Needless to say we met Lara, fell in love with the venue and she made everything easy. The guidelines were flexible enough that we would be able to customize our event to our expectations. We chose a mid may date as weather was just right and rains should be done. Now to share a few of our experience. Our guest ct was at 250 and our only option for a reception was outdoors, which was fine due to weather, we used the indoor venue for cocktail hour, our bar setup, photo booth and dancing. Weather is tricky and judging by the shift in weather June dates might be a safer bet moving forward, just have to watch that heat. We were able to use the venue the day prior to host a small welcome reception for our wedding party and access to deliver items was clutch. We utilized both outdoor spaces as the kids entertainment/arts and crafts and the other side as an overflow during reception. We use the top of the stairs to feature our violinist during cocktail hour. Restrooms we thought might not be enough for our guest count so we ordered luxury portable restrooms but found out later that not may guests used it. Overall I would highly recommend The Margaux and Lara to anyone who wants to host an unforgettable event with one of the coolest entrepreneur. We hired her very early on in the process one year and a half to be exact because we wanted to be stress free and we wanted things to be taken care of which she seemed like she would do that for us. However during that year and a half little did we know that nothing would really be getting taken care of . In our meetings with her she would constantly assure us that things were fine however we saw no real result of things being "taken care of" no venues were booked there was no money being put down to any vendor . My wife and I were the ones who were making the phone calls to ask for prices , setting up meetings with vendors we wanted and so much more we were doing . This was the reason we hired a wedding coordinator was to handle these things for us . The meetings after a while seemed to be pointless . We found out no information about our wedding from the meetings we would have with her . She was Also never able to give us an exact quote or even an estimate of how much our decor would be which she was also in charge of. It was extremely hard to get ahold of her . She would take days to respond to texts, phone calls , and emails. Finally when we did get a price from her for her decor ONLY she quoted us $22,000. Which we at the time did not know any better and did not know that her decor prices were extremely over priced . The decor we had picked out was decent it was not top of the line it did not look like it was 22,000 worth . We had to take many many things out of our wedding that we had originally dreamed of having and it was beginning to not feel like the wedding we wanted . We began to question what she had exactly done for us this past year and a half as far as "planning " and taking care of things for us. Our wedding is only 5 months away and she has only made two deposits with the money we had been giving her . We had been giving Victoria thousands to hold for us and distribute our money to the proper vendors and only a few hundred had been distributed . Mind you we are 5 months away from our wedding . As we began to get suspicious of her pricing and intentions for our wedding we decided to look around and get other decor pricing . We found an amazing lady in Sanger Ca who would give us everything we wanted for about $14,000 LESS. How is that possible that she was going to charge us $22,000 for decor not including food, not including her planning services , etc. just $22,000 for decor . Yet we looked around and added everything we originally wanted and dreamed of and found it all for $8,000? It seemed to us that we were buying her decor for her and not renting it . I had also made it crystal clear in the beginning that I did not want a church wedding . And come to find out later that Victoria put a $500 deposit of our money down for a church for our wedding .... I was mind blown. No one ever told her to do that we did NOT GIVE HER PERMISSION TO PUT A deposit down with our money for a church . she clearly was not listening to our needs and wants and doing what she felt was best for us . We did in the end up parting ways with her and got all of the money back we had been giving to her besides the $3500 we owed her she kept that which we also felt was wrong considering she did not do one bit of the planning . We are now 5 months away from our wedding and are now scrambling to do all of the things victoria said she would "take care" of . She really tried to take advantage of us by charging us $14,00 more than what she should have. She is unreliable and unprofessional . She did things with our money we DID NOT approve of . We did have an exit meeting with Victoria and Kevin where my mother went over all the details that they missed and described how unhappy we were. I normally would feel confident handling the issues myself, but I was too upset, I felt duped. Victoria thought that everything with the wedding went well, but apologized that we did not feel the same. Yes, my husband and I hugged Victoria and Kevin at the end of the night. Victoria is a "hugger" and hugged us at the conclusion of every meeting. When I first arrived to the church I even told her how thankful I was for her and that I could not have pulled off my wedding without her. But that's when I was under the impression that everything we discussed was going to be taken care of. During the exit meeting, Victoria asked me why I did not tell them on my wedding day about my unhappiness. I told her that I did not want to discuss all the issues during my reception as I was not going to allow all of the things that they missed or that were wrong, ruin my day. GMofE knew we weren't happy because my mom continued to ask Victoria's staff why she wasn't at the reception. When Victoria arrived my mom did discuss immediate concerns with her. I don't understand why they would have video of my husband and me hugging them as I did not have a videographer at my wedding or reception. Seems odd to me that they felt it necessary to need video of us hugging them. There were so many details