Pool is disgusting same with locker rooms. Whole gym needs better maintenance. Pool looks like it hasn't been cleaned in weeks.

My girlfriend almost got beat up by a man at this gym over a machine that he thought he owned he said some really disgusting things about her and basically told her he'd hit her if she didn't get off of his machine. He stole her drink and called her terrible names and threw her drink away. She told management and nothing was done because they have a private relationship with him and she's new so clearly they would take his side they seem like they really like woman beaters at this gym. My girlfriend made sure to not be rude back because had she been rude back she would not be alive. He looked like he was roid raging and was mad that she was lifting more than him on "his" machine. This place is disgusting and shameful they need to be sued. We cancelled our membership their pool and jacuzzi was pretty filthy anyway and they are too cheap for air conditioning that's why your always hearing about people fainting or having heart attacks at this gym they have absolutely no air flow plus it looks like a prison somewhere in a 3rd world country that praises woman beaters not to mention, they don't even have enough parking outside like where are we in San Francisco? Since Prescott got a recall on some machines, leading to less leg day equipment. I dont skip leg day, so I came back to Mchenery. This my home now, more machines=more of me. The only problem is the little dumbells are always missing or misplaced, like a noticeable amount. With that being said I am the guy Hercules looked up to. Very clean facilities! Staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and always willing to go the extra mile to help. The pool is well kept so make reservations early otherwise the lap pool fills up! I just finished with the Silver Strength class and speaking professionally as a RN, I can recommend this class for improving range of motion and flexibility, as long as you listen to Pam the instructor who gives great options if you're not able to do the exercise. For parents, the kids love their play area here and the staff take great care of the them! Overall, this is a great place to get your workout in and make friends as there is a positive "gym bro" culture here and everyone is looking for the best results for each other! read more

In -Shape Fitness is located in Modesto California off of Mchenry Ave. I had visited this fitness center a few times being in the area as self as I had traveled using own personal transporation. Fitness guest pass had been generated for usage. This location is awesome. Front desk staffs check in station is directly right in front, and towels are as well provided at location. Locker rooms are separate for men and women. Area for parking spaces are open for locals and for those whom are visiting. As interactions with customer service associates and if towards any other fitness members if any would be primarily communicated in via English only. I normally when travel have my own workout gear and towels and lock for locker room safety. My own personal changes of clothing, and routine hygiene is also of self brought along. Hydration center is located on site for purchase at this fitness. I feel some staff members like to get members in trouble and their management is on a tower trip. I left my bag with mi phone, bank card, car keys and other stuff in the locker the gym, I went to work out and when I came back the lock was gone and all my stuff. I went to the front desk to report it and they did not do anything, I asked what am im going to do now, everything was in there , even my car keys and they said "we don't know" . I asked for the manager but she was not there, they said that next day she was going to call me, what she never did. so I called after that day and spoke to her and she said sorry there is nothing we can do. Lucky me, I had a complementary pass to try out the club, moving here from the L.A. area. People were coming in the sauna and steam room with dirty shoes on. I did ask them to leave dirty shoes outside the sauna. One man told me to f..k off mine my own business. I was sitting in the sauna to detox. I decided not going to join. I've been going to InShape for about 4.5 years now, and I absolutely love it. The staff is always extremely friendly and knowledgeable. The manager, Darae, makes you feel at home. There's no other place like this. I've tried several other gyms in the area, but this is the one that sticks. They offer a great selection of drinks and snacks at the front, endless treadmills, workout areas, and machines. All the classes are included in your membership, so you really get your money's worth.
