Mike and I started going to ICA puppy socials on July 11. Fig had the BEST time!! She and Benji were the first to arrive, they were running around, then came Cooper, he seemed very scared from the start and did not want to engage with other pups. We loved that trainers were there to help monitor behavior if necessary. If two pups were playing too aggressively,or if I pup was afraid they had a stick they used to get the pups to disengage and redirect. Fig has attended 3 socials and each experience has been positive where we learned something. One time another pit puppy was playing a lot with Fig, she was racing in circles, tumbling, fully engaged, then went to rest in the shade. She seemed done after 20 minutes, rather than keep her in the social to get my full 30 minutes we thought it best to leave on a good note. The last 2 weeks, August 15, 22 we brought our 2nd new puppy, Sage. At first she was shy (and this was her 2nd day with us), trying to figure out this area full of puppies, she quickly found that same pit puppy that Fig played with the week before. The recommendations from trainers to humans is to walk and socialize with other owners and not engage with our pups. We can check in with our pups as needed, but the goal of asocial is for puppy engagement. Our 4 year old Jelly, lost her big sister, Journey (75 pound lab/pit mix) on May 9 due to an unauthorized person, living with a small boarder, letting our dogs out of their kennel. Journey did not know this person and would not go back into the kennel, the woman went into the house and Journey was never seen again alive. She was killed by a hit and run off San Martin Ave near Center. To help Jelly gain some independenceand confidence we enrolled her in the 4 week training program. Rachel was her main trainer and we saw such growth in her over the month. We take Jelly on Saturday morning pack walks and small dog socials when possible. Our goal in training was to get a handle on Jelly's non stop barking when we talk to people on our walks, we didn't want her to get the small dog label of a yapper. She will go on her platform bed when we say 'place', she will sit/stay when we ask, we are able to go to a restaurant with her and Fig with no barking. ICA gave us great tools to help our dogs have a rich social life, now if it's up to us to continue the training. read more

I took my puppy to a puppy social and was very disappointed. What I was promised over the phone vs what happened in person did not match. My puppy was put into the small dog pen where he was immediately broad sided by another dog. He screamed and hid in the corner the remainder of the time. The trainers would not let me console him nor try to coax him out to play. They instead tried to poke at him with long sticks to get him out of the corner. (He now has a fear of brooms, mops, or any other long pole that resembles what they used.) I was also told I would be able to talk to trainers about the programs, our needs, and perhaps some advice on dealing with a teething puppy. All the trainers, including the owner, acted extremely put out that they had to talk to me. I will not be taking my dog back. read more

Hello big and small dog mamas and papas!!! We are on our 3rd week of training and finished our first pack meet up at Inclined. I cant rave enough about this place and their program! We have done training before with other known companies, which has given my big boy a great foundation (as well as myself, because lets be honest us humans are really the ones that need the training). But Inclined is a whole different level! The trainers invest and want to make your fur baby succeed on all levels. So your dog isn't social, they will make space for that, your dog isn't friendly, they will make space for that, your dog doesn't listen, they will make space for that... the space is done in baby steps, which allows your fur baby to succeed. They are also solid in the communication area. Which is huge to me. All I can say is do your part and invest in your animals, its your responsibility as a pet parent. Why not get connected with a program that will train your animal as well as you the pet parent. I cannot emphasize enough how amazing ICA was/is for my pup. We came to ICA when our Corso, Bagheera was about 6 months old and I was able to train him a little. My initial goal was to just have ICA fine tune his basic obedience but Bagheera came out of their day train program so much better than I could have ever imagined. I can't express enough how incredibly transformative the 6-week board and train program has been for both my dog, Mylo, and me. From the moment I dropped him off, I knew he was in great hands, but I was still blown away by the experience. Adrianah, Mylo's trainer, is absolutely amazing. She genuinely cares for Mylo, and it's clear that their bond grew so strong throughout this journey. About Mylo, he wasn't very socialized, he was scared and always in on alert non stop bark and lunge mode--especially new people and coming across anyone especially dogs on walks. But Adrianah's patience, skill, and dedication completely turned that around. Mylo now adores her, and it's such a joy to see how excited he gets when he's around her. The structure of the program was perfect for us. Mylo stayed overnight with Adrianah for a full week of intensive, back-to-back