Went to get a gel manicure today, it was my first time going to this salon, and the ease of setting up an appointment and checking in was what drew me to it. The girl doing my nails was super sweet and made the time pleasant, however when I got home I noticed she missed a few spots on my nails. I had a mani-pedi done. Not what I expected. The pedi chairs were very uncomfortable and hard to get in to. The pedi was sub-par and took a very long time. The mani gel polish choices were very limited. I chose a light color and after it was applied the tech said she doesn't like light colors because it streaks. Why didn't she tell me before and why do they offer light colors if this is the case. It's been two weeks and my nails are rigid and the polish is peeling off. It's too bad because the salon is quite beautiful but the mani-pedi service needs to be upgraded. read more

Worst salon ever. They treat the staff horrible. The owner talks down to the employees. You pay way to much for what you get. I can go somewhere else and pay less and get better work done for what I pay there. Got my nails done there back in June and the nails turned out ok. Then when I got home the nail polish didn't even stay on, either old nail polish or crappy and cheap nail polish. Maybe the owner should look into that nail polish issue. And buy more modern nail polish. I wasn't offered anything else for my nails. This girl that did my nails didn't seem like she wanted to be there she did the quick and out the door she went. Had a terrible experience with a mani-pedi. Both women were obviously inexperienced, neither I nor the person I was with were happy with the end result. I made the mistake of asking for a French manicure, which ultimately looked like a huge mess - and the girl doing mine said it was the best one she'd ever done! What's worse, I think it was $55 for a mani-pedi, which is absurdly expensive for an Oswego salon (especially considering it was the worst one I'd ever had). I can't speak to their skills when it comes to hair, but I'd never go back to get my nails done. read more

Fantastic Experience! I am so glad I decided to choose In Vouge for my cut & color. They are wonderful. I researched Oswego salons online & found their website. It was incredibly easy to navigate & use. The had all of the services, prices, & stylist listed with descriptions. I was in a time crunch for a wedding & was thrilled to see that I could easily book a service for the next day, directly from their site. I even received a text reminder. Once I arrived for my appt. I noticed how clean & professional the salon was. I always have a hard time expressing how I want my hair, yet my stylist got it perfect. Call them at the number listed on your voucher, I refuse to honor this after several attempts of being nice and explaining to you our policy and the fine print that is clearly printed on your voucher. Since I have only two places in Oswego that I ever schedule appointments with I'd really like to know where this notoriety stems from. I feel right at home here and am always greeted warmly and the staff try very hard to keep you comfortable. I have been going to Tonia for over 10 years and moved to Saratoga Springs almost 2 years ago. You would think I would have found another hairstylist but instead I drive 3 hours (of course while getting my fix of some other Oswego favorites!) to get my hair done by Tonia. She is that GOOD! I love the salon, the way they can accommodate last minute requests and always make you feel welcome with a beverage. If you have curly or textured hair, Tonia is fantastic. She is great with color and styling. The salon has a variety of products that the staff is knowledgeable and helpful with recommending, depending on your hair type. I've been getting my hair cut at In Vogue since the fall of 2015 and I had nothing but great experiences until I went in for a color. I booked a balayage appointment with my regular stylist and showed her a few pictures of what I was looking to have my hair look like. After being foiled, washed, toned, she immediately blow dried my hair and curled it before I had the opportunity to see what my color looked like naturally. I wish she'd given me the opportunity to do so because my hair was not balayage, it was a simple foiled highlight. It was not blended well nor were my roots still their natural color as they were in the pictures Id shown her. I'm upset I paid $100 for a balayage and didn't receive a balayage. I am very disappointed since I've had great experiences in the past. I am going to see my stylist at home to have it corrected since I'm unsure if I trust other stylists at In Vogue after hearing some other similar stories from friends. read more

