In the Pink is a boutique for women living with cancer. It is a welcome store, not only for the amenities it offers those fighting and surviving this disease, but also for the support it gives. I have not battled cancer, but know many who have and the dignity this little place provides makes it A+ in my book. The gift shop section is wonderful and has many a cute items that don't necessarily deal with cancer, but things that any woman would want to pamper herself with. They have fitting rooms that are secluded and private. A small, 2 seat, salon taylored to the needs of women struggling with hair loss and regrowth. They carry wigs for this as well. They also have the "Save the TaTa's" shirts and bumper stickers, which I love. But I found other T-shirts in here that are lighthearted and memorable at the same time! My 2 personal favorites were "Save 2nd Base" and "Save a life, fondle your wife"! I don't know that it can be said better than that.

But how can you be so close to the beach and not get on it. Well, when you can't walk - it's hard! My husband borrowed the hotel's wheelchair and walked me to the beach, but we came upon the American Red Cross Life Saving Corps Beach Chairs! A gentleman explained to us that they were there for people to use. So, I moved from the hotel wheelchair to their Beach-Wheel-chair and had the time of my life!!! Oh, my husband pushed me up and down the beach in & out of the water and even pushed me real slow at times so I could survey for shells... Then sometimes he would run and push me through a flock of birds! Oh the Joy we had during our stay was marvelous!! Thank you All for being there & having those chairs available!! Trust me, If you have someone with you that can't walk the beach, but would like to enjoy it, Borrow one of these Comfy Chairs! They will Love You!!!

According to the American Red Cross Jacksonville Beach is the world's safest beach. This place is deep with tradition since it started back in 1912. The corps really take keeping everyone who comes to the beach safe and out of harms way. I can even still recite the names of all the towers from north to south. That was a most in my recruit class of 77. So maybe I'll come back on opening day of the beaches where everyone can tour the building. Oh the memories this building has for me and may others.