training. Then, I would pick him up on weekends, where she would go over all the progress they made and explain what I needed to practice with him during that weekend then I'd take him back for another full week. The consistency was key! after the two weeks were up every Tuesday, I would drop him off for full-day training(I'd tell you more about what specifics they did but that can be a surprise for whomever joins next), which they can accommodate to your schedule. I did the drop off at 9am and I went back to get him at 6pm then I stayed with Adrianah and Mylo until 7pm to learn all the techniques and commands they worked on. By the end of the program, Mylo had not only learned how to be a more disciplined dog, but he and I also developed a stronger bond. The owners of the academy are so kind and accommodating, and all of the staff made me feel like part of a big, welcoming family. It was comforting to know Mylo would be loved and cared for by such a supportive team. Every trainer and employee is so friendly and approachable, and they all share a genuine love for dogs, which really helped put my mind at ease. Adrianah's training methods are exceptional. She is absolutely incredible. She is so hardworking, funny and just an absolute pleasure to be around. Mylo's transformation is truly remarkable. His behavior has completely improved, and his obedience and discipline are on another level. I've been hesitant to post this, as the other negative review on here was concerning to read and I never post reviews!! However, I feel it necessary so more people don't have the same experience. I won't be saying my name or my baby's name for anonymity and safety, but the program felt incredibly rushed. They move you through quickly, collect the enormous amount of money they charge, show you their "wonder leash" and how to use it once, and seem very focused on just getting the dog through the program without focusing on their actual issues. Their "head trainer" used the Ecolor on my dog at high levels and didn't stop when my poor baby screamed and was confused. My little man had a lot of difficulty afterwards and I felt pressured to do the "video testimonial". Heads up - you will be asked to do a video where you have to sing the praises of this company and if you'd prefer not to be on camera, harassed into doing it. There was also chicken poop everywhere, and a huge pack of dogs next door that were barking continuously and running around fighting. In short, I paid an outrageous sum of money for subpar training and felt that they were mostly focused on getting a "good review" from me to boost their company. During my in personal evaluation with keith, he repeated over and over how it isn't about the money and it's about your dog and ensuring that they aren't "embarrassing". Keith, Interesting: I read the review posted on Dec 20, 2024 where the reviewer claimed he received hate mail + death threats from your company for posting a negative review. Guess I will take my chances: More of my concerns with yesterday's (2/7/26) puppy socialization class. Whether you really listen and understand our concerns or brush this off, I feel compelled to write in hopes no puppy gets hurt next time. Also, your trainer in this class needs additional training or she needs to find a different job. As I said to you during our phone call after the class, your trainer exhibits a superior attitude that needs adjusting before there is a disaster. She, and perhaps all your trainers are taught that the owners are the problem. Owners know their dogs and are committed to them. You need to listen to the owners. Yesterday, we arrived for the puppy social class, and we were told to remove her leash and just let her run. We were concerned from the start, but all the puppies were her size and when we went in she was doing well. Shortly thereafter, your trainer comes in with a larger dog who was pulling on the leash, constantly barking and acting very aggressively. Your trainer was walking up to the other pups with this aggressive dog who was lunging at the cowering pups. The trainer did not think that was an issue and kept saying to the other owners (who's puppies were cowering behind them) "That's OK, that's OK". That was a huge mistake on her part. When my husband said 'It wasn't OK and we asked her to remove the aggressive dog' your trainer told us to leave. That told me everything. A competent, ethical trainer would have: Immediately prioritize puppy welfare and remove the aggressive dog. She did not read the class and you told us this dog has been in many classes for socializing. Ridiculous - maybe the dog shouldn't come back? She was obviously using the puppies in the class to try and socialize the aggressive dog at the expense of the puppies and the people that paid the $20 - not very fair, was it? Kicking us out of the class for advocating for our puppy is a massive red flag About our puppy's reaction Our dog: chose escape, not aggression when she brought the dog in. Our puppy ran to the corner and tried to climb the fence. She ran to the other side and tried to climb out. She was TERRIFIED! Had she escaped the pen that would have been on YOU, and she would have been gone. I finally cornered her - and all the time, the trainer never removed the aggressive dog and the dog kept barking and lunging. Your trainer never offered to help us