Really took her time and was very detailed, had a nice relaxing room with soothing music. Eyebrow threading only cost $16 which is much cheaper compared to most places in the area. They do charge 3% if you use your credit card, plenty of street parking, will definitely make this my go-to eyebrow threading place in the future! read more

I don't usually leave negative reviews, but I was really disappointed with my experience. I booked a haircut and style online for $50. My stylist was 30 minutes late, and I left the salon with wet, frizzy hair instead of the finished style I had paid for. On top of that, I was charged $74 because of my hair length, even though the online booking showed $50. I contacted the salon about my experience and was told someone would be getting back to me. That was over a week ago, and I still haven't received a call or any follow-up. Mistakes happen, but what was most disappointing was the lack of communication and customer service. A simple phone call or an effort to address my concerns would have gone a long way. However, the website pricing is deceiving...he is listed for partial highlights with cut at 175 - no "starting at" noted next to the price. Honestly I'm so disappointed. I went here and had Laura do my hair 6 weeks ago and had done it red, (permanent color). Color was completely gone within 2 washes (using shampoo for colored hair). I got 2 options, 1: temporary red and it washes out for $80 or 2: permanent and it takes couple months to fade $180. I had picked option 2 and it only lasted me 2 week and I was so disappointed and so upset. I came back for a 6week appt today, I let her know about to problem and she let me know she had done a temporary color, which is not what I paid for and not what I wanted. I got ripped off $100 extra. So I let it go and asked her to just do a toner but with brown , I was told this was $40 6 weeks ago and somehow today I was charged $60. My mother also tried to make an appointment with her couple weeks ago and the girls in the front desk told her she doesn't work here and just hung up. (Laura still works there) Being a business woman, even if someone doesn't work their anymore, to keep business going you try to recommend someone else in the same salon instead of just hangi Long story short- I got ripped off and didn't get what I wanted either first appointment or 2nd appointment today. Rachel saved me! The 4 years I've been living in Florida I haven't found anyone who can cut my hair properly. It's honestly depressing! I went in to get my hair cut yesterday & I was just going to get a trim, because at this point I barely even trust anyone to handle my hair with a pair of scissors. So I figured a trim is a safer choice, less for someone to butcher & mess up. After talking with Rachel about the type of hair I have (fine & very straight), the end result I would like to have, & just different hair techniques & styles, I could tell she knew what she was talking about. I gave her the go ahead to cut my hair to the way she thinks will look good on me & also to give me side bangs. Now that's a huge decision for me - I had bangs cut 2 years ago & they were butchered & really really short & I've been trying to grow them out ever since. And I told her to go ahead & do side bangs because I trusted that she understood what I wanted & how to achieve that result. I am so happy that I ended up getting Rachel yesterday! I haven't felt this excited about my hair in a LONG TIME. The picture doesn't really do enough justice to the hair transformation she created. I'm so happy that I finally found a great stylist! =) Also - they have the most comfortable shampoo stations in existence! Even if you have back/neck problems, you will love their shampoo stations because they have a shelf-like platform that holds & supports your head, which prevents your neck from having to hold your head up which is the main reason why most shampoo stations are so uncomfortable. I always have a hard time finding someone who can cut my hair. It looks one way wet and another way dry. Ashley F. is wonderful! I'm horrible at verbally expressing the way I want my hair to look, or am not sure what needs to be done to have it look a certain way, and Ashley can always figure it out and know exactly what I want. She takes the time to get you know you so she can cut your hair to your needs. Ashley is also the type to take her time to make sure every strand is accounted for. Some hairstylists will rush to get it done if their next client is out in the lobby waiting, but Ashley won't. She makes sure you get her full attention until your hair is perfect. The salon is very big and open. They have a great hair washing station...the type that doesn't kill your neck every time you lean back. They also offer beverages if you're thirsty. Parking is usually easy to find whether it be on the street or in the parking lots nearby. read more

I have had really mixed experiences at this salon. I've had some incredible facials and eyebrow waxes here, but unfortunately every good esthetician seems to go elsewhere after a short period of time. That said, the salon is very responsive to customer feedback. I was once called about an hour before my appointment and informed that the esthetician no longer worked at In Style Baldwin Park, but I could go to the one in Waterford Lakes for a discounted rate- although the communication between the salons about this issue was choppy, I ultimately did receive a discounted facial- and it was really one of the best I have ever had. They also offered me a free facial at the Baldwin Park location to use when they hire a new esthetician- very accommodating. I need to mention one other incident- I came to the salon recently for a trim and style before a photo shoot, and my stylist ran late, made a few random chauvinistic comments and almost dropped the blow dryer a couple of times- as he caught it, it hit me in the head :( really the strangest experience I have had with a stylist and its the only time I have ever felt like paying and leaving before the job is done. The stylist also misquoted the price of the service to me by about $10- I found out when I got to the counter. It seemed a bit odd to me- but maybe he was new to the salon. I keep coming back to In Style Baldwin Park because its so close to where I live, but some other places (mostly in Winter Park) seem to be more consistent with their procedures, communication, customer service, and quality of services. Eyebrow treading review. Setting up an appointment was easy unlike many places that thread and have you waiting for an unscheduled time. The place was very clean and she was pleasant. I do have low maintenance brows that don't need major shaping. I knocked off a star for the price, it's pricier than most threading cost, but I came here since it's walking distance. After 15+ years of getting threading her method hurt like a mother f***er. Literally felt every hair being tugged out which I never expected since I'n used to threading and get it every 3 weeks. I will try her again and hope it was an one time thing. read more

