I loveeeeee a hidden neighborhood gem and Elmwood Park has Inari sushi! I hadn't been in awhile but I took my 7 year old one afternoon, who is the biggest sushi fan ever and he loved it! We did the lunch special where we picked 3 maki for$18 and it was well worth it. He also ate TWO BOWLS of miso soup -at this point, he needs a job! lol The service was great - our waitress was super sweet and attentive and even gave my son one of the chop sticks trainers to help him eat his sushi the authentic way; he was ECSTATIC! I love how in the summer you have the option to sit outside and people watch, but the inside is very nice and cozy as well, with you being able to see your sushi being prepared. Was super excited to try here after reviews and the menu. Walked in and there was no one there. We were seated and shown menus and given waters. No one ever came back to take an order for drinks or anything. A table came quite a few minutes after wards and were immediately asked for their orders and served drinks before we were even approached. I decided of the services that poor it was time to leave. This is a very strong restaurant operation, with attentive waitstaff, fast service, and -tho we came on a wednesday- strong monday and tuesday drink specials. I'd come back for the 1/2 price wine bottles on mondays if i were w drinkers. But i came w sushi snobs so we ordered the large sashimi platter, the yellowtail carpaccio, a few premium rolls, and edamame and udon with tempura for the kiddo. Since those items came out first i will say they were expertly prepared and breaded, the udon soup was steamy and solid, and kiddo loved the udon, tho i like my udon maximalist and huge which these were not. The yellowtail was a bit saucy but really fun as a shared appetizer, and not spicy if that is a concern vis the jalapeños. The sashimi was pretty generous in portions and displayed with elegance, very instagrammable. More importantly, prepared well even if not buttery. There was a whiff of fishiness to the nose so i'd describe the sashimi as an 8/10 on freshness, very good and would order again. The rolls min in black, spicy tuna, and butterfly- were all impressively plated. The men in black i found to be excellent and unique, covered in black roe. I didnt try the other two but the spicy tuna was well received. We would definitely return and i would say its one of the better sashimi offerings and interesting menu in the western burbs. read more

I've recently been coming to inari for their lunch specials which are delicious and a good value for the amount of food that you get. The menu offers bento box, 2 or 3 maki specials that come with miso soup. We are always very full after eating here. The service is outstanding and the interior is nicely presented. read more

ALERT. ALERT. Way over priced. They have increased most menu items by two dollars and with tax, it's more like three dollars. The Rock Shrimp went up two dollar and now is 14 dollars for an appetizer. This appetizer does not even include rice. The Ramen also is now 14 dollars, 15.78 with tax. Paying close to 16 dollars for soup?! Where in the world am I? This sucked. The hard boiled eggs were over done and the pork was super fatty. The other items in the soup were yucky. There weren't enough noodles either. If I am paying close to 16 dollars for soup- I expected more. Very sad to see how the prices have gone up. This is Elmwood park not downtown Chicago. Really had high hopes for this place Went on a beautiful day & walked inside & the funk of old grease smacks me. So I sat outside & ordered the tempura lunch bento box & paid a $2 up charge for tuna. Not impressed at all by the food . My tempura was fried in old cooking oil & had a funky smell. The salad dressing even taste fishy. The sushi was no better than a grocery store. I went to an early Saturday dinner at Inari Sushi with my love along with two of our peeps after a productive day of estate sale shopping across Chicagoland (I bought a belt!). Inari is located in Elmwood Park on a stretch of North Avenue that features numerous eateries, with more to come. There is a free parking lot just east of the restaurant shared by some of these restaurants. Since we came in for an early dinner, we had the restaurant practically to ourselves. The seating area is comfortable, and now that the weather is finally improving there are a few tables for outdoor dining. Our server was very polite and thorough if barely audible. Anything we ordered came out with minimal wait, and our water glasses were always topped off without fail. As the non sushi eater of our group, I ordered a bowl of ramen that starred a generous amount of tender pork belly along with an egg. Everyone else thoroughly enjoyed their orders of sushi along with a big bowl of calamari. Popular selections at our table were the Super Duper Maki roll, Asparagus Maki, Philly Maki, and California Maki roll. The beverage list includes Japanese beers, a key lime martini that one of us enjoyed, and also sake flights. We paid and we were about to leave, already inside the car, when