5 Star service from Stevie! My daughter came home from school Monday showing me that a piece of her cork came off. Unfortunately for us, she also had an upcoming band concert Wednesday evening. All of the other local music shops told me it would take 4 days to a week or more to repair. I was happy and relieved when Stevie said he may be able to get it done in time, I just needed to bring it in and get evaluated. Thankfully, he was able to complete the repair in time for the concert and we picked up some cork grease as well. We were recommended Corona music from the school so I had good expectations unfortunately that was not the case. I went in they quoted me $90 for a cleaning and shine with an estimate of 1-2 week turnaround time. I was called the next day to inform me the instrument was going to need more then expected and it went up to $160 SAME turnaround time. My very inpatient son after a week in a half asked me to call and get an update. I did but they didn't have an update. A little over 2 weeks I called a they say instrument will be in on Friday. I call they say not ready they will me it went on like that for what felt like for ever. read more

This place keeps charging my card when my child has not received services from here In over a month this has happened twice now i have called to see if I can get a refund and nobody answers the phone I'm not sure why are they keep running payments if the my child hasn't been going to the sessions kinda sketchy I will be calling my bank to dispute the charges I tried to give them a chance to correct the situation but this has happened twice now and last time it took 3-6 weeks for them to return my money I'm not sure why this keeps happening but I terminated my services and I hope they will not charge my card again read more

I would not recommend Corona Music Center for any kind of lessons. I has scheduled a piano lesson with Jimmy on July 5, and he cancelled because he did not feel well. I can only assume he probably drank to much on the 4th and couldn't make it into work the next day. Okay one time I can over look. I re-made the lesson same time the following week. I just showed up with my 5 year old daughter to find out no one told him he had a lesson. This is so unprofessional. This was also such a waste of my time as well. Unprofessional. I received a Ukelele as a gift. I tried to learn on my own. I guess its possible to learn on your own for some, not me. I went in for lessons and I am making steady progress. Walking in I felt very awkward but my instructor put me at ease I have enjoyed my lessons when I can make them. Being a full time working mom makes those me moments so worth it. read more

I came in looking for a violin case. The guy at the counter was very friendly, and we struck up a nice conversation. Unfortunately, they had no violin cases. None. On the wall next to him, was a single violin. I don't even think it was a full size. He pulled out a catalogue and offered to order a case for me. The selections didn't seem very good, and he didn't seem to know much about them anyway, so I passed. I was also interested in lessons and looked in their lesson rooms. They were the tiniest rooms ever. I mean, if you stand in the middle of the room, you could touch both walls. And I was baffled to see that one of these rooms had a whole drum set in there. Wow. For violins, I would recommend Cruz Violin in Riverside - they've got everything violin, including repairs. And Mr. Cruz is very knowledgeable. Corona Music Center is probably ok for non-violin things like stands and metronomes. I do remember seeing a few violin books too. read more

My daughter has had a few piano lessons here and her instructor Jesus is really nice. I know my daughter has raw musical talent and I am bringing her to Corona Music Center to develop some technique and knowledge. I gave her a random quiz today after her lesson about the different kinds of notes and she knew them - whole note, half note and quarter note. I was impressed. Lots of kids are coming in and out of this store every time we go there with all kinds of instruments. It's pretty refreshing to see kids learning to play real musical instruments these days. We're a month or two in and I feel like we have found a winner here in this local shop. read more

