    Tom Kha Kai
    Francisco V.

Left Old San Juan on a Sunday and was struggling to find Indian food since I arrived back here in PR, so Yelp directed me here. Was surprised to see a mixed Thai and Indian restaurant - not really the most related set of cuisines but decided to go try it out. Ordered samosas and a Tom Kha Kai as those are my staples in any Indian and Thai restaurants respectively. Was surprised to see the samosas sliced in half - guessing it's more so for presentation but that was a first. They were pretty flavorful, but I expect a kick in my Indian food and this was not present. I was also told their green sauce (mint chutney) would have a kick and it was notably absent. The tamarind sauce was good but it was missing something that I still can't really identify. The Tom Kha Kai was not on the spicy side at all, and the sauce they gave me to tack on to it was mild - however it was one of the three best Tom Kha I have ever tried, which is saying a lot. I had Paneer Makhani for my main course and two things I noticed - I expected the color to be more towards red, and this was not. The second was the rice - yellow basmati, as if it was cooked with saffron. I may be a bit of a snob but I like my basmati to be white when I eat Indian food as I don't want anything else influencing the flavor. The curry was good, but it didn't have that velvety texture usually seen in Makhani dishes - probably due to a reduced tomato content. And it was definitely missing some heat. Service was great and consistent. There were two servers at all times checking in and refilling water, and they were overall very courteous. Ambiance is a tossup - paper handkerchiefs with the cutlery is a no-no for Indian food since it's saucy and can spill easy. You couldn't even cover your lap with what was offered. The music was one small thing looped over and over, so it was repetitive. And it was expensive. $28.00 for the Paneer Makhani was overkill. I don't even pay that much for it in the finest Indian restaurants in Miami! 3/5. Good food but misses the mark for the price being paid. Would go back for the Tom Kha, or if someone else was footing the bill.

Aloo parata with uncooked dough and a thin layer of aloo.

Ok! I only ordered Aloo Parata and puri for my kids. Must say never have I seen an aloo parata or puri like that. Both of them were almost an inch think and uncooked.

The roti is not that good. Its more of thick bread.

The indian food here is bit pricey. Alert- They will charge you 18% gratuity by default even for 1-2 people. Food- The lentil soup was really good. Creamy and delicious. The malai kofta is not that good. It has less gravy and bigger size koftas. The tandoori roti is not good either. The tomato sauce on the side with roti is actually better than the malai kofta gravy. Though the sauce portion is little. Overall- May be the thai cuisine is much better but the indian food is just below average for its taste, quality and price.

    Nothing yet!

Go here if you're not hungry, because by the time you finally get your food, you will be starving. Long wait after sitting down. Food was OK.

Worst Indian food I have ever tasted! So, without looking at the reviews inside we wnt by the stars. So we wondered how did Indians voted good stars for this horrible place and then figured out it must be for thai food or Americans who haven't tasted real Indian food must have given good stars. We ordered malai kofta- omg it was so tangy and sour and could not even take the gravy. So we did eat the kofta with naan leaving the gravy. They did give some tikka masala along with naan. Thought it tasted bland, it was better than the malai in the malai kofta. The spring rolls were decent and thai iced tea was nice. The one star is for those two item. I think they just use the thai sauces for Indian item. Next coming to paapadam, it was microwaved for heaven sake and it was not made well. They charged 3$ for half burnt papad. I thought it will be deep fried paapad, but no! On top of the agony, for a party of 2, they added 15$ gratuity of 7$ which took our bill over 50$ for one malai kofta, paapad, ice tea and naan. The taste was so bad that we had to eat ice cream to take it away.

The service was good and the food very tasty. I had Gang Ped (Red Curry with Chicken and Shrimp) with rice. Highly recommend to anyone who loves Thai or Indian cuisine.

Parking is a bit of a downside since there isn't much available, so I had to pay for parking. Once inside, though, everything moved incredibly fast. I got my food in less than 10 minutes, which is probably the fastest I've ever been served at a restaurant. It almost made me question how fresh it was, but after eating, I can say it was actually very good. I ordered the grilled white fish with lemon and egg fried rice with yum yum sauce on the side, plus shrimp tempura sushi to go. The yum yum sauce tasted like a mix of ketchup and mayonnaise, but when I mixed it with the fried rice, it was really, really good. The fish itself was tasty but needed more salt I ended up adding salt and squeezing lime over it to bring out the flavor. It seemed like it was only seasoned during marination and not finished properly. The salad wasn't anything special, but overall, for how quickly the food came out, the quality was impressive. Portions are generous, and the pricing matches what you get. We came around midnight and left close to 1 AM when they were closing. The place looked packed, but service was still quick and efficient. Our server was okay--nothing standout, but no issues either. Overall, I'd come back. Fast service, solid food, and a good late-night option.

The sushi rolls left a lot to be desired for - the one with the beef in it wasn't quite good. We only ate a piece of it. The crab Rangoons were decent - nothing to write home about. The service could have been better - even with such few people in the restaurant we were waiting many times for service, water, cheque etc.

I admittedly had low expectations for Chinese food in PR, but the lo mein with chicken was delicious! They also had a few vegan options, like the imperial ginger w tofu (essentially sweet & sour tofu) that comes with a side of rice. My lo mein did not come with a side of rice but the portion size could be split among two people, and you can add a side of rice for a small up charge. The vibe is a black & red Asian decor, with a rap around bar and a few restaurant tables. There is also a walk-up boba bar attached that's available on the dining menu.

We tried the pan fried veggie dumplings, scallion pancake, hongkong noodles, imperial ginger tofu, black bean chicken, ube pudding and donut with condensed milk. Also 4 drinks - ranging from floral soju based, tropical gin based to fruity bourbon ones. Everything tasted alright - but don't go here expecting authentic flavors - just get ur trip fix ins for asian inspired food. Also I'd skip the imperial ginger and anything that has sweet spicy description as those dishes only lean toward sweet sugary sauce flavors. Service is good but they took really long to come out with the desserts and then the check.

It's certainly not the best pho or pad Thai we've ever had but it is solid. My pho had a generous amount of herbs and bean sprouts and the pad Thai didn't have the strong tamarind and peanut flavor that I am used to but was still acceptable. This satisfied our craving for Asian food nicely.

At the Noodle Merchant, I tried their chicken wings and dumplings. The wings were fried nicely but I didn't like the filling inside of the dumplings. It tasted too mushy for my liking. At Himalaya's, I had their seafood hot pot. All of the seafood was not fresh, but that may be because of the hurricane. I didn't like how the hot pot was just full of sauce. If it were some kind of broth (like it's supposed to be) I would have enjoyed it more. But the "hot pot" ($22) was more like a giant stir fry swimming in soy sauce mixture. I did like the presentation though and the rice was nice. I'm glad there's an Asian stall but seeing them boil ramen packages like I do at home and then charge $15 is not what I call good eats. Again, not sure what's normal and what's changed due to the hurricane. I would like to come back and give it another shot.