this lady who was serving us came to knock at our window car, saying that we forgot our change, (we paid with card and left 10% tip in cash for her). We told her that that money was for her, and then she immediately threw the money right at my face saying "You need it more than I do". This place is YUM! I have been checking out restaurants in the area of my new job trying to see whats good and cost efficient and Inari is definitely up there on the list now. I got their lunch special with 3 maki rolls. It comes with very yummy miso soup. Had the mini godzilla roll, Philly and Unagi rolls. Philly was by far my favorite. So good! I went on a date with a server here before covid...just found she was married haha. Always delicious! I come here with a friend whenever we're able to. Came here for a Saturday afternoon lunch date. My friend recommended this restaurant as she had been there before. We sat inside as it was chilly still outside, but they do have outside seating. The food was good. We ordered several of the rolls and they were all tasty and fresh. Some of the rolls have fun names like Man in Black, Diablo and Latin Bliss. We also had a couple of cocktails, which were good. Service was great. We were seated immediately and the waitress was very friendly. Me and my sister in law was heading to a nearby restaurant nearby this sushi restaurant. My sister in law had her pet pup with her and we thought we would be able to sit at this other place; they did not allow dogs for the outdoor patio so we saw this sushi restaurant and this place did allow pets to sit outdoors. We ordered sushi and noodles, martini drinks, and doughnut desserts. It was all so delicious. The lady serving us even brought out a cup of water on a styrofoam cup for my sister's pup; such great service! The vegetarian and salmon sushi was on the top delicious! Chicagoland's winters can be brutal even for lifelong residents. It's dreary, cold and the sidewalks are covered with dingy looking snow by February. And then there's summer. Chicago's summer albeit shorter this year than one would have hoped, has been delightful. I have joyfully taken advantage of patio seating when available because I want to soak it up while I can. Inari's first gold star is for having a patio with a covering for the delicate flower in me. I get fresh air and shade at the same da_n time. Cheers to that! I wish I could tell you that I checked this place out on my own after having seen its patio. But I didn't. I actually would not have expected to find great sushi in the burbs on North Ave but I did thanks to my gal pal who has been a long time patron. My friend has raved about this place for a while. Each time, she would mention it, I would say I would give it a try and then I never do. I believed it to be good but also believe that often times locals often love the neighborhood place for reasons other than the food. She grew up close by so I did not put my stock into it and figured I would get to it eventually. So as fate would have it, she and I met a few weeks back for a bite and she chose her go to place since I never tried it. I enjoyed everything we ordered but the seared tuna, beef wrapped asparagus and garlic edamame were extremely memorable. I liked it so much that I made a second run with the honey later that week. Nice little sushi spot in Elmwood Park with also an outside patio when the weather permits. Not a huge place so if you're going with a group or party it may not work. We were greeted right away and our waitress was very friendly and told us martinis were half off today!(Tuesday) So we started with ordering some drinks, the key lime martini was absolutely delicious and I will mostly definitely be back on Tuesday for those!! And they sneak up on you so go easy lol. For appetizers we had the spicy tuna ravioli with ponzu sauce, tempura crunch, spicy crab meat wrapped in thinly sliced avocado and it was very good. Had two sushi rolls the Godzilla maki and the flaming dragon. The flaming dragon was much better and it is brought out to you on fire! Pretty cool. Didn't get a chance to try any desserts because we were having to many martinis lol. Parking is available in the back if you can't find a spot in front. I went to Inari Sushi in Elmwood Park and immediately fell in love with the Flaming Dragon roll. It was the perfect mixture of shrimp tempura, salmon, and tuna with sweet spicy mayo, black tobiko, and unagi sauce. And it came set on fire!! It was savory and had a really nice crunch to it that eating it alone made me give Inari 4 stars. I also had a spicy shrimp roll that was pretty standard but still good, some delicious fried calamari, and PERFECTLY seasoned roasted garlic edamame. Here's the downside to this post: when I plan on eating a big meal, I don't like to eat beforehand (so I can have more room) which makes me almost ravished by the time the food comes. When this happens I forgot to be a foodie and take proper pictures of the food Of course I was so excited for the Flaming Dragon roll that I just dug right in before taking a pic. read more