This place rocks! (Sorry, I had to). I originally went in to shop for a guitar for my wife for Christmas. She's a genuine musician and I'm definitely NOT! Long story short, the guy up front was helpful, patient, and never made me feel awkward about asking my dumb questions. I quickly realized on my own that my wife needed to be a part of this decision. I wanted and needed to get it right for her. I asked my newest friend Kyle (the friendly cool guy helping me) if they worked on commission. I wanted to be sure that, when I came back, my purchase could be credited to him. Kyle told me that they don't work off commission and that they'll all jump in to help however they could. I came back with my wife and we met someone else, and they were sure enough just as helpful and patient. My wife chatted them up. A bunch of technical shop talk I didn't understand. They actually talked about multiple instruments and types. Styles of music too. They know their stuff!! Either way, we ended up purchasing an electric piano - hey, that's what my bride wanted! "Happy wife, happy life." But it turned out that the right model was only in stock in their Yorba Linda location. Our newest friend called up that store, and someone there was going to deliver it to us the next day. Cool, right? But my bride was so excited, and yeah, we drive to Yorba Linda because she just had to play her new electric piano that day! Okayyyyy. We get to Yorba Linda, and the lady there was, yet again, way cool and professional. She made a call to the back of the store and guess who came out with the wife's new piano....it was Kyle! (Yes, the same original dude). They do lessons. Every person we ran into was solid. Way cool. Very helpful for me (non-musician) and my wife (musician) alike. They know their stuff. Way cool! These dudes are pompous and have an attitude about them. I've bought multiple guitars and amplifiers here and certain drumming gear. Everything I bought was marked up exponentially. One piece of equipment I bought was marked up by 38% from competitors in the area! I can only imagine what the MSRP on most of their products, probably around 60 - 70%. I went in to get new heads on my drum set and get it tuned it cost me $150 and when it was done he only replaced 4 heads out of 5 and didn't tune it i would never recommend this place to anyone ever they are overpriced and they lied to me read more

I have been going there for various things over the past 25+ years. Yesterday we went in to show our kids instruments to see if they might see something they'd like to learn. The entire staff came together to answer our questions and even play some music for my little ones. They took a lot of time to talk to us and they were so kind and helpful. We always love giving them our business and We will definitely be going here to pick their instruments and to get them lessons. Came in on the fly to get cord for my mic. I just happened to be there. Owner was training a very nervous and fluttered later teen. He was doing fine but owner would correct him before he could correct himself. I don't know how it would be with the owner doing all Customer services.... That can go either way, either they would be awesome or they would nickel and dime the hell out of you. read more

Ok, so this is going to be a rather longish review so bear with me. I hated this place before, I went with my little brother when he wanted to learn how to play for school band and I left less than impressed. They tried to sell me a cheap stagg trumpet for almost $1000.00, for those of you who don't know stagg isn't even name brand, the trumpet I bought before was a yamaha which only cost me 600 bucks brand new. Anyways I asked that dude why and he didn't know anything about pricing or the instruments, hell he didn't even know that the price was way too high. I left pissed off and swore that I would never come back, I mean who hires people to sell something they know nothing about? Well anyways, I was back in the area today and drove past the store on my way to get groceries being surprised that it was actually still in business. I knew I swore not to go back but the curiosity proved to be too much and I went to go check it out anyways. I saw a dude there with a flute working on it and and he greeted me and I let him know I was just looking around. After a while I decided to ask him if he knew anything on the stagg brand as I saw one of those trumpets in the wall. I pretended like I was going to buy one and was waiting for him to tell me how amazing they were. To my surprise he gave me an honest answer saying they were just entry level instruements and gave me some solid recommendations on other instruments if I have played before. This guy knew exactly what he was saying about any instrument that I asked. The best thing though was his honesty, I could trust him because he knew what he said and he did not lie. I think the best part was that he looked genuinely happy while helping me and explaining everything that I asked. It felt like we were having a conversation instead of him forcing garbage down my throat. Point being in the end, I ended up asking about lessons and I am very excited to maybe work out some trumpet lessons here in the future. I'm glad I came back today and I am also really hoping that they hire more people like him because that's what will keep this store afloat. I've been here a handful of times for various different events. I came once on a weekend because they were holding a jam session for all of their students. It was really inspiring to see a bunch of young students all coming together to play some songs not only for fun, but to encourage one another, and to build confidence. Their teachers seem really patient and friendly. I would recommend people to come take lessons here. They had a sale recently and I was able to purchase a Whammy pedal that I've wanted for a while now and I got it at a very good price. I also participated in an open mic on a Wednesday night (they do these often) where I got to perform a song or two, and got to watch some really cool local talent. Needed to rent a trumpet for my Kid's music program at school and this place was the first on the list to provide rentals. When we arrived, they pull the trumpet case out and show us this dented scratched-to-hell trumpet that was waaay past it's prime. The valves constantly needed oiling and it was a mess. This instrument should have been retired. The contract we signed was for a 3-month rental... but 2 weeks into it we were offered a smoking deal on another used trumpet to buy so we went for it. Of course, they held me to the letter of the contract and charged me for the full 3 months... even though we only had it for 2 weeks. I guess that's how they manage to make money. For the non-school band crowd, they had a really paltry selection of guitars, basses and a single drum set. The biggest names I recognized were Peavey and G&L.. but the rest I'm assuming were cheap, Chinese knock-off's of Ibanez, Fender and Gibson guitars. I actually got a call yesterday from "Dave" asking why I only had the instrument for 2 weeks. Silly me, I thought he was going to refund my fees... but oh no... it was the same boy that was running the store that day when I was charged for all 3 months. "Oh, I remember you" lol. Yeah, I remember you too. I'm surprised this place is still in business... with things like Musician's Friend, Guitar Center and Sam Ash, I'm sure it won't be much longer. read more

