I wanted to wait a while before I wrote this review, now feels like an appropriate time. I am giving this 2-stars solely because the engine checked out, price was okay ($8.5k, realistically should have been $7k), and the body/trim is decent (5/10). We went to Independence Auto and Adam to buy my little brother's first car (2010 Honda Accord 2.4L EX-L, 96k mileage). Please, BUYER BEWARE at this dealership!!! Adam clearly does not inspect vehicles at all, and does not give a discount for anything faulty you find (only offers to fix it himself at an additional cost, which after reading reviews here, you can understand why many are hesitant to let them work on the car themselves, Lord knows what work they'll actually do vs. say they did). My little brother is new to cars, so he did not notice that the brake system was completely busted (Calipers, Rotors, and Pads were all destroyed) until I did a separate test drive myself. When I approached Adam about this, he got defensive, did not believe me, and so I told him to drive it himself, and that's when he noticed it. He made us sign a waiver regarding this, and sure enough, the second day the brake alarm started to beep constantly (Thank God it made it all the way home first, some of the horror stories in the reviews definitely had us worried!). That same second day, the battery was also very loosely connected and it caused the car to not start. I had to tighten the wires myself before being able to take it to the shop. Once we brought the car to our mechanic, upon putting it on the lift, we noticed an excessive amount of rust, and that both axles were on the verge of snapping. Ended up having to pay $2400 in repairs so that it was safe to drive and could pass NYS inspection (it otherwise definitely could not have, and there is still a back left tire leak we are working on). Lastly, we ended up having to drive all the way back to NJ (140 miles round trip) once the title was ready, as we did not trust Adam to send it in the mail properly/correctly and/or on-time (there was a $120 fee if THEY lost anything in the mail, some customers did complain about title issues and not getting them on time as the temporary plate expired, so we figured we'd just mitigate the risk and get it ourselves). When we arrived for the title, he made the poor joke of saying "wow I'm surprised the car is still running". Deep down, I trust he knows what kind of shady business they are running. Hope this shows you what kind of place and person you are dealing with. All in all, this place is sketchy and Adam is extremely cocky, arrogant, obnoxious, and definitely your typical greasy phony used car salesmen (at one point he even bragged about having a lot of money saying "you want to see the bank? I'm doing good man", while negotiating price with us). If you need to buy a car, go somewhere else. However, if you do find yourself buying a car here and from Adam, please do your due diligence and if possible, bring your mechanic!!!

Bought a 2008 Mazda 3 from here for 5k and it's been about 6 months and not a single problem I would definitely recommend buying your used car from here

Cars are overpriced and have significant issues. Sales people are nice enough. Don't waste your time.

This dealer is terrible. They lie and steal. They kept my deposit and would not fix the problem with the car. Do not buy a car from them

Truth be told it was anything but. And for that I have to give all the credit to Kerri Villani my Senior Sales Consultant, that's who this review and the five star rating is about, she made this easy and painless. The first thing she asked me was what was I looking for and she wasn't talking model, I told her I wanted to lower my monthly payment. She explained a few numbers to me, we agreed on the money down and she said give me a minute. Kerri came back with a price $35 lower than my current monthly payment. The deal was done. No haggling, no negotiations, no multiple trips to see what the Sales Manager said. My wife recently got a different make car, that deal took seven hours. Seven hours! I was back in my kitchen with my new Honda parked outside in three hours. Kerri Villani is the best! And I look forward to saying that about Hamilton Honda too. So far first impressions are excellent, after all they allow Kerri to conduct business in the style she does. That and my Civic came with free oil changes and free car washes for as long as I have the car. We're off to a great start!

When my son got there, the issues started immediately. First, the listing photos were clearly taken at angles that hid major cosmetic damage. There were extreme scratches down one side of the car, a dent on the roof, and another scrape on the back that were not clearly shown in the pictures at all. Then my son got into the car and a warning light came on saying the power steering system had failed. The seller himself couldn't even reverse the car out of the parking spot. Instead of handling the situation professionally, he had my sons follow him on the highway to another garage just to diagnose the issue, only to then say it would take two hours or more to fix the problem. After they drove all that way and took time off work, he still wouldn't budge on the price or make any effort to accommodate them. No accountability, no professionalism, and no respect for other people's time. Do yourself a favor and don't buy from this guy.

However, there is an expectation that the dealer has done a full inspection of the vehicles they're selling and that they will disclose any major issues to you. This is not the case with Absolute Auto. My 19 year old daughter purchased a car from them. She paid every penny she had saved, $4,100. We brought it to the mechanic, thinking the brakes might need replacing. We paid $1,100 to have the sub-frame bushings replaced. Less than 30 days later, she was broken down on the side of the highway. We had it towed to our mechanic who told us there were two holes in the engine and it would need to be replaced. $3,700. When all is said and done, we will be out almost $9,000 for a crappy old 2007 Nissan. If you're thinking of going here, think again. I have filed a consumer complaint against them, so hopefully something will come of that. Just wanted to also put this out there, so some other unsuspecting Mother/Daughter duo don't get robbed. You can tell by not only the reviews, but by their defensive and disgusting responses to their customer base how awful they truly are. PS - not to mention the entire staff was in the lot smoking pot at 10 AM when I got there...
