Not your grandma's bingo for sure! This is fast-paced, randy, boozy drag queen bingo~ They aren't kidding when they say they'll spank you with a paddle for calling a false bingo. Crowd and host(ess) are equally LOUD and rowdy, so I would come back with some earplugs. Witnessed a chick at a neighboring table fall from her stool because she was piss drunk...and she had to be carried out~ Yes, it really is THAT nuts! I actually thought I smelled vomit but it turned out to be asiago from someone's spinach dip. Food is typical bar fare. I stuck to finger foods (half orders of fried mac and cheese balls & fried pickles were approx $5 each) that would not get in the way of my game. $20 bingo is available Wednesdays and Sundays. Giant drinks...don't order a double. Just don't! A double (more like, quadruple) goose and soda cost $15. The valet charged me $4 to self park in the side lot.

Katrina got to host!

Never fails to not entertain me. This is the 3rd no 4th no 5th? 7th? AH well point taken, I've been here many times and truly enjoy bringing new people to experience this AWESOME place. Jefferey is an incredible host here. He brings out the best of bingo as well his guests do. The servers at Mary's are such sweethearts! Makes me feel like family almost. I do have to say I'm a bit bitter for never ever winning, but don't you worry I got my little mischievous plans for next time ;) Newcomers: Like I've said before ; Don't expect this to be a boring ole bingo, get ready to get your panties wet, throw some trash, and get your yelling on b-e-c-a-u-s-e... Who thought Bingo was only for your grandmas & grandpas??? Come to Hamburger Mary's and you'd be surprised that Bingo is so damn fun for everyone, well, not all ages are permitted, as long as you're 21, you're good to enter!!! First and foremost, thank you Katrina M for arranging this UYE and made a deal with Hamburger Mary's just for us, crazy Yelpers, we totally had a fun night and it wouldn't be as great without your help in making reservation and such!!! Now onto the real review! =) For $20 donation, you got to enjoy BINGO and having fun with your friends. Food was definitely a let-down, but last night we weren't here for that. About 25 of us were there for hell-of-a-fun night of BINGO and how do we play it??? LOUDLY!!! One person from our group won the big prize that included Ray-Ban sunglasses, $100 Apple Gift Cert, one bottle of Grey Goose Vodka and many more stuff inside the basket. It's so good to pelt people when they won each game, while they were running around the restaurant!!! I definitely can't wait to come back and do this once in awhile, it's so much fun and brings up old memories when I was playing Bingo at home with friends!!! In this place, once you do DRAG, you could NEVER go back!!!

Oh man, Wednesday nights at Hamburger Mary's is a MUST! Where else can will you find hot drag queens spanking people's bottoms with a bingo paddle, the opportunity to pelt someone with losing bingo cards, an actor from The L Word teaching you the sign for "rim job" and "lesbian", sexy prize baskets, and delicious food? I can't think of ANYWHERE else! It was such a fun experience and best of all my friends and I had to best seats in the house! We were lucky enough to not have to wait in line, got free appetizers (calamari, wings, etc.), and extra bingo cards b/c one of my friends had won their "FREE BINGO NIGHT" package from another Bingo night (it also came with tons of sex toys, lubes, etc). I heard that it usually costs $20 for about 6-8 rounds, but if you give them your email addie, then it will only cost you $10. I didn't have to pay for my Bingo sheets since my friend had an extra set. YAY!!!!!! I suggest you get there early because my friends said there was a lonnnng line when they got there. I arrived just after they let everyone in AND snagged an awesome parking spot right outside HM so I completely missed the line and wait. YAY! Too bad I wasn't as lucky with my Bingo gaming. I was almost always 1 spot away from BINGO and then someone else would win! Just FYI, if you and another person calls BINGO at the same time, there will be a tie breaker. The drag queen will grab a bunch of balls and you and your competition will have to choose one from his/her hand and whomever gets the bigger # is the winner. The loser then chooses a random prize from their American Idol Bag of Crap. It usually consists of stickers or markers from the 99 cent store or something to that effect. It was such a great night. I want to go again!!

