I like this place. They have a good lunch menu and the food is much cheaper during lunch. The only thing is, I wish they would get with the program and allow online ordering. More like 3.5 but generally speaking it was a good experience. Everyone talks about this old school neighborhood restaurant/hangout and there is no doubt that even after the recent renovation this place is still a 100% old school vibe. Maybe it's because the average age of the clientele that night was hovering in the 50-60 year old range but at least you can tell this place has it's share of long time/old customers (in the figurative and literal sense) so it must be at least pretty good? I'd say from a service standpoint, this place gets a solid A. The hosts are friendly, the servers are super attentive and kind and they absolutely make you feel welcome and at home here. The ambiance, like I said, is pretty old school but there is something relaxing about this place that feels pretty comfortable regardless of the vibe. The food was a mixed experience. The recipes and menu feels dated, like that restaurant you used to go to with your parents like 30 years ago like of vibe. But I will say some of the dishes were pretty good. Oddly enough the garlic bread and house salad they give you (when you order an entree) were my favorite parts of the meal. The old school herb dressing on the salad and the yummy garlic bread pretty much filled me up - especially when you couple it with the shrimp garlic appetizer which has an addictive sauce that is highly amplified by the garlic bread - those dishes alone made me feel like I was in a familiar old restaurant I ate years ago elsewhere. The lobster ravioli was just okay. The sauce was pretty good and the portions were immense (all the portions here are pretty huge). The ravioli itself was just okay, with huge stuffing and not super flavorful w/o the heavy sauce. The spaghetti and meatballs I ordered for my kids were immense though they seemed to like it. The one thing that was not that great was the onion soup, which had a really lovely layer of cheese but the broth was not flavorful and some of the onions seemed undercooked as well. The staff was also kind enough to give the kids some free ice cream. They enjoyed it very much. Generally speaking I'd come back again just to slurp up those garlic shrimps and the really delicious salad and for the overall good experience and kind service. I just would manage my expectations on any groundbreaking food experience of any sort. But for a nice local joint and a relaxing evening out for dinner, I'd come back for sure. read more

I ordered a bulleit-bourbon old fashioned and I cringed when she just the bourbon neat and mash a maraschino cherry and gave it to me. wtf. No bitters, not even an orange peel. A violation. When I asked for an old fashioned with brandies cherries, she said sure and put a brandied cherry in the same drink above instead of making me a new drink. I wanted to die but again I was being nice. The food was okay. The shrimp garlic appetizer was nothing to write home about . I ate the whole thing because I was starving, jet lagged and didn't want my money to go to waste. I have been coming to In Napoli for so many years, over 14 years. From the old owners to the new and have always liked the food, atmosphere, jukebox, wine, drinks, and staff/service and still do. I have been to the new and improved in Napoli since the owners remodeled and it looks great. They still have the jukebox but sadly the popcorn is gone but thats okay I'm not big on popcorn though it did help when drinking. Food is still really good. My steak was better than I remember it being! Penne vodka so delicious! Love the tiramisu and carrot cake! Oh and they have good strong coffee. Great service for food and at the bar. Just to say from the start , the food is phenomenal! We ordered the coconut shrimp for an appetizer and initially seeing the size of the dish vs the price had me sighing- but when you bite into the shrimp and realize the quality and juiciness under the perfectly crusted shrimp, it's worth it. Then you are brought a complimentary house salad that has a refreshing balsamic dressing with a fresh and crisp taste & fresh garlic bread. Truly yum. We had lobster Mac, ribeye and veal Francese which were all cooked so well. The food is a 8.5-10. Now the service , was a bit awkward. For some reason there was only three of us but the servers and wait staff kept getting confused and giving us either too little or too much of things such as waters and utensils. It was a bit weird seeing as there were only two tables at the time so no rush to anything. The server also seemed to be less than enthusiastic and also insisted I ordered a dish I knew I didn't because only two options weee in my kind....veal or pasta - not chicken like she insisted. Hosted an event in their second floor space. The space is absolutely beautiful without decor and is only enhanced by decorations. The quality of food was excellent and my guests raved about it all night, even taking home left overs. The staff assigned to the event were very attentive and made sure we had anything and everything we needed throughout the event. After visiting In Napoli after a few years since my last visit, and the changing of ownership/management, I was not impressed or wowed as I had been in the past. I ordered Pene Ala Vodka. It was just ok and it wasn't the same as I remembered it. The sauce didn't have the same slight pink tint and it was a bit bland. So, something was different there. I had to sprinkle on quite a bit of Parmesan cheese for flavor. You still get the salad with your entree with the house dressing which is still very good. The only reason why I'm leaving a review for this restaurant is because they tried to get over on me. if I wouldn't have checked my account, I never would've known or I would've noticed when it was too late. I came to this restaurant and I tipped the waiter, but because I didn't tip the waiter the amount that they wanted me to tip, they took it upon themselves to fraudulently add an additional amount of money to the overall total of what I signed and put on the check as my tip. my original tip was $6.33 which totaled out to $100 for the overall bill they took it upon themselves to add $12 extra to my overall bill on that check. When I called and explained what happened, the very first thing that the manager said to me when I brought up this was well, is there a reason why you didn't tip 20% and I was taken back by that because why is that 1. the first thing that you say to me and 2. who are you to check me for what I am choosing to tip? ultimately yes I was refunded my $12 back and I get it, $12 isn't a huge deal but for me it's the fact that they think that it's OK to just add an extra amount of money onto what I did not authorize to pay it just threw me off because that's technically stealing and it makes me feel like they've done this more than once. For them to automatically just add that money onto my overall bill and then act as if it was done as a mistake didn't sit well with me and for that to be the first thing that the manager said to me completely threw me off because how dare you count my pockets at the end of the day so I would just say either tip in cash or be very mindful of what you are tipping if you pay with a credit card and take a photo of your receipt. my advice to the restaurant is if you want it to be an automatic 20% tip you need to add that as gratuity to the bill before the customer pays, point blank period. read more

