Unfortunately for us, she also had an upcoming band concert Wednesday evening. All of the other local music shops told me it would take 4 days to a week or more to repair. I was happy and relieved when Stevie said he may be able to get it done in time, I just needed to bring it in and get evaluated. Thankfully, he was able to complete the repair in time for the concert and we picked up some cork grease as well. Would definitely bring her clarinet back anytime we need a repair or other service done.

My very inpatient son after a week in a half asked me to call and get an update. I did but they didn't have an update. A little over 2 weeks I called a they say instrument will be in on Friday. I call they say not ready they will me it went on like that for what felt like for ever.

I had to find a local option so I began my research. I came across several candidates, but none even came close to Jon from Guitar Tune Ups. His reviews are immaculate, which was my first green flag. His prices are unmatched, which was yet another plus, but the most notable quality to me was his ease to communicate with and ease to set up an appointment. For some reason the other shops I contacted seem to think themselves too good for the customer, but Jon is a guitar enthusiast and that is the biggest green flag to me. So far, I am very impressed with how professional they are and how much my kids have enjoyed their lessons. The instructors are very patient and kind. This place is clean and pricing is reasonable. Some other places I was looking at had a much darker atmosphere in terms that they seemed to be geared to older children who liked a gothic style. We ended up setting up a day for me to drop off my guitar. That day I met Kriss and he was very professional. We chatted a bit about the guitar, and music. Super cool dude. That same day he texted to let me know he didn't have a small part and had to order it. But that he also might have an extra. He just wanted to inform me that there may be a delay of 1-2 days. I honestly didn't expect to have it back soon anyways. He communicated with me through the whole processes. This was nice. I mean.. he had my baby (guitar) so that was appreciated. A few days later the guitar was ready. I met with Kriss again and he showed me the work. Man.. the guitar looked gorgeous. We chatted a bit and then I was off. My main concern was the feedback/hum. Plugged it in and nothing. It was a crisp clear sound. Sounded amazing! The setup was great as well. I was happy with the service. It was a few months ago so I can't recall the exact price but it was definitely under $100. Great value for what I received. I have a few other guitars and basses I'll be taking to Kriss.