Geez. Where the hell do I start. I've been invited to this bingo event before by various friends. I've always turned it down. Hand it to some yelpers who finally got me to go to this friggin' place. Coming from a strictly heterosexual male, I can honestly say this about Legendary Bingo @ Hamburger Mary's: FAB - YOO - LUSS Considering the price, time and money you can spend elsewhere... HM seems like a bargain compared to the entertainment you receive there. For a suggested donation of $20 bucks you get a set of bingo cards that will last you a couple of hours. Add to that some $5 margarita and martini specials? Can't knock that. Even if the drinks are more mixer than alcohol. Just pound em and get tipsy on the volume of liquid. (They will upsell you to a double shot for $2 more) The food prices are expected and nothing you haven't seen before. The food is standard bar food. Greasy and hot. But you're not coming to Hamburger Mary's for food. Bitch please. You're not coming to HM for a hamburger. You're coming here for Marys. Drag Queens galore. They make an old folks game into something fun. You can't help but have fun. You can resist but soon you'll find yourself screaming and cheering for the next number. Cheering LOUDLY!!! In a short while you'll either want to get pelted... or get bent over for a spank. I came in a little hesitant. That resistance went away quickly once you feel the energy of the room. Jefferey, Bingo Boy, is a fantastic Master of Ceremony. He keeps the pace going with interesting twists on the games, some cheeky remarks and enough cheeseballs jokes. He makes it quick and easy for newcomers. He's quite gentle on the virgins. Its made and easier and fun process because of all the lube available. The gift bags they offer as prizes are worth winning. Lots of cool schwag. The movies alone are worth winning. All first run movies, most in Blu Ray... not crap DVD from the Target bin. I'd venture to say, if I were culminating one of those 'must do in LA' lists, I would put Legendary Bingo @ Hamburger Mary's on that list! p.s. if you stay for bingo... you gotta stay for the burlesque show afterwards. http://www.yelp.com/biz/follies-burgere-hamburger-marys-west-hollywood#hrid:YmWEyqUnUgnIIxQ6YAtEvw Props to Katrina M. and her booty for organizing the UYE that popped my drag queen - bingo cherry.

Eat. Drink. Be Mary!

It's not Bingo until you get smacked on your ass by a gorgeous drag queen named Belle Aire! Well at least that's how it worked for me when I thought I had won the current round of Bingo and was in fact very, very mistaken. Legendary Bingo at Hamburger Mary's has got to be one of the BEST ways to do a good deed. You pay 20 dollars to play the funnest 10 rounds of bingo you have EVER played and all the money goes to the group or charity that they are sponsoring that night. But Beware! There are some very competitive people that come to this event (aka: our table) and if you win, you will run around the restaurant all while being "pelted" by the losers with their crushed up (losing) Bingo cards. The pelting however, is totally worth it! You get awesome gifts! I can attest to this as I actually did end up winning last night and went home with a bag full of beauty products, soaps, t-shirts, condoms and a In-Home Makeover! Sadly though, there was no porn in my bag (many of the other prizes included porn)... Other perks include the celebrity announcers that sometimes show up. Last night Louis from Dancing with the Stars was there. And man is he ever so yummy! I am definitely looking forward to going back to Bingo soon! Did someone say G-54? "Ooo! Oooo! "

Recipe for Legendary WeHo Bingo -- * 6 parts Yelpers * 20 dollars * 2 parts Drag Queen * 1 part Bingo Boy * Generous helping of celebs calling the balls * Dash of callbacks that are raunchy-goodness ("Legs to Heaven" B-11!) * Sprinkle of names of special Bingo-named games like Rim Job, to taste ;-)~ Mix all parts equally and keep cocktails flowing throughout the night. (Charity is sexy.)

A gorgeous venue, a historic landmark with the architecture design. The space is huge almost feels like a maze if it's your first time there. You're bound to get lost if the space is packed with folks I might say. They have balconies overlooking the beauty of the space on the 2nd level and multiple rooms in one. The outside area holds a spacious space for a crowd to socialize. I've been here twice now and both were for music industry events that were curated on behalf of Grammy week. Many industry professionals were gathered and live music was performed with some vendors present, catering to the guests with what they offered. The staff were very friendly and got us checked in and told us it was open seating. The theater was large and spacious and there was plenty of seating to choose from. Despite being an older theater, the seats were still pretty comfortable. It was a free show and it was a dance company primarily performing hip hop and Latin dance. The quality of the show was superb and the sound quality was also fantastic as the music really took over the space. It was easy to see everything going on. Afterwards, they had a chance to interact with the dancers in their gorgeous lobby and outdoor space. I would highly recommend attending their Sunday programming!

