A few years ago, one of my rear molars cracked on a holiday weekend. When the tooth cracked, I called Grand River Dental and was able to see Dr. Rondeau that weekend. Needless to say, I did have to have a crown and unfortunately a root canal too. Dr. Rondeau took great care of me throughout this process. He called an oral surgeon colleague of his who got me in on an emergency basis for the root canal. Crowns and root canals are never a wonderful experience, but I felt I was given great dental care throughout. Since then, my entire family has switched their dental care to the people of Grand River Dental. I find the receptionists to be friendly and welcoming. And the hygienists are always friendly and try to make you as comfortable as possible during the cleaning process.

Which when I had set the appointment up was told that they most generally send extractions out to a surgeon. After the last cancellation I was told that she was going to charge me $50.00 for not giving a 24 hr notice. That was ok, I scheduled my next appointment only because someone else had answered and I was informed that I could go to a surgeon on Hill Rd. (I Use YourRide-which means Genesee Co. only) the previous person had told me that they sent patients to 59 in Hartland, not covered by YourRide. I was willing to pay the money, but when you live on Disability bills are hard to pay. In good faith I called today to tell them that I do not have the $50.00 fee due to a late cancellation. My appointment was for this Wednesday, August 6. Now mind you my emergency is a back molar that has split in half. This is the 5th tooth that has done this since Primary Bone Cancer. It doesn't hurt at this point, but it will, it is difficult to chew on just the one side. Why is it when I was coming in find out if they could take it out, the others just basically fell out. There's no surgery to it. There is no money in it, when a general dentistry doesn't do general, anymore but sends everyone to a surgeon. But instead concentrates on Cosmetic Services instead..... I was going to pay, just because I am poor doesn't mean I'm going to rip you off. I wish I could say the employees name but I won't stoop to her non-compassionate attitude towards someone with a tooth dangling in their mouth. I as a former healthcare professional wonders what happened to compassionate patient care. It used to be a higher calling, like Pastors, Priests and Clergy.
