This was just a crappy experience. The salon is dingy, they have dirty towels where you put your hands and cover them with paper towels. They don't give you a manicure, they just paint your nails. No pride in their work, I'm sure they are skilled enough they just don't care. The staff is not personable. The atmosphere is terrible, TV's blaring the news, but it wasn't your typical news station, it was about siblings murdering each other and other distasteful garbage. Just bizarre, not what I want to listen to while at a salon. They used an acrylic nail file on my natural fingernails and it just shredded them, I was dying inside. Generally just a rough and uncomfortable experience. My gel manicure is just not good, I could have done a better job myself. I wont be going back. read more

This was an awful experience! The guy was rude, he did a bad job and he was as rushing- I was done in 12 minutes!! That's not a manicure! He didnt give me a chance to look at my nails before making me get up and immediately sitting someone else. When I came into the salon, I was surprised with how nice the establishment was. There were many customers, so clearly this place was better than the reviews I've read on Google and Yelp. Sounds like a good review, huh? This was all until I ended up with the young guy who I've read not so great things in reviews. When I was placed at the pedicure station, he legit stood in front of me for at least 10 minutes, blatantly on his phone, clearly not caring about his customer. Then the massage that accompanied the pedicure was painful as hell, and he didn't look like he cared. I felt bad about him grabbing my toe nail polish for me because I didn't know if I was allowed to grab the colors by myself (since they were all directly behind the nail beauticians). He ended up giving me the wrong color, both toe nails and gel nails! I should've double-checked the colors once he started putting it on, but with lighting, it somewhat looked like the color I wanted - and at this point I wanted to leave, so I didn't want to bother him starting new. Very pretty interior decorations. I went here about 4 months ago for a full set. The lady was extremely rude and repeatedly telling me my nails were small to put on acrylic the Way I wanted them done. She had cut me a couple times but that's completely normal no matter where you go. My nails came out a little crooked and the lady insisted it was my finger. I made an appointment yesterday at 10:30am and was there at 10:29am left at 11:47am without my Nails or eyebrows done. I sat there for over an hour as they took all the walk ins that came after me. I got told I was going to be right next and they put someone else. Bad place to get your nails done! Don't recommend. read more

This was the worst nail salon experience I've ever had. The first time I went there the lady wasn't even looking at my nails while she was doing them. She was online shopping on her cell phone the whole time. They came out terrible looking and I did not want to go back there ever again. A few months later I went back there to get my acrylic nails off and that was an even worse experience. The lady cut the first nail off so aggressively and without asking if I wanted to keep the length of my real nail underneath. It was painful because she pulled it off so hard instead of letting them soak like a normal place would. She cut all my nails so short they are now the same length as my skin. This place is terrible. I'm in town visiting family and this is the only place that has anc. after less than a week my nails turned brown and the worker sat there on facetime with his wife. Today I went back to make them fix my nails and the worker sat there watching videos on his phone while my nails were drying. I do not recommend this place!! I try really hard to support local businesses, therefore i am trying to keep my nail salon business here in Oswego. I have tried going to Pretty Nails a few times. The employees have been less than friendly. I have sat there with very little communication.. Today I went there to give it another shot. This will definitely be my last time. I am very disappointed with the outcome of my nails. I originally wanted a design done on my thumbs which I was told they couldn't do. i was a simple design. Horrendous customer service, ice cold fan (yes one fan) to dry your nails. Color selection is ridiculously unorganized and nail polishes look filthy. $15 for a manicure are you joking? It's cheaper in New York City. Asked the woman painting my nails if I could wash my hands before she put on the polish and she told me no. She literally told me she didn't have a sink. So I turned to my left, saw a sink with soap by the pedicure chairs and I said there's a sink right there and she rolled her eyes. I thought she was joking. She wasn't. I read the reviews here before I went and actually did not go to this salon for a long time because of reviews I saw on here. Today I was desperate and in a hurry to get my nails done so I decided to take the gamble. I am so glad that I did. I walked in and was greeted immediantly. Within 2 minutes I was seated and asked for a full set of nails. I use to get my nails done regularly and am quite picky. The job that they did was impeccable! Very clean and precise. I usually only use yelp to read reviews but I needed to comment here. $35 and 3 hours post mani/pedi and my nails look horrible. There r visable little bubbles on my nails. The top coat was so thick my nails took forever to dry and left thin little trails when the brush was pulled away from each nail. The girl did a horrible job and I have top coat on my fingers and toes. She seemed rushed. Asked after 5 min of drying If I was ready to pay. I declined and she appeared upset. The water was cold and when I asked for it to be warmer the girl said "are you serious?" Like "yes, I'm friggin serious". They need to crack a window or something, the fumes are so dang strong. I hate this place!! Of course, I got the young guy that isn't good at his job! I asked him to paint my nails black, and he did them...RED!Like he acts like he wasn't even listening to me! Went to Pretty Nails two days ago. The person who did my nails nicked my toes a couple of times. Today I have two toes that I am feeling pain in. My daughter had her nails done at the same time. One of her toes is infected. She also got gel on her nails and today they are peeling off- just 2 days later. They never had her put her nails under the warmer. She asked not to have gel, but gel she got with the higher price. We will never go there again. read more