From the gorgeous costumes to the seamless scene transitions, every detail was beautifully executed. The set design and overall production quality were truly spectacular, and I thoroughly enjoyed every moment. The sound quality was excellent. I could clearly understand everything the actors were saying, even from my seat in the back of the Orchestra section. The live orchestra was phenomenal--the music was absolutely beautiful and added so much emotion and energy to the performance. The theater itself is gorgeous. During intermission, I walked upstairs to take in the entire space, and I was in awe of how beautiful and grand the venue is. It's worth taking a few minutes to explore and appreciate the architecture. I sat in the Orchestra section, Section ZZ, on the far left end. While the seats were still enjoyable, my view was partially obstructed by the overhang from the upper level. There was also a scene involving the iconic chandelier where I wished I had been seated a bit closer so I could fully appreciate the effect and see more of the theater from that perspective. Intermission was about 20 minutes long, which gave everyone enough time to stretch, explore the theater, and grab refreshments. They offer a full bar, wine, snacks like candy and pretzels, and souvenirs are also available for purchase during intermission. One tip: as soon as intermission begins, head straight to the women's restroom. I was able to get there right away and was first in line. Within minutes, the line became incredibly long! The employees were also incredibly friendly and professional. They did a great job ensuring guests stayed off their phones so the bright screens wouldn't distract others during the performance. I also appreciated that once the show started, late seating was held for approximately the first 10 minutes to minimize disruptions. After that, guests were allowed to enter and exit as needed. Even with the partially obstructed view, the performance was so incredible that it didn't take away from the overall experience. If you're planning to attend, I would recommend sitting a little closer if your budget allows. Regardless, it's an unforgettable experience, and I can't wait to return to the Hollywood Pantages for another show.

There's something about this place that feels quintessentially Los Angeles. You're tucked into the Hollywood Hills on a warm summer evening, watching the sun go down while thousands of people from every age and background slowly become one crowd with one soundtrack. For a couple of hours, everyone is there for the same reason. Makes you believe. What surprised me this time was how easy the whole experience felt. We stayed nearby at The Aster (highly recommend), grabbed Sweetfin beforehand , and Uber drop-off and pickup were both incredibly smooth. Sometimes LA events feel like you're fighting traffic and logistics all night. This felt effortless. If you're sitting in the upper bench sections, I'd absolutely rent a seat cushion. The benches are a little tight, but don't let that discourage you. You're surrounded by the Hollywood Hills, the lights slowly come on as the sun goes down, and the atmosphere is just magic. I've been to several concerts here, but this unexpectedly became one of my favorite nights at the Bowl. The music was fantastic, the nostalgia didn't hurt, and I honestly think the venue elevates the experience for everyone... the audience and the performers alike. If you're visiting Los Angeles, or you've somehow lived here without ever going, put it on your list. There really is nothing else quite like a summer night at the Hollywood Bowl.