get our poor pup and never apologized. Our puppy sought safety from us and she trusted us enough to protest. We didn't fail her - you and your trainer did. We protected her. Our puppy learned something important yesterday: we have her back. We have owned several dogs through the years ... mostly pit bulls (7) that were abandoned and abused. We have also re-trained horses that were abused ... it's all much the same. We turned them around using kindness, consistency and protection. We know what is involved. With our puppy we were hoping to add a reputable trainer/facility for specific training. We won't be back because of this experience and because of our discussion with you yesterday after the class. You exhibited superiority behavior just like the trainer in the class. There are many other trainers and training facilities we can choose from for ongoing support. read more

Inclined Canine Academy is an amazing training facility that has not only trained my reactive pup to remain calm in public settings with other dogs and people, but has also helped me better understand my dog's triggers and learn how to redirect that focus in a more positive and constructive way. Muffin was a shy, timid and reactive dog when it came to strangers and other dogs we would pass by on our walks. I had rescued her from a shelter and they suspected she came from an abusive past and so I wanted to make sure that the trainers that would work with Muffin would be patient and kind with her. Thankfully the team from Inclined Canine Academy delivered just that and more! Their patience and expertise has allowed Muffin to come out of her shell and become the most amazing and confident dog I have ever seen her become. Not only does she not bark or lunge towards other dogs or people but she is also able to walk on leash without pulling, as well as being obedient off leash. I did the 6 week day training program, it was very convenient being able to drop Muffin off at the ranch before work, and to have the one on one training with the trainers afterwards during pick up has been very helpful in making sure I understood how to continue the training at home properly. I actually enjoyed the homework they assigned me to work on with Muffin, it felt like it allowed me to deepen our bond and she seemed to enjoy the mental exercise too. The difference has been night and day and now I have no hesitation or fear when I bring her out to public settings. Inclined Canine Academy was an amazing opportunity to get our anxious pup (not so pup at 4 years old) some relief and comfortability outside the house. Although she loved meeting other dogs, the art of doing nothing, always had to be moving, and not being confident in herself made it difficult to go on walks, eat at restaurants, travel, etc. ICA was able to understand our pain points, which were a little more specific, and guide us through their training process and tools right away. Between the informative consultation call to meeting Keith we were sold right away. Once signed up, information was given to us on what to expect week over week and also the full understanding that we, as the owners, are here to play a part in the training process as well. We appreciated the time that they took with us after every training day to walk us through what our dog learned and why they did what they did, then allowed us to practice and ask questions. Although you get sent home with homework, it's worth staying on top of the training so your dog can learn through consistency, which ICA takes a lot of pride in. WARNING: If you enjoy having a completely misbehaved spazz of a dog that you can't take anywhere and nobody will pet-sit for you, then keep on looking at other trainers. Only come to Incline Canine Academy if you want a well behaved dog that you can take anywhere and everywhere. I have a 1.5 year old German shepherd that we picked up a year ago from the shelter. She is a super sweet pup towards people but she was very leash reactive towards other dogs. After putting her through ICA, I had incredible results. I now can take her everywhere I go and she's so well behaved that people just assume that she's a service dog. If I'm at a store, I'll have her do a down stay while it takes me 15 minutes to compare light bulbs at Home Depot. She'll sit patiently under the table at the restaurant or coffee shop. She'll go to her place and stay there on command EVERY time I tell her to, even if there's a guest in the house with a dog. I can walk past another dog on a walk and she will not even budge at the other furry friend whether she's on or off leash. When she's off leash and I call her, she comes to a screeching halt and comes straight to my hip every time. Her success after ICA's training is almost like uncle Ben's rice because it's "perfect every time." I had incredible results and I give all that credit to Keith and his fantastic trainer staff. I have already referred him to 4 other family friends. One of which has also gone through the program and had only similar results. Keith will use several gentle training tools, and he will educate you in how to use them too. At first I was against the ideas of the e-collar but Keith debunked all of the common misconceptions of the training tool and showed me how valuable the tool is and opened my mind to it. By the third visit to Keith's training