The picnic area is also nice. Ismts spacious and I thi k there were two pavilions. The best part are the trees. Most parks in reno dont have such luscious trees. So its nice in a hot day. The parj is well maintained, but beware of the goose droppings. Its everywhere. Its a must visit on a nice summer day or a cool fall. Winter might be fun, but I stay indoors.

The park has alot of open space for kids to run around and has a pretty nice playground. There is also a Skate Park and parking lot on the opposite side of the park. The eastern side of the path goes along a creek and there were quite a few birds, ducks and squirrels in and around the creek. I did see graffiti on one of the park signs, so that made me wonder how safe it is. In general it's a nice park, but I would have to come back during busier times such as evening or weekends to see how it is. For now though I'm only feeling 3 stars.

Though sometimes this area can be a spot where homeless people stay, they make it a point to keep it safe, especially since it's right across from a school. It's a great place for families, and we appreciate having a playground like this in the community.

There are a lot of mature trees which provide shade, however, there were a few homeless people sleeping under the trees. There are four full court basketball courts. There are tennis courts at this park. There are two covered eating areas at this park. There are several picnic tables spread throughout the park. There is a walkway which goes through the park. There are bathrooms at this park. The bathroom was clean on the inside. There is a large, grassy area to play on. The playgrounds at Dick Taylor are fantastic. The soft padding underneath the playgrounds is worn but the equipment is in good condition. There are three play structures to play on. One is for toddlers and the other two are for the bigger kids. There are swings and toddler swings at this playground. There is one swings called the Liberty Swing which looked cool. There are zip lines at this park. I have been here a couple of times with friends and have not been overly disturbed by either the freeway or the homeless. It is a nice walk up the hill from downtown and is a very convenient spot to enjoy a cup of coffee and a treat from Homage. The north edge of the park along University Terrace is much quieter. The park looks well maintained. A lovely, shady, green spot to enjoy on a warm day.

Cmon dog owners, stick with DOG PARKS, not the park closest to your trailer park.
