Her instructor, Lucas, has been patient and supportive with her. He has been focusing on the important skills and note techniques that will be needed. Most importantly, my daughter loves going to class and plans to continue to developing her skills with private lessons along with what is provided in the classroom. Lucas is formally trained and has a degree in music. I highly recommend him if you are looking for a top notch music instructor who has experience with a multitude of instruments and has a fun positive attitude. I honestly didn't expect to have it back soon anyways. He communicated with me through the whole processes. This was nice. I mean.. he had my baby (guitar) so that was appreciated. A few days later the guitar was ready. I met with Kriss again and he showed me the work. Man.. the guitar looked gorgeous. We chatted a bit and then I was off. My main concern was the feedback/hum. Plugged it in and nothing. It was a crisp clear sound. Sounded amazing! The setup was great as well. I was happy with the service. It was a few months ago so I can't recall the exact price but it was definitely under $100. Great value for what I received. I have a few other guitars and basses I'll be taking to Kriss. I frequent many businesses in the Coachella Valley and often leave reviews about them. Both good…read moreand bad. I took my guitar to Repair Land after another local musician told me it was the only place in the desert that worked on guitars. I later learned that wasn't true. When I walked into the shop, it appeared more like a personal living space than a professional repair facility. I left my guitar for service and, when I picked it up, I was disappointed to find that very little seemed to have been done. The issues I brought it in for were largely unchanged, and I felt that the quality of the work did not justify the cost or effort. After that experience, I attended the guitar festival on Miles Avenue in Indio and spoke with several musicians and vendors. To my surprise, a number of people I spoke with did not recommend Repair Land and shared their own negative opinions and experiences regarding the business. Because the owner has publicly claimed to work on a very large number of instruments each month, some of us became curious about the level of activity at the shop. A vehicle equipped with a camera was parked on the public street nearby over several days, and based on what was observed during that time, there appeared to be very little customer traffic coming and going. Obviously, everyone can draw their own conclusions, but between my personal experience, the feedback I heard from other musicians at the guitar show, and what I observed afterward, I would not trust this shop with another instrument. I would strongly encourage musicians to explore other repair options in the Coachella Valley before making a decision.