So I cam in last week after going to a couple other music stores nearby just wanting to get my flute and sax looked at. To be honest when I first came in I was already ready to throw a hissy fit about how they couldn't help me with my band instruments since all I saw around me were guitars and thing of that nature. However right as a came in I was greeted really nicely by the guy working at the counter and he asked me what he could do for me today. I explained how my sax and flute weren't playing well at all (I haven't touched them in 3 years since high school) and I just wanted to get them playing again. Right then and there he took a look at them was able to fix my sax (told me it was springs or something?) and worked on the flute to get it as good as it could get. The whole time he was working on them we were talking about music and he was giving me some advice and just having a good conversation and finally he said he had fixed all he could without his tools. In the end he didn't charge me anything since it only took him a few minutes and he just made small adjustments and he let me know to come back in again in a few weeks when he has his tools. I'm super stoked since my instruments play really well for now and i'll definitely be back soon! I think the guy that helped me was Jose, but he was super knowledgeable on all the band instruments and I felt I could trust him because he liked what he was doing and knew what he was saying (unlike a lot of other places that will scam you). I'll definitely be back here though, I would recommend stopping by here first for any band things you might need and go with Jose! read more

So basically, years ago, this place was the quintessential privately owned music store-- miserable, high prices, and really bad employees. Now, the place is entirely different! The prices are competitive with Guitar Center and Sam Ash, and the employees are great! They even have open mics that have a responsive crowd. The teachers are nice.!! My children attended this center for about 8 months and I thought I had a decent relationship with the staff, but I guess I was wrong. There was an issue with us trying to stop lessons, if we can't attend lessons any more why would I keep paying for another month when my kids weren't there. But in the end it worked out. My kids really enjoyed their teachers for piano and drums and they were sad to leave. Be careful when you sign the agreement, you pay a month in advance for services not even rendered yet. And forget about makeup classes!! read more

came in this morning with my mom, because she recently purchased a guitar from a friend of hers, and her plan is to take the guitar to her church's choir so they can use it while they're on stage to perform some songs. she asked me to give it some minor maintenance, but i recommended we bring the guitar to corona music center. as soon as we came in tim was there to help us out with our needs. asked what we wanted and he gave not only good service and recommendations, he also gave a nice discount to my mom since the guitar will be used for church services. not to mention he provided us a new whammy bar for the guitar since it came without one. tim, thanks for the awesome service you have provided and answering every question we had. we will definitely continue business with tim and corona music center. also, ask about their rent to own plan, i'm thinking about going with that plan myself to get a new guitar and amp from this business. if you ever need some maintenance done on your instruments come see tim and he will treat just as good as he did for my mom and i. thanks again tim and corona music center! read more