I had an appointment for getting my eyebrows threaded and the receptionist said that the threader person would be right with me, and for the time being, to feel free to look around the boutique. They have a cute clothes and jewelry boutique in the front, which I found and bought to wear to a wedding I have to attend to this Saturday. The prices are very reasonable for the cute clothes that they carry. In the waiting area, there is complimentary coffee, water, and snacks. Awesome idea to those who are antsy while waiting. My only complaint was the eyebrow threader, Nina, could have been a lot nicer. She didn't seem too friendly and appeared to be stressed. There was no conversation at all walking to the chair, during the threading (which I understand she couldn't talk at the time) and after the threading. I'm sure she could have done a better job too. But because of her, I'm not going to bring down this review to a "4 star." This is a 5 star place. Staff (besides Nina) was very friendly, I'm happy I was able to find a dress there, and get my brows done. I'll go again. Hopefully I won't get the same eyebrow threader. read more

Gorgeous location but, then again, what isn't gorgeous in Baldwin Park. I do love what they did with the architecture and huge, vaulted ceilings and open rooms. Everything can easily be sectioned off for private parties which is cool. I was here for a jewelry event by Jeanette S this past week and was introduced to the space and lovely staff. I met their Esthetician, Leslie Coker, during the event and she gladly gave me a lovely tour of the entire venue including the nail salon, massage rooms and her esthetician area. While she was explaining all of the services she offers I could see the excitement coming off of her about how much she loved her job. We got to talking about skin, my history, her history and before I knew it I was booking an appointment for a personalized facial the next day. For only $70 and with a woman who lives to take care of skin, I could not pass this up. I went the next day at 2pm and spent a wonderful hour and a half with Leslie. She has a cup of camomile tea waiting for me upon arrival and really made me feel comfortable especially since I told her since my skin was so sensitive and reacts weird how hesitant I was. She asked if I wanted silence to relax or if she should talk me through everything she was doing and I wanted to hear the steps so she informed me of everything which helped me relax. We did a cleansing, a hydration masque, a steam, an extraction, another mask, something to calm my skin and on top of all this, she gave me a hand massage as one of my masks was setting. It was so relaxing and invigorating at the same time. I left feeling so good and I swear my skin was actually glowing. Of course I wanted to try the products she used on me so I grabbed a starter kit of the G.M. Collin skincare line and am currently testing it out. I am about a week in and although my skin did break out in the beginning, it's feeling much less dry and it's clearing up nicely. Overall, such an amazing experience with Leslie and I am completely referring everyone I know to her if we chat about skin care. I can't wait to go see her again! I can tell she really cares about my skin and just wants me to be happy with it. If all this wasn't enough, she emailed me to check in on me... HOW AMAZING? I love this salon, first of all it's in Baldwin park so that already creates a great atmosphere. I went to get my hair done with Lucy twice and I was always amazed with the results. The place is super cute, clean and has a lot of windows that bring in great light. What I love about Instyle, is the personal attention of each stylist. Lucy is not only flexible with my appointment times, but will help me decide what look I should go for. Everyone is so firendly! My favorite part is going to the little french cafe right next door to grab a bite while I'm waiting for my hair to be color processed. I came to In Style with a hair emergency that occurred at another salon. In Style was open on Sunday's which I needed, in order to fix my hair before going to work the next day. From the front desk staff who helped me by finding a stylist that could handle the color correction needed and reassured me that I wouldn't walk out with a catastrophe to Savannah, my stylist, who clearly explained her plan on addressing my hair needs, I was so impressed by the staff. I showed Savannah two pictures - one for where I wanted my color to be and the other for the hair cut I had in mind to cut off the two inches of damage the other salon created in my hair - and away we went. Savannah's attention to detail was amazing. She fixed the color, dried a section, and then we went outside in natural light to make sure I was fine with the color. She did the "outline" of the hair cut, blowdried it, and then painstakingly went section by section to cut out all of the damaged hair. I was so happy to have Rocky, a fellow curly girl like myself take care of me at my last visit. Rocky was able to enhance my dull auburn colored hair into a vibrant and sassy shade of red.