My family owns a salon so I know a thing or two about sanitation, and this salon is disgusting. I had a little bit of acrylic on my nails and the "nail tech" at this salon drilled it off so rough she put a hole in my natural nail which caused me to bleed. She did not sanitize the drill bit in barbicide and simply put it back. She made 2 of my fingers bleed from filing too rough and put he file back in the container with all her other files. She also used the same brush for the liquid bandage on me each time, so I have to wonder how many other clients she's used that brush on too. On top of all these issues, she was rude and my nails were ugly and misshapen. So to the nail tech that acted like I was just another clueless client, put your supplies in barbicide before the health department gets there. read more

I've been going to pretty nail for about 5 years now every 2 weeks for my acrylic fill and I don't have a bad word to say about them! They get me in and out and remember what colors I like, length, all that good stuff. If I could give a 0 I would as this was my worst experience ever at any salon in my life. To start I showed the older man that I would like a blue ombré with a photo of exactly what I wanted. As he was putting the white on my nails I asked him several times if he was going to do the blue and he ignored me. Then after he starts putting blue on the tips and I immediately caught what he was doing wrong and asked him nicely to fix it to what I wanted. He told me he couldn't because they would have had to put blue on first. He was extremely rude and then openly was complaining about me and rolling his eyes as if I was a huge hastle to him. So then on to the pedicure I had a younger man that I warned I was ticklish and asked to please be cautious of it. So he starts tickling my feet and thinking he was hilarious. Meanwhile I was extremely uncomfortable and asked him to please stop and he kept doing it. Then the entire staff was mocking and laughing at me. I felt so uncomfortable and my nails look horrible and are bleeding. I have engagement photos this weekend. Oh and not to mention I still paid full price for everything. Gel nails should be removed with cotton balls soaked in remover- Tin foil wrapped around it and eventually gently scraped off. You should not be yanking the polish off with a manicure tool! Nails completely wrecked when you do that. I will not return again. I have given them a few chances. I have been goin here every two weeks to get my nails done since August of last year. I went to get my nails done Saturday may 30th of this year and they charged me 45 dollars instead of 35 then when I called said it was because I got a Design. I was not told at the time of service that it was going to go up. I refuse to go to someone that can not even tell me it will go up for a design. This place sucks. I came in with a hang nail and the woman threw a pair of nail clippers at me. She rushed doing her job obviously. Don't remember her name, she had lightish brown long hair. She rushed my friends and my nails and they looked awful after. There was so much white stuff (dry dead skin from filing) on the sides of my nails awful. They were so ugly. Just awful. No soaking. No lotion. Not one drop. If I did not hold my hands in the position the technition wanted, I was scolded in Korean and slapped on my hands with her two fingers. Bizarre. My acrylics were yanked off with cuticle cutters. I was told normal soaking takes too long. It was torture. My nails burned for three days. However, despite cuticle cutters being used, my cuticles were never groomed. And she did not even cut or groom my natural, sore ragged nails that she created. You can't walk out at that point. You need nails. I am tramatized by this experience. Also, the acrylics were way too thick and ugly. And started peeling back after a week. Horrific. read more

This place is highly unprofessional, my mom and I both went in for pedicures and were rushed picking our colors, then the guy who was doing my pedicure says 'come on' at the beginning of the pedicure and yanked my foot out of the cold water that my feet were sitting in. After about ten minutes of waiting, a woman finally came over to start my moms pedicure and literally made the most disgusted face and rolled her eyes when my mom showed her what color she wanted and then she walked away, came back and said that colors clear so then when my mom started pointing out other colors she liked the woman got an attitude and just grabbed one of the colors my mom mentioned and said is this what you want? When the guy was 'massaging' my leg it was extremely painful, this experience was the furthest from relaxing. Then when he asked me if I liked my color, the woman doing my moms nails said 'nooo' like a child. They didn't even clean under either of our nails. Then both 'technicians' walked away, the guy left me with one small little fan sitting in the general direction of my feet, doing next to nothing to dry my nails and the woman left my mom with one coat of polish. Finally another technician walked over to my mom and saw that her nails were smudged and then my mom also pointed out that one of her nails wasn't even straight, assuming they would use the nail clippers to even them out. Of course not, she just carelessly put another coat on and walked away again. Finally she came back and put on a clear coat and then finally brought over the light for gel polish (they didn't have anything to dry regular polish other than those crappy little fans) and then a minute or two later the woman that started her nails came by and unplugged the light and shooed my mom out of the salon. We didn't get a bottom coat of clear gel, we got two coats of color and one top coat. They didn't even file our nails. This place doesn't even deserve one star. We will never return. read more

I went to pretty nails because they had the shortest wait time. I have been before and had no issues. This time, i was completely disappointed. My appointment was at 2:15 and i didn't get helped until 2:50. The young guy that serviced me was VERY rude. At one point, he even sat back and played on his phone while i starred at him in disbelief. Never spoke to me once the entire time, and when he did it was "give me your hand" or "pay now". Numerous times he tugged at my fingers or swatted my other fingers away if they were in his way, which is understandable but he did not even have the courtesy to ask me to come closer or adjust my hand the way he wanted them. At one point he stopped working on my nails and got up and went and painted someone else's toes in the middle of my session. Needless to say, i will not be going back to Pretty Nails again and by the looks of the reviews, i am not the only one. read more
