because y'all are new to In-N-Out, and I'm looking at the photos being posted and all of them have raw onion slices. No! Growing up with an In-N-Out Burger on every corner in SoCal was something I took for granted. We even had one next to my high school in La Habra so we ate there all the time. Then we moved to Winston-Salem NC nearly 30 years ago. Luckily we still have family to visit back in Cali so we still get our fix. Trips to Las Vegas result in daily burger runs even if we just ate dinner. We even scheduled a layover once on our way to Seattle, just long enough of a stop in Salt Lake City, Utah to grab an Uber to the local In-N-Out, then Uber back before our next flight. Yeah. We are double-double junkies. Now that the Nashville market has rapidly opened several locations we knew we would need to make a roadtrip. It was a 7 hour drive from Winston-Salem to Lebanon, TN but it was well worth it. The cashiers were awesome, super friendly and upbeat. The burgers were fabulous and the highlight of the visit was a guy named Jack. He was working the dining room, cleaning, sweeping, stocking and he popped over to say hi. He told us about the various locations he's opened and told us about some of the photos/art on the walls, including family members incorporated into the scenes. His energy was fantastic! A true brand champion. Being in the restaurant business myself I'd love to lure him away... but he makes me want to join the In-N-Out team. Great job Team Lebanon! Next stop... Welcome to Tennessee, In-N-Out! I was so excited to see one of my favorite burger spots finally open near home. This is one of the first three locations in Tennessee (with more to come), and it's great to have a taste of California here. I waited a few months before visiting to avoid the crazy opening lines, especially since I've had In-N-Out plenty of times in California. When we finally went, I brought my mom and mother-in-law for their very first In-N-Out experience. We visited on a Friday around 2 pm. I vowed not to come here within the first few months of opening due to the lines, but the recent ice storm created an opportunity for me to go when there were virtually no other cars to fight for a spot in line. Despite the cold, the staff were efficient, informative and friendly. Finally got my hands on a cheeseburger and fries from the iconic CA burger joint, and it delivers just as well as the original. Okay we braves this while heading out of town. I checked the "waitapp" someone made an up that let you know the wait time for both dine-in and drive through. We decided to dine-in. Well, we had to go to the new one near Nashville, Tennessee. This is the closest one so far to our home 5 hour trip but it's worth it. We love the burgers they're always fresh with fresh ingredients. Crisp lettuce and tomato, perfect onion slice, not just a ring of onion, a slice!, fresh beef, the spread (oh the spread...it's kind of like thousand island) and that bun! Soft on the outside and just a little bit of a crunch on the inside. The fries cooked light well are the way to go. Sliced daily and cooked in sunflower oil. And their shakes, to me, have a very distinct taste..soo yummy!! We waited only 23 minutes from the time we entered the line to the time we were driving off with our food. (Someone has created a website that you can check wait times at the different locations here in TN before you go, since wait times can be long.) Every employee we encountered had a smile on their face, were extremely welcoming, thanked us and wished us a great day. We went to the new In-N-Out in Lebanon to give it a try in TN! We are veterans of In-N-Out in CA, so we knew what to expect. There was definitely a line, but it was very efficient. We dined in instead of the drive thru because we like it fresh. It took 36 minutes from getting in line to getting our food. It was just as good as Cali, but very busy and hard to find a table. We staked out a spot and got lucky enough to get one. They are doing a good job of not letting too many people inside so it's not too crowded. The animal fries were great, but I'm glad we got the regular fries too! The burgers were awesome, a little too much onion this time, I was tasting it all night after we left! Food was great, only thing I wish they had was more seating, even outside there is room where more seating could be added and would be used. We wound up having to eat in our car, and at that point should have just used the drive thru. We went on a week night to this location where although the line was outside the door, surprisingly we were at the counter in no time. The line took 20 min to the counter to order which was not horrible compared to how many people were there. Our wait time for food after we ordered was 30 min. We were also a party of 5. It really didn't seem like it was this long of a wait but with this being a popular place to dine - they were all doing an amazing job and very organized with a clean facility! First, very reasonable price. Comparable in price to most area fast food burger places. For a better quality and fresh burger it is well worth the price point. We had the double double. Burgers were very good. I enjoyed the sauce and the bun. They do. It use presets ices on their buns and they cook their burgers in sunflower oil. It did give the burger a lighter flavor. We did not get animal style fries. Fries were ok. They taste air fried honestly. Not a huge fan. You can however taste the potato in the fries which is rare nowadays. The wait times are much improved in just a week's time. Definitely need to come and try this place! Everyone working was very friendly. Personally I completely love that this place is Christian ran and Christian based. Bible verses on the wrappers and on the fry trays. I absolutely love that about this franchise!