I have never been shot nor hardly ever told to leave. I have wandered into Courtyards, sacred sites in Old Jerusalem and all kinds of buildings that I'm not supposed to go into. Tonight I was invited to my old twin friends birthday party at the Lemon Grove at the Astor Hotel rooftop and I was a tad early. As I crossed the street there was a metal stanchion blocking most of the entrance to the Avalon Club with one door open. I wandered in and people were milling about setting up for an Emo night with the band called Waiting For April. I had seen this club change over the years but I had no idea it was still operating and it's a beauty with tremendous history and cavernous rooms with bars and side rooms. I wandered around and upstairs I found a merch table and a drum kit with guitars and some guys warming up. I started talking to them and it turns out that is the headlining band. We talked music and the struggles of a young band, I gave them some insight from my experience, they gave me their CD which is quite nice and I proceeded to check out the historic place. I wandered through every part of the club while the band was doing sound check including the Bardot room and unlike many clubs, you really feel the history here in the design and architecture of this historic venue. Here is the fascinating history: The Avalon Hollywood (also known simply as Avalon) at 1735 N. Vine Street in Hollywood, California, near the intersection of Hollywood Boulevard and Vine Street (across from the Capitol Records Building) was built in the Spanish Baroque (Churrigueresque) style by architects Henry L. Gogerty and Carl Jules Weyl, with decoration by Steffan Horbaczek, it has operated continuously as a live performance space since opening--never as a movie theater. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1985 as part of the Hollywood Boulevard Commercial and Entertainment Historic District. It started as the Hollywood Playhouse (1927-1930s). In 1942, the theater was purchased (reportedly for around $105,000) and renamed the El Capitan Theatre (distinct from the more famous one on Hollywood Boulevard). NBC acquired or leased the building in the early 1950s and converted it into a television studio. In 1963, ABC invested heavily (around $400,000) in renovations--including extending the stage, adding camera equipment, control booths, and other TV infrastructure--and briefly renamed it the Jerry Lewis Theatre for Jerry Lewis's short-lived (13-week) ABC variety series. From 1964-1970: it was The Hollywood Palace. From 1970s-1990s: The Palace Music Venue. ABC sold the theater in 1978 to businessman Dennis Lidtke, who restored it and reopened it in 1982 (or around 1987 per some accounts) as The Palace (sometimes called the Hollywood Palace). Seating was reconfigured for concerts (raked floor leveled, bands on stage), and it became a music club and event space. It hosted rock concerts, HBO specials (e.g., Sheena Easton, Bruce Willis), the Ramones' final show (1996), the American Music Awards, and film appearances. It operated as a live music venue through the 1980s and 1990s. 2002-Present: Avalon Hollywood Nightclub with a major renovation that transformed it into a modern nightclub, concert hall, and event space with standing-room/dance floor capacity (around 1,250-1,500), state-of-the-art sound, lighting, and visuals. It emphasizes electronic dance music (EDM), DJ sets, and live performances, with upstairs space later becoming Bardot, an intimate lounge/restaurant/club opened around 2008. Notable modern acts have included Tiësto, Sasha, John Digweed, Paul Oakenfold, Skrillex, Swedish House Mafia, Eric Prydz, Armin van Buuren, Kaskade, and many others in the EDM scene. It has also hosted award shows, benefits, screenings, political fundraisers, and private events. In recent years (2024-2025), Insomniac Events (founded by Pasquale Rotella) partnered with and then acquired the joint marking the first ownership change in about 50 years and ensuring its continued role in dance music culture. The Avalon has adapted remarkably over nearly a century--from legitimate theater and WPA productions to burlesque, TV studio, variety show epicenter, rock club, and EDM nightclub--while retaining its core as a live entertainment landmark in the heart of Hollywood. Its architecture and location have contributed to its enduring appeal. I definitely will return.

WEHO Pride 2026…read more Before Pride Month officially ends, I could NOT leave without giving WEHO Pride the review it deserves. Some experiences live rent free in your head... and this was one of them. This year was our second year walking with Project Angel Food and somehow it was even more magical than the first. I had the honor of leading the parade with my son (with my husband under the balloon), which meant we got to set the tone from the start--twirling PAF flags, dancing the entire route, hyping up the crowd, and enthusiastically yelling "HAPPY PRIDE!" approximately 500 times (and loving every second of it). As if that wasn't iconic enough, Kym Whitley and Caroline Rhea followed behind us in the car and the crowd absolutely LOST IT every time they rolled through. And can we talk about the KTLA anchors?! They brought amazing energy all day--especially Melvin Robert! We got to chat before the parade and immediately bonded over our matching yellow moment. Coincidence? I think not. One thing WEHO Pride always gets right is the energy. Everywhere you looked there were families, friends, allies, adorable pets, sunshine, rainbow disco vibes, and people genuinely celebrating and showing up for each other. There was laughter, music, dancing, joy, and so much LOVE in the air. WEHO Pride... you did it again!!! Five stars. No notes. Already mentally planning next year's outfit and counting down until year three with Project Angel Food. ‍

From our victories to our struggles, our leather folks, our allies and so many people from all walks of life coming together to be unapologetically truthful to ourselves and in the moment. The Sunday parade is always a good time and as multi-year parade marcher with various orgs including the Leather Contingent of West Hollywood, the Imperial Court of Los Angeles and Hollywood, numerous non-profits and supporter of so many great brands and groups that stretch down Santa Monica Blvd is worth it every single year, but maybe in more sensible shoes then thick cut leather boots. Celebrating small and local businesses via vendors, food spots and the bar life is a must. Motherlode was the hot spot for the bulk of the post parade fun, but absolutely check out personal favorites like Gym Bar, Schmitty's, Trunks and others. Roosterfish we meet again, but a last your VIP unnecessary entrance we had to expel a, "Hard pass!" Music was amazing and hanging out with so many of my chosen fam, fellow leather titleholder siblings, and making plenty of new friends was the vibe and then some. Everyone singing, "Like A Prayer" remixed by Madonna is something that will stay with me for a very long time. And the Mel C. DJ set. Highly recommend a rideshare, LA Metro or carpooling as parking is beyond sparse during this weekend, especially the day of the parade.
