I was visiting a friend in the tri-cities and we were craving a smoothie bowl. Yelp steered me to FreshPicks and I was super happy with my bowl. So you can basically take any smoothie and covert it to a bowl. What does that mean? They layer the smoothie with granola and you get 4 add-ons. The Add-ons can be fruit or seeds or protein powder. So I got Tropical Wave smoothie and then added kiwi, strawberry, chia and coconut. I thought it was delicious and refreshing. They also have fruit, pies, coffee and some other fun gift type items like specialty honey and ciders. Service was a little slow, but my bowl was really pretty and tasty. Okay so we are visiting from Seattle today, and I was a little disappointed with the employees. I'm not one that needs to catered on a golden dish but I do expect friendly service no matter the time. We walked in at 5:57pm and were told immediately " you need to hurry we close in 3 minutes" my initial thought is, if your in such a hurry to close then just tell me that your closed and don't want to serve anyone. As the person buying your product, I would think that time is irrelevant as long as I am willing to pay for your time? Or am I wrong? As I said before a simple "sorry we're closing" would have been completely fine. I would have walked out and that's that, but don't tell me I need to hurry because your closing. It makes me feel like you don't care about my business and that you don't care about making profitable sales. We left at 6:01 pm so sorry for the added minute to your work schedule. Anyways the smoothie was delicious, so thanks for that. Will never come back, thanks! Update- I wrote this when I was upset, the staff probably had a hard day and just wanted to go home at the end of the day. One bad experience should not affect the rating as a whole of the establishment. I've give it 5 starts and hope your business is thriving and continues to grow in the future! read more

I was absolutely thrilled when I spotted this place in the tri-cites!! Fresh organic smoothies and fruits! Yes, finally this area is focusing more on healthy cafés than bring in more burger chains. They offer a great selection of smoothies or you can custom make your own. Did I mention they actually offer almond or coconut milk! I also had a cup of the chia seed pudding - perfect! The fruits are frozen but the taste is fresh! Same goes for the mini fruit stand inside along side homemade fruit pies. The best part is that this isn't your usual smoothie chain. Indulge me a bit as I tell you why this is the best smoothie place on the planet. You see, I've made some lifestyle changes over the past year that have lead to some nearly-miraculous health improvements. I could go into them, but I know you're not THAT interested but just trust me when I say that they're pretty amazing. That said, one of the changes I've made is in my diet that now includes a lot of "smoothies". Now for most people, the smoothies that I make suck. They have a lot of greens and they have virtually no sugar -- in other words, most people think that they're gross. But whatever, it's my life right? Well, the problem is that when I travel, I have a hard time replicating these smoothies. Sometimes I'm lucky enough to get a hotel that has a blender and I can make my own, but usually I must rely on the local smoothie places. The problem with the typical smoothie is that it's full of sugar and you're crazy if you think that you're drinking anything other than a glorified milkshake. I'll ask for adjustments and usually I'll get back a "that's not going to taste good" response or they simply will agree yet won't do it the way I ask. FreshPicks though? No push back. Hey, I see that asparagus is in season. Can I buy this bunch and blend it along with half of a pear? No problem. Every time, they've made me exactly what I wanted with no hassle. The stuff is always blended perfectly without too much ice and it's just lovely. I travel a lot and I've attempted to have custom, healthy smoothies made for me in Florida, Texas, Tennessee, Missouri, and California -- and they've never failed to disappoint me. I used to go here at least a couple times a week, I finally had to stop going altogether because the people working there were so consistently rude. It made me dread even going inside to order my favorite smoothie. The service is very unfriendly and they practically glare at you for even being there. The one time I brought a smoothie back because it was thin and not at all like it was usually, the girl didn't apologize and just fought me on it. I also think the menu is deceptive since they don't say that they put agave in their smoothies to make them sweet. I was very upset when I found that out because I was trying to avoid added sugar. If you list most of the other ingredients in the smoothie on the menu, you should list that too. After I started asking them to leave it out I'd always get some kind of weird comment about it from them. They also often close a few minutes before the listed time, if they want to leave that quickly maybe they should just close a earlier so that people don't think they'll still be open... read more

So this place is a smoothie/fruit stand. From the signs in the store it appears to be a fruit farm that has a shop and they sell smoothies. I ordered a blueberry rush and a pb chocolate Chia pudding. The customer service was lacking- no one grated me, told me where to go, or offered to tell me what was good. The blueberry rush was not healthy and they don't cater to healthy ppl. Sure you have fruit but when you throw in a ton of yogurt and milk it's not good for you anymore...if you're comparing apples to apples there are far better places to get a smoothie that taste better too. Now to the Chia pudding. I ordered it and planned to eat it the next morning. About halfway through my drive i looked down at the bananas and they were rotted. Upon further inspection it had a date on it that definitely wasn't the made by date and was too far away to be the expire date. I tossed it. I'll never go back. read more

2 stars for a "B+" smoothie, -3 stars for customer service. Walked in the main door to a giant produce cart blocking the entry way - had to squeeze by to even enter the store front! Employees had left their own food and drink at a customer table while they worked. Upon checkout, one (out of only two) of the employees decided to take a personal phone call in the back room, while a line formed and one employee was left alone to make drinks. Had to wait almost 10 minutes to pay. Overall a disappointing experience. read more

I've always been one to give second chances, sometimes thirds, but I've been in here about 10 times and the customer service in this place is horrendous EVERY single time. They don't Acknowledge you when you walk in, smile, or give any indication that you're even there. When you finally get someone's attention you have to do all the work, like literally no one says "how can I help you? " "what can I get you?" "Ready to order?" NOTHING. It's seriously the most awkward thing ever. The drinks take another 5-7 minutes to make (which is fine because they do make good drinks , which is the only reason why I step food in there at all). So usually I'm "in and out" in about 20 minutes every time I go, which is outrageous to me!!!Especially when usually it's just 1-3 people in there at a time and always 2 employees with one doing the work and the other sitting in the back. I just had to write a review because I hope a manager sees this and reevaluates the staff. Sorry ladies, do your job or find one that you don't have to speak or be in any sort of customer service situation at all. read more

A very fine establishment. I enjoy the tropical wave smoothie bowl immensely, the Caribbean cooler and bam bam berry are also very pleasing to the palette. The fruit tarts are phenomenal and the apple sandwiches are a great quick snack. The employees have only ever been extremely pleasant and helpful. I tried the tropical wave green smoothie. Mango and spinach among other things. It was so delicious I could hardly put it down. I didn't get brain freeze which is actually something amazing when it comes to smoothies. In addition to their smoothie bar, where you can select from one of their recipes or make your own recipe, they also sell local fruits and veggies, pastries, salads and salad dressing, apple cider, and more. One favorite thing I noticed was that they sell frozen tart cherries and tart cherry juice. Those are packed with antioxidants and great for reducing post-workout or post-run damage and pain (I read a study once). Not much of a place for hanging out, but great to grab and go. Employees were friendly and helpful. I'll be back to try more recipes. read more