missed and because the Wedding Wire site limits the number of words in the reviews, I only included those that I felt were more significant. I didn't have space to write about the wild goose chase we went on for an alternate venue because Victoria thought that our 1st choice venue was already booked. She didn't tell us this and we followed her to several potential venues. When Victoria finally disclosed that our 1st choice venue was already booked, I didn't understand how this was possible since I had a signed contract and had already given a deposit. I can only assume that she wasn't aware that WE were the ones that booked the venue on my date because she never got back to me about my questions regarding the venue's contract. I didn't get to include that all several of the corsages and boutonnieres were never given to the people that they were intended for. At the end of the wedding ceremony, they were still lying on the banister at the entrance of the church. In our pictures G'Ma has a corsage, G'Pa has nothing. My aunts who we wanted recognized as being special to our wedding were supposed to have big beautiful orchids ... they received nothing ... must have been left on the banister. My brothers were my honor attendants and I wanted to make sure they ha nice orchid boutonniere's. They received the ones with the small, ordinary looking chrysanthemums ... one of my least favorite flower. I told Victoria that I do not like centerpieces with all the greenery filler, that I like all flowers. My centerpieces were lots of green filler leaves and chrysanthemums. I did tell Victoria that I was starting to like the unique look of spider mums. These were not spider mums. I didn't get to include that we specifically gave Victoria my "guest book" plate so she could make sure it arrived at the ceremony. She didn't bring it to the church, only the reception. The candles down the aisle were not lit after specifically discussing with her the look/feel we wanted for our ceremony and if the church would allow the candles to be lit. I'm sure they don't light the candles so they can charge someone else to rent the same candles. The point is that my mom and I thought of all of the details, but just needed someone to execute them. We had several meetings where were assured by Victoria that the details would be taken care of. Victoria told us over and over "I can see it all in my head." I agree with Betsy J.'s review (in the filtered Yelp reviews) that at the beginning, they promise you everything. They make you feel all warm and fuzzy. You feel good and confident so you give them yours or your family's hard earned money .... $2,000 cash and sign their contract that says that they can fire you, but if you want to fire them you lose your $2,000. You're still feeling warm and fuzzy and think, "They're great! I'm not going to want to fire them." And then after some time passes you begin to notice that things aren't going as you were told that they would. You are afraid that by expressing that you aren't happy with their services they will execute the clause in the contract where they can fire you, and you're going to be out $2,000. If you chose to hire Gofer for your event, I hope that you have a better experience than I did.

Vanessa is by far the WORST venue coordinator I've interacted with in terms of customer service, industry knowledge, and communication skills. If you read the other positive reviews, you'll notice they ALL paid additional money for Vanessa to be their wedding coordinator. If you do not pay this, she is a horror to work with (as corroborated by the negative reviews), and I recommend AVOIDING this venue. Another reviewer also stated the owner is her brother-in-law so there is no recourse for her behavior and there are no other venue coordinators available. Detailed below are just some of the negatives: - The wedding was actually for my sister. She was having difficulties with Vanessa so asked me to assist. I reached out to Vanessa explaining who I was but never received a response. Instead, Vanessa told my sister that she felt threatened by my contact and will only work with individuals that signed the venue contract. I never said anything negative, but she often overreacted and took offense over nothing. - Every response took 2 weeks. She would contradict herself in the same email, which added confusion. - She would use made up lingo and when asked for clarification, she would blame us for not understanding "industry language" and still wouldn't clarify. In my 10 years, I've never heard some of the terms that she used. - She didn't understand standard wedding requests. We asked for a cake table and Vanessa responded that the request was unclear because she didn't know what size a cake table should be. We asked to add 2 rectangular side tables for guestbooks, gifts, etc. On the proposal, Vanessa commented "unsure why the client requested". - Unless asked, she wouldn't disclose critical information. We asked multiple times if additional tables (sweetheart, cocktail, etc.) are free. Vanessa confirmed they were free, but once the proposal arrived, it showed free tables with each linen at an additional charge. I told my sister to confirm if the venue provided cake cutting utensils. They don't (which is fine) but this is all information that you tell your clients without prompting. Imagine cutting the cake with no utensils! - When asked questions, she rudely responded with "NO" or "YOU'RE RESPONSIBLE" - In the 1.5 years of planning, despite multiple requests, the venue proposal was only updated twice - once for the initial contract and once when full payment was due 30 days before the event. My sister had to withhold final payment to get her to update it. She updated it 1 week after with inaccurate information. We annotated and returned it next day saying that she'd pay once it was correct. Vanessa had the audacity to respond that making notes on the proposal made it seem like they were stalling payment. Granted, there were 1-2 new updates amongst many more corrections but it was because Vanessa withheld information, and new adjustments were required after seeing the revised proposal for the 1st time. - Vanessa never provided a table layout. My sister had to create it and then