ranch, my pup was so excited to go that she would stand in my back seat and wag her tail and yelp in happiness as soon as I would get off the main roads. This was by far one of the best investments I ever made towards my pup and I would highly advise you do the same. Give them a shout if you're ready to have a well behaved dog. I can't recommended Inclined Canine enough! My dog, Tate, struggled with over excitement on walks especially when seeing other dogs. The very best training program, do not hesitate! High level experience and well organized team. It's like having a new dog! We got a puppy a little less than a year ago, the 9th puppy we've raised but his behaviors were intractable and harder to manage than any prior pup. ICA turned it all around from day 1! Step 1 was learning how to teach Morse to calm himself and step 2 was the "place" command. The most important thing is we now have the knowledge and tools to effectively manage Morse. Everywhere we go people ask how we trained him so well! Others have dinged ICA for their use of e-collars but that's really a misunderstanding! If you've ever used a TENS device for muscle pain you know how these work and at the level needed to tap my dog on his shoulder I can't even feel the collar on myself. I have to triple the setting to even begin to feel it! I hit my back with a TENS device at MUCH higher settings than the collar. And when it comes to having a faithful and trustworthy "come" response allowing your dog the joy of leash-free play, nothing beats the e-collar! Their day train program is excellent and we saw incredible results. Our dog went from an anxious dog that barked and lost her mind when ever she saw another dog, was terrible at going for walks, would not come when called, to a confident, calm dog that walks right by our side, can be around other dogs without responding and is just a whole new dog. Rosie was adopted out of a shelter in LA, set to be euthanized for space after her and her 6 pups were dumped. She came to me with such anxiety, fear of cars, trucks, the train and loud noises. She also was terrified when I left her home alone. The last straw was when she nipped my mother in law. There was no giving up on this dog who loves to cuddle and is such a sweetheart. I knew her behavior required someone with specialized training. Someone that would not add to her fears but be able to find a way to calm her so she could enjoy her doggy life as she should. Rosie found that with Adrianah at ICA. Adrianah understood Rosie from the start. We took a six week program where Rosie went once a week to the ranch, with an hour class for me at pickup time. After week one, Rosie already was calmer. With each week I learned a skill alongside Rosie so that we are now able to go on enjoyable walks and hikes with little to no anxiety. After reading the review that R.S.F wrote. I was very surprised by their 1 star rating. When my wife and I looked into trainers for our dog. We went through a few of them before we found ICA. ICA is a gem! They truly love what they do each and every day. They love and care for all the dogs they take in. ICA is a an amazing community to be apart of but it's more like family. We have been apart of this family for almost 2 years. We love every second of it. Our dog looks forward to going to doggy daycare Monday to Friday! Her tail starts wagging away along with barking and howling because she's so excited to see her friends at daycare. Not just her dog friends but the trainers who are her friends as well. They greet her every morning. Tell us how her day was. Answer our texts when we're checking up on her because she might have had a ruff night before due to fireworks going off. They are always so kind and sweet when it comes to answering our texts. When we first reached out to ICA. My wife was a little apprehensive because of the prong collar and e-collar. She didn't have the best experience when it came to the prong collar due to another trainer (not associated with Inclined Canine Academy) because of that we left that program right away. We tried a few others and finally found the right fit! When we reached out to Keith and the trainers we had a conversation over the phone. It went great. They answered all our questions and they were very professional, friendly, and helpful. My wife told them her concerns when it came to the prong collar and e-collar. They listened and were very understanding and supportive when it came to her concerns. When we did our evaluation in person. They asked my wife what were her concerns. She let them know and they were very understanding and respectful about my wife's concerns. After talking to them they helped my wife feel at ease. When it came to the prong collar and e-collar they went slow and took it day by day to ease us into it. They didn't push us at all to use a prong collar or e-collar. They don't have an agenda of their own. They are truly there for the dogs and the owners to help guide us. They create a program that works best for your dog. They know not all dog and owners learn the same. After our dog graduated from the 6 week day train program. We hardly use the prong collar let alone the e-collar. Having the e-collar just encase gives us a peace of mind when she's off the leash. Having an e-collar lets our dog be a dog because she gets to run around and play freely.