May 10th, 2025 took my mother and sister who were visiting from out of town and terribly disappointed and embarrassed. I hadn't been here for several months and was shocked to the difference in the quality of the food from the past. As usual,The service and ambience was great but every plate served was a disaster. The salad had an overwhelming amount of vinegar and black pepper, the Cheese Tortellini was floating in a pasty sauce, linguine marinara sauce was too sweet and taste like store-bought Ragu, the meatballs gummy, garlic shrimp in another river of sauce and too spicy to eat, the garlic bread was old hard cold drenched in . I live in Fort Lee and I've never had such a horrible meal and one of our restaurants.. They have either sold the establishment or changed chefs. Definitely will not return. read more

The restaurant starts with an exquisite Garlic bread...than we choose House salad, grilled Calamari , penne pasta al Vodka w/chicken. The baked clams Oreganate were amazing. Was there the first Saturday of their reopening. The prices are a lot higher and now you only get a choice of a potato or vegetable. I was disappointed that they can not a provide a potato, like before. Since it was their first Saturday the new staff were a little overwhelmed. The waiter forgot our drinks and bread. Valet parking was chaotic because they have a small parking lot and the valets are not up to speed yet.Place was very busy,nice to see. Hostess looked up our reservation and asked us to wait at the bar.Ten minutes later and our table was ready.Didn't want to wait any longer so opted to take a table in the far back corner next to the emergency exit. Bad mistake,no atmosphere and uncomfortable cold. The decor looks a lot better on the website,but no complaints memories of the gone by-old decor bring back tacky memories. Our waitress was a gem ,professional and very competent Very excited that they still offer the delicious complimentary huge salad bowl and garlic bread, just as good as old times. Drinks were very reasonably and sized decently.Two of us ordered the 16 ounce strip steak $39 came with a baked potato.I ordered it blackened and I can truly say it was delicious and very well prepared, the baked potato was a little on the small size.One negative,the cream for the potato came served in a small plastic container, diner ,delivery style. And the butter came in the diner style plastic sealed containers. Really!!!! In a fine restaurant? I don't think so. Owners need to take note. The other two guests ordered the balsamic salmon which came with vegetables.Also delicious but no apparent balsamic taste odd but tasted good. We opted not to have dessert but the dessert menu looked extensive with very fair pricing.Two of us ordered decaf coffee. Both of us could not fall asleep till the early hours of the morning so I can only assume the coffee was not decaf,something to be very wary of on return visits.Overall the food was excellent,the prices very fair .Only notably exception was the rack of lamb. $49 outrageous.The River Palm and most others way less. The wait staff need to be fine tuned and told not to clear the table before all are finished eating.Not acceptable.
