The event was organized well, security noted at the front. I felt safe being there. Parking was easy to get to, free and large lot. Event was held next to the parking lot; you see the entrance pathway. Staff members were helpful with check-ins, and I received my nice wine glass/dish upon checking in. Got to try a lot of red wine, seltzers, beer, and other spirits. Got to meet new people, including some vendors which were super nice to talk to. Getting to know about businesses that wanted more exposure. I loved going to the photo booth several times. I was able to use props and make my photoshoots more fun. Really nice memories. The weather was perfect too. Couldn't ask for more. Overall, since it was a much smaller event, it felt like I was able to taste most of the spirits available.

I would never pay full price for this event directly through VIP Social Events' website or even a higher cover at the door of the venue. Upon arrival to the venue, it became very apparent that there were way more dudes than chicks. Ok, as a chick, I should have been intrigued. Rather, it was obvious that VIP does not follow its own age policy of 24-44. There were several rather older men and a couple of older women. sorry guys, but if you are old enough to be my father or if you have a toupee, I have to draw the line. After being forced to give contact info, a lock, and a briefing, my friend and I started working the room. Ladies and gents beware! You will have the opportunity to meet many singles and have conversations, but there are quite a few super creepy people without manners at these things. Some people go around trying to find their match to get a raffle ticket and not to talk to people. They will jab their key or lock in your face, interrupt your conversations you are having with nice people, and will bug you multiple times during the night. The website advertised that participants are guaranteed to have at least 3 matches, and yet my lock never unlocked! Wait.. maybe that's a metaphor I'm supposed to listen to! Nonetheless, I brought this to the attention of the organizer and he blew me off and gave me a raffle ticket. I didn't care for a ticket. It's principle of what they advertise! I did have a few interesting conversations, but I do not think they were because of the lock and key ice breaker. There are still plenty of people who are too shy to approach the opposite sex even with this ice breaker, and there are still way too many cocky and confident people who interrupt interesting conversations. It was ok as an event. It was organized and it was nice to meet new people. That was the goal for the night and that was accomplished. However, I don't know if I would go to one of these events again. I met several men who had been to multiple events... hmm... hmm....

My friend Adam has his 50th Film inspired birthday here recently and Gina, Terrel and Dave were nothing short of amazing in helping us get set up the day before as well as helping keep the flow with Liane + Doug (our bartenders for the night of). Mayflower Club has tons of tables, chairs and even some booth space. A few rules to keep things preserved, clear and safe while enjoying yourself. The form to request and event is pretty detailed and the communication is stellar. It was so amazing to see all Adam's and the M.C. work come together for an magical event. Gina our doorperson for a large of the night dressed up as Mia Wallace!! Pulp Fiction realness! Terrel was really kind and subbed in for her and made sure everything was going okay while Dave was tech support via lights and sound. We had two local friends and drag queens perform for us throughout the night Miss Shell Shock (of The Bullet Bar's twice a month weekday drag show) aka Volta Charge and the Official Lil Blu Pill herself Vi'Agra - great music queues via Dave and that spotlight did it's thing. There are stuffed animals and ephemeral from 100 years of exploration by its former members, including Buddy Ebsen, John Anson Ford, Sterling Hayden, and Dick Kelty of Kelty backpack fame. They have a weekly dinner and discussion open to the general public, and while the dinner isn't much to speak of, the proceeds goes to keeping the club afloat, so is a well worth the cost just for the experience of visiting at least once.

Yet the experience was nothing more than displeasing... The Bingo event itself was a 10 game 3 card set, and it cost $20 for charity, awesome! But, little did we know that playing Bingo here would come with ridicule, hostility, and a vibe of just "getting this over with". The even was slated to start at 7:00 so we arrived at 6:30 to eat, but they didn't start till 7:30 without even telling anyone waiting, which began to annoy many customers. The intermission was also supposed to be 15 minutes but when from 8:05 to 8:40... As the game went on, they would call the balls so rapidly that it was very difficult to process and keep up. In addition, they don't display them. When they were asked to slow down, he gave a stern "No.", which honestly came off as a racially charged response to the woman just trying to keep up. They just do this for your money, it most likely doesn't go to charity, and they don't have a sense of actually just having a good time playing bingo. Hamburger Mary's needs to reassess this event and their continuation of the "Bingo Boy" ...who is essentially just that. Acting like a child, trying to get what he wants. Which is just money.

Why else is Legendary Bingo so much cooler than regular ol' Bingo? ~Well for starters, you have a great Drag Queen (Belle Aire) calling the Bingo numbers. ~All the creative things that go along with calling the Bingo numbers (O-68- I'll owe you one) ~If you call out Bingo and you don't have it, you get spanked. Yes we witnessed this; you know who you are. ;) ~When you do win, you have to run around so everyone can throw their crumpled up loser Bingo cards at you ~The prizes are interesting to say the least. My wife and I won several man on man porn DVDs in a bag full of condoms and lube. Even if we have absolutely no use for any of this, it was still hilarious to win it! It was especially hilarious when another girl won and our Bingo announcer made a joke about how all the lesbians are winning the porn...umm, yeah....she wasn't a lesbian! Oh, we laughed so hard! So now we have a buttload of condoms and lube (bun pun intended) and know a cool place to spend Wednesday nights! We were lucky enough to find street parking on a rainy night, and the rain was nice enough to stop for us when it was time to leave. Bingo is $20 (wifey and I shared). Alcohol and food are available and the servers keep coming around, even amid the Bingo card throwing. If you are drinking a lot, you might want to have a friend play with you so you don't miss an important box on your stripper pole or rim job! I just feel sorry for whoever has to clean this place up when the night is over. The floor is *covered* in crumpled up Bingo cards and anything else people could think of throwing!

There is wonderful dance music to listen too or dance and yes very easy to just talk and get acquainted. Everyone is very friendly and you will feel quite comfortable at the parties..so try it and find out for yourself...nothing to lose but happiness awaits The food is s great so come early and you will have a great time. And yes the prices are very reasonable. The crowd in attendance is all ages and very many pretty single well dressed Chinese ladies to meet and talk too. Cindy really cares about her clients and is a wonderful woman that wants to bring eternal happiness to all her many thousands of clients over the years. She is the best!

Update -- One Year Later…read more It's been about a year since I wrote my original review, and I haven't had any contact with Cindy's Singles since then. With a year of distance, my opinion hasn't changed. Looking back, I felt the service benefited a relatively small group of members who seemed to receive most of Cindy's attention and matchmaking effort. Once I signed up and paid, I didn't feel she had much interest in actually helping me succeed. Since leaving Cindy's Singles, I've had far more dates through dating apps and meeting women on my own than I ever did through the service. After several years around Cindy's Singles and paying for two memberships, I can say it simply wasn't a good experience for me. I would not join again.
