I absolutely LOVE The Local! This place not only has the best coffees and loose leaf teas, it also makes amazing smoothies and baked goods! I fell in love with the drinks & food the very first time that I went in, and then fell in love with the ambiance! What a cozy, lovely, well arranged sitting area they have! This place is LGBTQ friendly, and we hold our local LGBTQ meetups there often, the staff is polite, friendly, helpful when needing help choosing your drink, and keep the place moving along quickly! The best coffee in the Tri-Cities. Espresso is well-prepared and milk is made with a perfect microfoam and served at the correct temperature. There are also plenty of milk alternatives for the lactose intolerant or vegan crowd. I enjoy the creative "special" drinks that allow for a sweet treat while still letting the coffee shine through. They are using Victrola Coffee at their shop so you know the roast is always going to be high quality and their whole bean price is affordable. read more

Coffee: Not locally roasted, but delicious - imported from Seattle. I had a Guatemalan pourover. A bit pricey: $2.50, but excellent. A perfect place for conversation (although it was quiet enough to hear everyone else's conversations), reading or deep study. FRUSTRATION! No printed menu giving the prices for the various brewing options... They could use some kind of vacuum press available for refills - this would make them much closer to Portland or Seattle for we who need a good study location on a budget. read more

Ok people, we have arrived. This is the first coffee house in the Tri-Cities to have really amazing coffee. There's a few other places that do a decent job, for sure. But this is the place where I'd take my coffee snob friends and brag about it later. I've had a pour over and a latte, both done very smooth with rich flavor and no bitterness. The roast is from an Oregon company called Sleepy Monk, the first I've had of theirs, with many more cups to come. They've done a really nice job with the interior too, it feels like a place I can hang out in for quite a while. I've been telling all my friends to give it a try and you should too. read more

Being from Seattle, and having run a coffee shop for years, when I went to the Tri-cities for State XC championships this year I worried about getting "good" coffee. I ran into The Local and had what is one of the best cups of coffee I have had in years. The barista was knowledgeable and very gracious and I was blown away by the coffee! Today we enjoyed the Miel, a honey and Nutmeg latte. The shots were beautifully pulled, and incredibly smooth. The cardamom latte was also wonderful. Every drink we've had here has been delicious. Atmosphere is nice, but a little cramped for those of us who like to work. read more

Honestly, I've lived all over the country and this is some of the best coffee I've ever had. Their iced coffee is cold brewed and perfect. The latte is made exactly like a latte should. Tried this place today with my daughter because the reviews have been great. We had a panini, which took awhile at 4pm because they had the press off. I had a hot chocolate to stay of course because we were waiting for our sandwich still..but was served in a to go cup..ok . I guess that was a hint? But the panini was good, but the service was so-so and there were flies everywhere. My daughter decided to try the coffee to go on our way out to see if that made up for the misleading reviews, she said it was very good, but wouldn't convince her to go back. So if your strictly looking for a good coffee it's a good bet, but if you want something more friendly check out Barracuda in Richland instead. read more