This was my first and last time visiting this spa. I did not have a horrible experience by any means, but I would just check out other places before I went back. I received a facial, massage, mani/pedi. I left more annoyed than relaxed because it took longer than expected and I was listening to the gossip, gripes, and inter-employee commentary. It has more of a beauty shop feel than a spa. The staff is friendly and tries to be fancy but they just can't pull it off. They were gossiping and talking about food and whatnot. It is not what you would think of when you hear "Spa" (although it is decorating nicely with nice accommodations). The woman who performed the facial did a great job. I was happy with it. She was professional and thorough, and the procedure was relaxing. The massage wasn't bad. I could see how people like the particular masseuse. He was friendly and knowledgable. They did not let me know he was a man though when I booked the appointment and normally they let you know if you are comfortable with that as a courtesy. The mani/pedi left much to be desired. The woman was friendly, but inefficient. My nails took awhile to do and didn't look that nice. Like I said, I didn't have a bad experience/nightmare situation as other people have said, but I would not personally recommend going here. If you get a Groupon/Living Social/other deal, then it may be worth it though. read more

Had a terrible experience at the salon and would not recommend them to anyone. Used their services for hair & makeup for a wedding, for myself and my two daughters. My daughters came out just fine- and the staff were very attentive to my kids. Which is why they got 1 star. My hair and makeup however was an absolute disaster! Brought in a picture of the style I wanted and the end result was nowhere close to it. As for makeup, I didn't realize there was a little bit of the jersey shore in oswego. I gave this place a year to improve and impress me, with disappointment. My hair stylist there has burnt my hair dying it, painfully burnt my scalp blow dying it, and always refused to do what I asked. She always mocked my hair, short, blond, long, calling it names and laughing about it. Very rude and entitled feeling there. She always had her own opinion and made me take the color and hair cut she wanted instead of my choice. For my wedding makeup, she botched my face, and I had to go home and wash it off to redo it myself. I will never go there again as I have ventured to other salons. We laughed and had such a great time with all of the staff members, and now we feel so relaxed and rejuvenated - WE'RE HOOKED! I was in town for a conference, so I thought I'd treat myself to a mani and pedi. I booked an appointment online with Kathaleen. She was the first person to pop up, so I thought why not?? When I arrived, the salon looked nice and clean. I was greeted and led in the back for my pedicure. The woman offered me a drink and told me to wait a few minutes for my pedicure. I was happy to wait and relax. The actual place looks nice. I wish I could give them a good review. When Kathaleen approached me, she did not say one word. Throughout the entire pedicure, she was silent. When I said thank you, she only made a "um" sound which I suppose was to acknowledge my gratitude. She used a nice mango scrub on my feet, but I wish she would have asked if I had any problems with scents as this was very strongly scented. When she was done, she told me to wait a few minutes. It was the first thing she said to me. She then told me to sit at the far end for my manicure; she didn't even point out the polishes. I saw her watch and sanitize the pedicure tub which was nice. Finally, she did the manicure only uttering the slightest directions when absolutely necessary. I wasn't expecting a full on conversation, but a greeting or small talk would have been polite. She did an okay job, nothing spectacular. In fact my gel polish was very different from what the bottle showed which I hope she would have pointed out. I probably would have selected a different color had she said something. When she was finished, she led me out, I paid and left a mediocre tip since I'm going to assume she was having a bad day. I know she doesn't know me. I'm not a regular, but I would have preferred to feel welcomed. I actually never felt so unwelcome at a salon. Had she been more welcoming, I would have left a very large tip and a wonderful review. I will be in the area again, but sadly, I will not be visiting this salon. read more

