The atmosphere is relaxed, welcoming, and very family-focused. The summer camp is exceptional. Our kids have been going for years, and there is truly no other local camp that compares. The camp includes daily swimming and tennis lessons, provides food, and--most importantly--really teaches kids how to swim properly and play tennis. Even if tennis isn't a child's sport of choice, it's such an important life sport, and the instruction here is outstanding. The swimming program overall is fantastic and genuinely builds strong swimmers, not just confident splashers. The tennis program is equally excellent for both kids and adults. Adults can jump into matches, enjoy friendly competition, and feel part of an active, social tennis community. What really makes EFC special are the shared moments. Friday summer nights are the best--kids playing in the field with friends while adults relax on the patio. In the winter, family skate nights are such a highlight: kids skating, great dinner service, and adults hanging out with friends. It's a super fun place to spend time, build friendships, and make lasting family memories. We're so grateful to be part of this community.

In the winter, the club has an outdoor ice rink and our daughter learned to skate and joined the figure skating team eventually competing in Lake Placid and NYC. While our daughter was having a great time at the club, we also got to participate in all of the sports activities offered including tennis, paddle, pickleball, squash and working out in the gym. We talked to the owner, Brian, who's friendly and very helpful, for our initial assessment & goal-setting, and through the machine scan, he explained in detail the roadmap for each of us and how long it would take, and we began our journey of 2x/wk personal training. We were soon paired with our wonderful trainer, Ajit, and we couldn't be happier with him - Ajit truly cares about your goals, pushes you when you need it, patiently explains and answers questions so that we increase our fitness/body knowledge, and is just a cool dude to work with. He's serious but easygoing and isn't one of those trainers who're too brash, talks your ear off, or too distant. In a month, we requested another body scan and I've made noticeable gains in muscle mass, so we were all pretty excited! The place is a bit cramped, split into 2 rooms, but it's clean and well-maintained. They're going to expand to downstairs so hopefully there would be more space and bench presses(!). I first joined in 2018 and it's sad to see how downhill the corporation has gone. The glory days ended shortly after the COVID pandemic. Since then, they've closed over 7 NJ locations, cut down opening hours, cut down on group classes, removed towel service, and have limited sauna and pool hours. I understand that it took time for gyms to recover and get back into full swing. But it's 2025 now. There's way too much competition in the fitness industry for 24 to be operating the way it is. My biggest ick? The gym is not maintained well at all. Machines and equipment are broken down for months. There's a hand dryer in the women's bathroom that has been out of order since last Spring. There's a constant foul smell in certain areas, most likely due to broken pipes. There's always a problem with the AC during summer months, making it uncomfortably hot. The entire facility needs a deep cleaning from head to toe. What are we paying a maintenance fee for? Come on... Putting the negatives aside, there are some positives. *The floor has all of your basic equipment: treadmills, bikes, stairmasters, squat racks, barbells, benches, dumbbells, kettlebells, TRX, cables, and machines. I can recommend this gym for beginner to intermediate lifters. It's not a bodybuilder or powerlifting gym. *Their Zumba classes are SO MUCH FUN. Don't judge a book by its cover... get in there!!! Take Lucia, Lynn, Nina, or Melissa's classes. Check the website for the full class schedule. *They have a sauna, steam room, pool, and showers with limited hours. I only use the sauna and it's relaxing when it's not super crowded. *The front desk staff is friendly and welcoming. They're personable and will remember you. *My membership allows me to have access to other regional locations as well as bringing guests. Pricing is a bit all over the place. It all depends on when you join, what kind of membership you have, and what sales/promotions are going on. Some members pay $24 or $34 a month, while others are paying $54. It's best to ask the front desk what the lowest rate is. Overall, it's not the worst gym in the world. It gets the job done for my fitness routine. I just wish the maintenance was a lot better and that they would have later hours. Honestly, I've been thinking about finding another gym. If it weren't for the friends and community I've made and my lower price rate, I would have left awhile ago. I'm willing to spend more $$$ on a membership for a much better experience.

He informed me that he's not the janitor and I needed to chill. He said he told management about they situation and they don't care. I know that's not the case because they do. Sadly, anyone who used the bathroom there today went right back to the gym equipment sans handwash. Elijah had much bigger fish to fry.

(Quite reasonable) Not for its court quality. (Low ceiling, but ok) I am giving "zero" for the owner's unacceptable attitude in addressing an incident. The manner he talks to customers, abruptly, absolutely rudely, no explanation what so ever. And if you reply and ask for "why", his response is "You cannot use the facility anymore. I can kick you out." Authority .....? "I can kick you out and ban all of you." Yes, he is one of the partners and yes, he may have the authority. But, if there is no sign of what to caution, and no warning, no explanation, then he cannot enforce such. His attitude of disrespecting the customers condescendingly was so unacceptable that we ended our membership there. We will not be going back.

I really enjoy their teaching styles. The lessons are fun, very instructive, and fellow learners are always very friendly. Reasonable rates ($25 for ~2 hours). Highly recommend. They offer indoor winter classes as well! Classes are offered at this location (Fort Washington Park) and Frederick Johnson Playground.
