This place if God sent, quite literally. Was ecstatic finding this peurto Rico where I found it rather hard to find vegetarian options. The plantains in the house special was just fab, so flavorful. Enjoyed the whole plate, quite healthy too. The empanadas stain were the best we had in PR. I wish they were open for more hours. This place has a very chill vibe to it. Has great vegan options too. I wish I found it earlier and came here every day

special - Kofta curry, potato sabzi and rice

Govinda's claims it's Indian food but it's far from it. Lacking in flavors, undercooked tomato base (for Kofta curry) and a potato sabzi which is mashed turmeric-flavored potatoes at best. Samosas which were ... well empanadas with a filling which was a mystery to me. Do not let the association of ISKCON fool you, this place serves a version of Indian food which is not fusion but a spin-off of "Indian" vegan food. Not worth my expensive Uber ride and definitely not worth the $20 I spent on the food!

    Special plate

I would not recommend this place to anyone. The food is not great. Do not waste your time or money going to this place. There are tons of vegan/ vegetarian options in PR.

The food is fresh and delicious! If you're looking for a healthy option in the San Juan area please visit this place. The guy in the front did speak English and the daily special was really amazing. We got the plate that included a little bit of everything. Try

I had the vegan burger with broccoli potato and pumpkin. It was amazing.

Aalyah, thank you so much for making our last meal in San Juan so special!! The portions are huge! I split an app with 3 people and honestly the main dishes can be split among two people as well. It was very tasty especially the chicken, and the ribs! The place also looked amazing and we were given a semi-private room for such a large group. Thanks for having us!!

We visited on a Monday night without a reservation and almost didn't get a table. The hostess was incredibly kind and explained that there was an 8:00 p.m. reservation that hadn't been confirmed. She offered to seat us if the party didn't arrive within the grace period. Thankfully, they never showed up, and the table became ours. From that point on, everything was fantastic. The food was spectacular, and the service was just as impressive. Every dish was beautifully prepared and full of flavor. The restaurant itself is charming and inviting--it really does feel like dining in a cozy "casita." If you're visiting San Juan, Casita Miramar is absolutely worth a visit. Great food, excellent service, and a memorable dining experience.

Walk, run, drive, float, fly, cancel that trip to Hawaii; do what you need to do; Eat dinner here immediately! I mean like, right now. It's 4am and you're in Wisconsin? Don't care. You should be here. I went out looking for a healthy salad after days of eating very rich foods. Planned to go to Opa! Opa was packed, but the doors were locked and the sign was off, despite not closing for another hour according to maps. Oh well. What's this up here? Paulina's. Ok let me check Yelp. Great ratings let's see if they have salads. Right on Ashford, indoor and outdoor seating. It was packed and there was 45 minutes til close. So I went straight to the bar. The server/bartender gave me the best service on this trip. She was prompt, checked in me at the right time, spoke to me in Spanish when I tried but English when I needed to. She was warm and smiled to everyone. While she made drinks i asked random things about the island, the language, and she seemed happy to tell me about it. Vibe was elegant, slightly high scale. I didn't know until I saw the menu... oh this is a Mexican restaurant! I drank an old fashion. It was delicious but tasted a little weak. Not sure how that can be when it's all liquor basically. Maybe I was just in a mode. But it was good. In retrospect, wtf am I drinking an old fashion for? Should have had something more Caribbean! They had a great looking salad called El Orgánico iirc. But then I saw this interesting dish that came with a side salad. It is called "Torta elote de escanes" I think. Something like that. In Arizona a torta is a sandwich on a bun de Frances or Bolio. So I was struck when I read the description. Something about a corn soufflé, with green chiles. Sounded good but not crazy good. But then it went on "this is the one thing you should order at Paulina." Ok, who am I to argue? I ordered the torta elote; and two taquitos de pollo al pastor. (Chicken pastor tacos). She explained that the torts also had mushrooms and sour cream and is that ok. Yes, sounds great! Tacos came out first. Fantastic! I live in Arizona and am no stranger to pastor. This was top tier; probably the best I've had. Insanely tender chicken on a pan-toasted tortilla with pineapple and some sauce. Out of this world. But honestly, compared to what's coming next, I almost forgot all about those perfect tacos. Out comes the "torta". It looks like a rectangle piece of cornbread with crème and tomatoes on top. Served simply on a white flat plate, soufflé (torta) on the left, and the salad on the right. Ate the salad first. It was the low light. Fresh and tasty, but the dressing needs a bit more pop imo: maybe vinegar. I cut off a piece of the corn bread thing, being sure to include a bit of every ingredient. I'm lost for words. I don't know what to say. This is the perfect creation. This is a godly creation. I will never forget this. Now, as I mentioned, I'm from Arizona. So I love corn. I live green chiles. These are southwest flavors so maybe I'm biased. But this thing was perfect in every way as far as I'm concerned. What she said was sour cream I think was actually crème fraiche. But I don't care what you call it. Torta, sour cream, whatever! One of the best dishes I've eaten in my life. 6 stars.

Tables turn over as people finish their meals, and while you're waiting, you can relax with an ice-cold Medalla, which makes the time go by quickly. A special thank you to the staff for the excellent service and warm hospitality. The food, the atmosphere, and the friendly staff made this one of our favorite dining experiences in Old San Juan. The restaurant is absolutely adorable inside and has a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Once we were seated, the service was quick and attentive. There were four of us in our party, and we started with the pizza turnovers. They were delicious, although I do wish they had a little more filling. I ordered the tamale. While it wasn't quite to my personal taste, I could tell it was well made and I'm sure others who enjoy that style of tamale would love it. My husband had the baked chicken and really liked it. My friend ordered the salmon and said it was moist and very flavorful, and her husband had the garlic chicken, which he thoroughly enjoyed. Overall, everyone in our group was happy with their meals. Between the cozy atmosphere, friendly service, and tasty food, I would definitely recommend this restaurant if you're visiting Old San Juan.

The food was incredible. Everything we ordered was flavorful, comforting, and clearly prepared with care. My mother even commented that the arroz y habichuelas reminded her of her grandmother's cooking, which is probably one of the highest compliments a Puerto Rican restaurant can receive. The meal felt authentic, homemade, and deeply satisfying. I ordered the stuffed avocado, and it was absolutely to die for. It was one of the standout dishes of our entire trip. The staff was attentive and worked hard to keep things moving despite how busy the restaurant was. You can immediately tell that this place serves a very high volume of customers, and for good reason. The only thing that may confuse first-time visitors is the seating process. People generally line up in the hallway adjacent to the dining room and wait to be seated. At first, it can feel like organized chaos, but the staff clearly knows how to manage the crowd. Given the popularity of the restaurant and the amount of people coming through the doors, the system works. The quality of the food for the price is outstanding. This is the kind of place you visit when you want authentic Puerto Rican food that tastes like it came straight from someone's family kitchen.
