This place if God sent, quite literally. Was ecstatic finding this peurto Rico where I found it rather hard to find vegetarian options. The plantains in the house special was just fab, so flavorful. Enjoyed the whole plate, quite healthy too. The empanadas stain were the best we had in PR. I wish they were open for more hours. This place has a very chill vibe to it. Has great vegan options too. I wish I found it earlier and came here every day

special - Kofta curry, potato sabzi and rice

Govinda's claims it's Indian food but it's far from it. Lacking in flavors, undercooked tomato base (for Kofta curry) and a potato sabzi which is mashed turmeric-flavored potatoes at best. Samosas which were ... well empanadas with a filling which was a mystery to me. Do not let the association of ISKCON fool you, this place serves a version of Indian food which is not fusion but a spin-off of "Indian" vegan food. Not worth my expensive Uber ride and definitely not worth the $20 I spent on the food!

    Special plate

I would not recommend this place to anyone. The food is not great. Do not waste your time or money going to this place. There are tons of vegan/ vegetarian options in PR.

The food is fresh and delicious! If you're looking for a healthy option in the San Juan area please visit this place. The guy in the front did speak English and the daily special was really amazing. We got the plate that included a little bit of everything. Try

I had the vegan burger with broccoli potato and pumpkin. It was amazing.

We waved as we walked in to a waiter, pointed to a seemingly available picnic table, and he waved that we were good to go, so we sat right away, at 7:45p...after that more tables opened up. Drinks: 1. Pina colada - no bueno...like a coconut ice, not pina colada. 2. Passion fruit juice with fresh mint - delicious! 3. Cherry juice drink with alcohol - wife liked it, and I thought it was good. Appetizers: 1. Beef empanadas- I thought the crust overpowered the meat and onion, but daughter and wife loved it. 2. Nachos - terrible. Chips were stale and cheese/beans covering was bare, but then they gave us additional refried beans in a little cup, and straight I thought the refried beans were delicious. 3. Reviews checked out, so I took a seat near the grill/food prep area. It is in the open, they have nothing to hide here. Music is upbeat, not Salsa. I ordered the spicy crab appetizer. Delightfully spicy, yet the Guacamole tames it nicely. Great choice! I moved on to the Chicken breast in Garlic sauce. Watched as the young, but experienced chef started cooking the meat on low heat, allowing the Garlic to be absorbed, then turning up the heat to seal in the flavor. Great Technique! It was served piping hot with careful presentation. They have great burger selections, and other amazing-sounding appetizers as well. I will likely add a report on other selections this week, as I plan to return! Waiter was attentive and responsive, explained the menu items I was not familiar with. For dessert, I went with the old fashioned. Perfect cap! (I have to take mine without simple sugar). Well-made, and garnished with an orange/lime hybrid fruit. All in all, this is the place to go in Miramar!

My husband had the Americana Breakfast and thoroughly enjoyed it. The other couple with us both ordered the ham and cheese croissant and couldn't stop talking about how good it was. In fact, everyone in our group is already talking about coming back before we leave! The restaurant is very cute inside, with a welcoming atmosphere and a full bar. They also offer brunch, lunch and dinner, and outdoor seating, making it a great option any time of day. This is global techniques blended with locally sourced Puerto Rican ingredients. From the moment you walk in, you feel welcome. I was there to celebrate my birthday (a reservation is a must). I asked if I could be seated in a different section of the restaurant, and even though they were packed, they said absolutely and found me a lovely seat in the bar area. The staff is knowledgeable and attentive. I suffer from severe food allergies but wanted to experience their tasting menu. My server spoke to the chef directly and then took the time to walk me through every option. I TRULY appreciated that they did not take anything off the menu but rather told me how they could adjust for my allergies. That is very rare and so very much appreciated that they went that extra mile for me. I highly recommend the tasting menu. It's 5 courses and they give you 3 options to choose from, within each course. And for the price ($85), a great value. Everything was delicious but I highly recommend the Breadfruit Gnocchi, Rainbow Runner Crudo, and Criollo Duck Mofongo. Chefs kiss! What I also noticed was, even though they were insanely busy, they didn't make you feel rushed. The invited you to savor the experience - which I did. Next time you are in San Juan, make a reservation and go. You won't be disappointed!

Everything else was very well done. The two of us split one order of the five-course tasting menu plus an additional starter, and it ended up being a nice light meal. Had we each ordered our own tasting menu, it would have been far more food than we wanted...something we found to be a fairly common theme with portion sizes throughout Puerto Rico. The standout of the evening was the Criollo Duck Mofongo, which was absolutely exquisite and easily the best mofongo we had on our trip by far. The cocktails were tasty and unique, but a bit small for the price. This definitely isn't an every-night kind of restaurant...the prices are on the higher side. But if you're looking to splurge a little, it's a fun place to do it.

If you're staying in Condado, I'd probably just grab an Uber rather than make the walk. The service was exceptional from start to finish, and reservations are definitely recommended. This was honestly one of the calmest, most relaxing restaurant experiences I've had in a very long time. Because of that, I probably wouldn't bring kids unless they're exceptionally well behaved. It's just not that kind of restaurant, and I'd hate to be the one disrupting the atmosphere everyone else came to enjoy. The clarified espresso martini was as visually intriguing (it's completely clear) as it was delicious and smooth. The fried chicken and pork belly were both outstanding, and I'd happily order either one again. Overall, if you're looking to splurge on one memorable meal in San Juan, Vianda would be high on my list.

We were greeted, seated inside, and our order was taken with no issues. Unfortunately, the experience quickly went downhill and became one of the most unsanitary restaurant experiences I've ever witnessed. While we were waiting on our food, a man walked in with a dog. It was obvious the staff knew him because several employees immediately started interacting with the dog. The first thing I noticed was our waitress using both of her hands to pet the dog while the dog repeatedly licked her hands. In my mind, I thought surely she would go wash or sanitize her hands afterward. Instead, she proceeded directly toward the kitchen area and started preparing the condiments for our burgers without washing or sanitizing her hands at all. She then brought those condiments directly to our table. At that point, I politely told her she needed to wash her hands and that we no longer wanted the condiments. She walked away to the back, but the situation only got worse from there. The dog was approximately one foot away from our table the entire time. Personally, I do not believe dogs belong inside restaurants, especially around food preparation areas. Dogs carry germs, and anyone who owns dogs knows one of the first things they do when greeting other dogs is sniff each other's private areas. Watching staff pet the dog and immediately return to handling food and kitchen items without washing their hands was honestly disgusting. As we waited for the manager, another employee came up and allowed the dog to lick all over his hands. Right after that, he proceeded directly into the kitchen area to continue cooking food -- again, no hand washing, no sanitizer, nothing. We watched at least three more employees interact with the dog and only one person actually washed their hands afterward. When the manager finally came over, I explained exactly what had happened and asked him if he truly believed this was sanitary. His response was basically that dogs are welcome in the establishment and that he would "tell the staff to wash their hands." His attitude came across very dismissive, like he really didn't care about the seriousness of the situation. At that point, I asked for the bill for our drinks because there was absolutely no way I was going to eat food from an establishment operating like that. To make matters even worse, while we were paying, the man with the dog proceeded to take the dog toward the back near the kitchen area. Completely unacceptable and unsanitary. I understand some places are dog-friendly, but there still has to be health standards and proper hygiene when employees are handling food. Watching staff pet and get licked by a dog and then immediately touch food items and kitchen equipment without washing their hands ruined the entire experience for me. I will definitely not be returning.