Like many of the other reviews, I used a groupon for a mani/pedi. Initially it was very hard to even book an appointment, and after I volunteered I had a groupon, I was pushed even farther back. Eventually I did go to the salon. The pedicure was fine, but I have to say it was one of the most uncomfortable pedicure chairs I have ever sat in. I don't mind it didn't have the weird massage feature of so many chairs, but the back of the seat is so straight and with no arms to lean against, you sort of brace yourself and try not to slide down. Also, let me recommend those leg rest things that many spa/salons now use. Since you have nothing to hold onto, ( I clutched one of the little pillows), holding your leg up for a good foot scrub becomes exercise, not relaxation! The pedicure itself was kind of average,( I've had many that were much better), but I will say the women technician was charming and friendly. I have to agree with many of the other reviews. The services are overpriced for Oswego, considering the atmosphere really isn't "spa like." And I too listened to conversations I would rather not hear. The owner was complaining to the staff about a marketing person, or many company, that wasn't up to her liking. "Why do I have to do this? Blah, blah, blah. This isn't my job!" Definitely a conversation that should have happened elsewhere. I understand the groupon dilemma. Salons offer them, and take a beating financially, to lure in new customers. When that doesn't always work I'm sure there is some resentment towards the groupon user. But for those of us who use groupons, it's a good way for us to try a new place and services. I have become a return customer to several businesses because of their groupon. But today when I booked a pedicure in Oswego, it sure wasn't at in Vogue. I guess my advice would be if you are going to charge high class spa prices, you should be a high class spa. Sadly, In Vogue really didn't measure up. read more

Unhappy with my hair and looking for a new stylist, I searched Google for some local salons and decided to call In Vogue for a consultation. I spoke with Ashlee (at least 10 minutes) and ultimately scheduled an appt. with her. When I arrived, I was immediately greeted and waited just a few minutes for Ashlee, who took the time to talk about what I wanted. When I left the salon, the color, trim and style were exactly what I had asked for! I was also impressed with the cleanliness, the atmosphere and friendliness of staff. I made my appt online with Ashley for saturday at 12:30. When i I have the store was all decorated and festive decorations and Ashley was waiting for me. When I sat down she asked me what I would like to do with my hair? I replied to her I need all the dead ends cut I need a trim and ask her maybe if we could switch my bangs to the other side. Ashley was amazing she talked with me before even cutting any of my hair and talked me through what she was going to do. Ashley walked me over to the sink area and not only washed but massage my head as well best hair wash ever. Bow i booked my appt for a hair cut and eyebrows to be waxing. The whole time Ashley asked if i was doing good and if i need anything. After my eyebrows were done we went over to her chair and she began to cut my hair. The whole time we talked and she really listened to what i asked her to do for my hair. At the end of my appt she styled and made my hair look amd feel amazing. I would recommend Ashley and In Vogue to anyone. I will never go to anyone else to do my hair but In Vogue. Not only did i walk out with a beautiful hair cut and eyebrows but i was so thankful to have a hair dresser take her time and really give me what i asked for. I have gone to other hair places like Super Cuts and my hair was butchered and i was the one asking the lady questions. When i left super cuts i looked like a puddle with a bad hair cut... This is why i started going to In Vogue and always ask for Ashley bc she cares about her clients and wants they to be happy with the finished product...... IN VOGUE..... From out of town, went here to get hair done for a formal event and a manicure. My hair stylist was wonderful, she was very talented, and my hair has never looked so good. She crafted me an updo that was better that what I described and communicated well with me while she was working as to what I wanted and took my suggestions when I offered them. However, my manicure was a different story. Manicurist was inexperienced, had to wipe off the paint twice because it was too lumpy. Hours after the manicure it had already started flaking off. Got a french manicure and the lines were sloppy and it didn't look clean or professional. In conclusion, go to get your hair done, not to get your nails done. read more

Went in to have a nice relaxing spa day .. gift certificate was giving to me for my birthday.. got amassage (amazing!!) Got ahair cut (just average) but then it came time for my spa Mani and spa pedi! In the description for the package I was suppost to receive a paraffin wax dip for both services (neither were done) I did mention something to the girl when I was there but she said I was just suppost to Receive a different foot and hand scrub then the regular Mani and pedis. So I didn't think anything of it until.I went home and reread the package flyer. So I decided to call and inquire about the services and why they were not done. The phone was quickly given to the store owner who instantly got offensive and rude.. she did offer to mail me back a partial refund.. this was over two months ago and Istill haven't received anything!
