A bit disappointed with my experience at India house, we got 2 curries and chicken biryani to go. The curry consistency was lumpy and off (for both curries), wasn't a fan of either of them. The chicken biryani, on the other hand, was excellent. Good size, spicy, super flavorful, etc. Butter naan was average. All in all, your overall Indian food expectations should be lower in PR but there are probably better options in my opinion. I'll probably give it another shot and eat it fresh. read more

Absolutely amazing experience! We ordered naan, daal, mango lassi, and saag gosht, and everything was outstanding fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The meat in the saag gosht was super tender and melted in your mouth. The restaurant was very clean, and the staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. Parking can be found in front. Seating is indoors. Service was friendly but not quite professional (our server was snarky). Decor is a like a fast food place. Pricing was about what we expected. But there was an immediate cleanliness problem. But for a single person when we arrived (who left shortly after), the place was otherwise empty. Yet none of the tables were clean. Not even the one where our server seated us. I asked him to clean our table and he said yes of course but never did (so I cleaned it myself). The entire time we were there, no tables were bussed, nothing was cleaned. There were also some cobwebs on the wall. But we stuck it out to try the food. We ordered some Garlic Nan, Keema Aloo (ground beef and potatoes), Gosht Curry (lamb curry), and Halwaa for dessert. The meals came with a serving of Basmati rice. Everything tasted good. The keema was balanced in flavor, the curry was spiced well and not overbearing, and the garlic nan was yum. I can't claim to know what traditional Indian food tastes like but I've tried quite a few Indian restaurants and I feel the food we had here was on par in flavor. The Halwaa was especially good. Real pistachios were used. The food we had here was good. No complaints about that. But the cleanliness and presentation of this place leaves much to be desired. Also, I can put up with snarky servers but many others will not and so neither will my review. Docked a star for cleanliness and docked another for snarky comments by our server. I think this place has potential based on its food but until then I can't recommend a place that isn't maintaining a professional standard. read more

We felt like we ate MTR's (pre-packaged) food and Naan' were from stone Creek. If you are craving Indian - def go there and try the food. This is a family-run hole-in-the-wall Indian restaurant for those who are craving some Desi food! It's a great place to eat if you consider how it's hard to find Desi spices in PR. If you come during busy hours with a large group, you might have some trouble getting a table big enough. The restaurant was set up like a fast food place. We were a party of 5 and had to sit at separate tables because the tables were screwed into the floor and couldn't be moved together. Then there was the price to food ratio. A small bottle of water was $2.00. The chicken tikka was 18.00 for a 4 oz cup. If we weren't a group with elderly people who were hungry we would have left. I'm Indian and went there for lunch today with my parents who are visiting the island. The food was solid. We tried 5-6 different dishes. I will definitely go back. Don't expect a 5 star Delhi hotel Indian food experience, but as the only Indian spot in Puerto Rico I appreciate their bringing Indian cuisine to the island - saag, channa, yellow daal, gobi was all enjoyable, as were desserts like kheer w vermicelli. Homemade dhahi (yogurt) was a plus. The owner was super friendly and charming. He accommodated all requests. We asked then to use as little oil as possible, and they listened unlike most Indian restaurants. They don't ruin the food with insane amounts of chili pepper, like 90% of Indian restaurants. It's on the side, which was a big plus. We drove 15 minutes from Condado and look fw to making the trip again. Fior what it's worth, the place was full (Saturday lunch) with several tables of Indians - so it's Indian-approved guys!! read more

This place was great! Highly recommend for anyone traveling to PR. Only a 10 minute drive from Condado. The service was excellent- truly some of the best service we have had in a very long time. We are from the States but have lived here in PR for some time now. Was happy to find this restaurant as we love Indian food and are use to great meals. The food wasn't bad but we are used to eating fresh made naan bread and more authentic taste. I can't remember the spelling of what we had but it's basically traditional Indian food..lamb Marsala and a chicken tikki Marsala, rice and naan bread. The dish should've had some spice and usually they'll ask if you want it spicer. We had to ask for hot sauce. If you don't like ANY spice or seasoning you'll like it and I feel that they used commercially prepared sauces because the food temperature was warm. No steam coming from the plates at all. The lamb Marsala was $20 and the chicken was $16. Both were the serving size for an eight year old. We were stunned!! So we thought maybe it's their lunch size and it'll be a reduced price when we get the check. NOPE. Full price for a child's portion. No Indian music playing, no atmosphere unfortunately. The people were nice tho. The food isn't terrible but it's not good enough to go back. I'd pay for the child's portion food I'd it was good, hot and authentic but it's not so we won't be back. Honestly I would just skip it and save your money. Spent $52 and was still hungry so we went down the street and ate at El Cairo, a middle eastern restaurant that was great!!! Highly recommend El Cairo. The food, the Egyptian vibe and everything was such a great rebound. Really disappointed in India House. We were soo hoping it was going to be good.