confirmed if 5 round tables per row would work. On wedding day, we arrived to a different layout of 4 rounds per row. Vanessa blamed it on a 2 ft. wide photo arch, stating that she had to make adjustments to fit the arch. However, it was evident that the room would have NEVER fit 5 rounds per row. We had to rearrange the seating chart and the chairs to accommodate for her mess. - Also on wedding day, Vanessa was surprised to find the timeline included a champagne toast. Mind you, the timeline was provided 30 days ago and toasts are standard in weddings. So, she gave us 30 mins to decide on the additional champagne cost. I asked to remove 1 champagne bottle charge as there was an entire table of kids, but she refused. So apparently, the venue includes children in the champagne count even though serving alcohol to minors is illegal. - There was also a safety hazard. About 25 chairs with wheels/casters were intermingled with standard dining chairs. I unknowingly sat in a chair with casters and almost fell. There was no visible difference between the standard chairs vs. chairs with casters, and the table linens prevent anyone from seeing the casters. I told Vanessa who saw no issues and argued that people falling out their chair has never happened before. Thankfully, we were able to get these all replaced prior to the wedding to avoid any older guests from getting hurt. To the owner: Not only is Vanessa horrible to clients, but since she never updated the proposal, the kitchen used the original headcount and cooked 40 additional meals (talk about a waste of money). Also, due to not providing a layout, the banquet captain Griselda set up tables once, and then had to come back 1 hr earlier to redo all her work, all of which was avoidable.

The review is longwinded, but please read before booking an event through The Painted Table Event Center. My husband and I chose The Painted Table Event Center for our wedding reception because of its highly rated events, good reputation of food, and nice atmosphere. We were planning a destination wedding as we do not live in Fresno, which made planning more difficult. We originally decided to go with the Painted Table from talking with a different employee who soon left after we booked the date. We were then transferred to Vanessa, where all the problems began - especially after we declined to hire her as our wedding planner. We were extremely disappointed and frustrated working with Vanessa as she had poor and confusing means of communication. She always used her own made-up jargon that she called "event planning jargon" when communicating with us, which led to multiple misunderstandings. Vanessa would also contradict herself within the same lines of communication and then reply with attitude when we asked for clarification, which was extremely unprofessional. Communicating was complicated as she would take multiple weeks to respond to our questions. Because we booked the venue over a year in advance, we had discussed finalizing details as the date approached. Rather than updating the proposal as we finalized details, she refused to make the updates until the day of the final payment, then blamed us for delaying the process. When she did update the proposal, she would not correct the numbers which showed we had a higher price to pay. In consequence, we often sent line-item corrections to each draft of the proposal, essentially doing her job for her, to attempt to get the corrections. We also asked about our open bar package and ensured the champaign toast was included multiple different times. She did eventually tell us via text message that it was indeed included, but the day of the wedding, she told us it was not included and charged us extra for it. We unfortunately updated our phones a few weeks before the wedding and no longer had written proof of her stating this. We had tried working on the table layout on the Prism App prior to the event, in an attempt to finalize the layout. But she never corrected us on the dimensions of the floor and tables, so when we arrived to decorate, we discovered the tables arranged differently than expected. This resulted in trying to re-number the tables in a way that made sense the morning of, which was frustrating as we had certain guests seated to specific locations of the room for specific reasons. Vanessa was rude and unpleasant to work with for months and made the entire planning process much more stressful than necessary. On the morning of the wedding, during set up she also sat in the corner of the room, being standoffish and glaring at our family who were there to help us. As we continued with the planning process, we realized this is not the first time she's made planning difficult for others, and we won't be the last. In previous negative reviews she's received, the owner, who is also her brother-in-law, has come to her defense. This will likely happen with our review as well. We do not recommend booking anything through The Painted Table, despite the other positive reviews. These positive reviews are mostly from attendees rather than the people who hired them. It wasn't worth the unnecessary heartache. If I could rate 0 stars, I would.

Recently rented this venue for a baptism and I highly recommend them. The owner is hands on and…read morewilling to take some of their decor down if it clashes with yours. We had about 150 people here but could easily have over 300 and the area would still feel open. You can rent almost everything you need through them so that's also amazing!!!! There are clean and updated bathrooms and an ac and baby room available. There is plenty of space for the kids to run around and a small playground. There is easy access for food vendors but not the band. We couldn't have vehicles drive all the way in because they didn't want to damage the concrete or have tire marks left. I completely understand that but putting it out here so that you can allow the band to set up way in advanced. Our bad was a little frustrated because they had to carry it in and set up cut into the hours we paid for. We didn't have two hiccups like this so overall we were pretty happy. Would definitely book again. Side note: with COVID it's also nice to be in an open venue were everyone feels safe.
