This is my first time at the El Paso location. They have sit down dining and the Las Cruces location only has take out since the pandemic. I ordered my usual: Yellow Tal Dhaka which is like a lentil stew with Indian spices. My daughter ordered Aloo Gobi, big chunks of potatoes and cauliflower stewed in tomato sauce and Indian spices. We ordered them vegan with medium heat. The portions were generous and come with jasmine rice and naan. We like to make little mounds of rice and spoon the stew on top. You make a mouthful with the rice and stew with the fresh, warm naan. It's heavenly. It honestly feels like comfort food. The medium heat was pretty spicy, but perfect. 4 stars for food and service, but the place needs work. It's very divey and the bathrooms are clean but need repair. Next time I come (I will be back) I think I'll take it to go. Despite the building, I highly recommend. read more

The food here was very good! But, hopefully if you come here you aren't in any hurry. I guess they're on "El Paso time"! The building is large and a bit dated, but that's fine because the food is all that matters. We tried: Veggie Samosa: Very good, mild. They can with a sweet sauce (very sweet: reminded me a bit too much of pancake syrup, actually), and a spicy one (green sauce with very good flavor) Butter Naan: Also very good, like regular naan it obviously with butter Garlic Naan: Incredible!! They did not skimp on the garlic and it was perfect. Chicken Curry (medium): Great flavor! Would definitely enjoy having this again. The veggies in here were so good. Coconut Chicken (medium): We weren't sure how this would be, but it is like a curry. The coconut isn't overpowering, but you can taste it a bit more when you get a bit with coconut shavings in there. Very good! Veggie Navratan Korma (medium): delicious! Though, a bit more of a mild flavor for a curry, it was really good. The medium spice on everything wasn't overwhelming (for us, anyway), just gave it a little extra kick. It was overall really good and we're happy we came across this place! When you first come in, the place looks like they know what their doing (comforting ambiance) . The service was very good and fast. The food was amazing! The curries are more on the thicker side so they taste good with naan but are not ideal with rice. The curries also have a very good spice profile! This will probably be a regular spot for me. I'm saddened to say that this place was not my favorite. There was absolutely no flavor/ spices in the food we ordered. The dishes: palak paneer, vegetable korma, chicken tikka masala all lacked flavor even the most basic- salt. The palak paneer and the vegetable korma tasted watered down as if I was tasting bland curry. The chicken from the chicken tikka masala was marinated but it was not able to save the curry. read more

We went to the international rv store and both times that we asked two different employees which Indian restaurant was the best, we we're recommended Indian palace instead of Indian hut.... If you see my palace review, I mentioned how it was good, but wouldn't return. My golden standard for good Indian food is the chicken tikka masala. If that's good, then I'll return to try something else. The thing about Indian palace is that the tikka masala was missing cream and some flavor. Indian hut had just the perfect amount of cream, a little on the sweet side but still Good enough to crave it and return the same week. The second time I got tikka masala at Indian hut, I went for the spicy instead of mild which completely blew the competition out of the water. It was delicious and flavorful. Not only that, but the samosas were delicious. At Indian palace, it felt as if they were soaked in oil over night before frying the next day. Yuk. My bf is usually wild enough to always try something new, And both times his meal at Indian hut not only smelled like heaven, but also delicious. His meal at Indian palace was okay. In conclusion, DO NOT LISTEN TO INDIAN RV STORE, They probably own Indian palace, or have friends there. INDIAN HUT wins by a long shot. Warning: Both times that we ate at Indian hut, we fell asleep An hour after the meal. Make sure you don't have plans after coming here. You will go into hibernation. This was my first time visiting India Hut. I am a huge lover of Indian food and this place hit the spot. I used to live so close I wasn't sure why I've never visited it before. The Gobi was soooo delicious - the other reviews inspired me to try them. The were a little on the spicier side. I also got the Garlic naan and the Chicken Tikka Masala. The naan was so warm and yummy. The chicken tikka masala was a good portion so I was able to bring the rest home. I also ordered the mango tea which was nice and refreshing to go along with the food. So, have you ever gone to a place for dinner and said to yourself "this place should be a buffet style kind of place." Chances are you haven't and neither have I. India Hut, as large as it is in my opinion should not be a Buffett style restaurant at least not in this particular fashion. The food was good and not too spicy as I have known from other traditional Indian restaurants. The lady that greeted us was very nice. We were able to sit where we wanted to which was nice. At the food bar everything was interesting looking. I guess being one who is not accustomed to this particular style of dining it felt a little off. We live in far east by Joe Battle, and we sometimes take the drive west for their $9.99 lunch buffet. I wanted to write a review because it's been hard to find good Indian food in EP, and also bc this place is super affordable. My dad was born and raised in India, and I grew up in Los Angeles, so we know good authentic Indian food. This place has all the main dishes you'd normally see in an Indian buffet. Thank the Indian gods!!! Finally some quality indian food worth raging about around here! Ok truth be told, i was supposed to only eat a simple salad today but since i happened to notice this place finally open, i couldnt resist! And it was so worth the last minute change lol. The butter chicken is to die for! Its the perfect blend of flavors and quality of sauce!!! I am literally shaking with happiness about it lol. They have a pretty good veggie pakora as well. And they have excellent bread options, 3 of them to be exact! They have that papad, idli, and naan. They have a very impressive arrangement of vegetarian options as part of their buffet line. And they all tasted delicious in their own way! To top it off, their salad and fruit bar is also amaze balls!! I am seriously in heaven lol. Only part thats disappointing is how small their chai tea is served. Literally the size of our teaspoon. You get one free refill at least. Yay! Lol. We ordered take out during the week. I highly recommend letting them know if you have an Indian palette so they could cater to you accordingly i.e authentic. We ordered Paneer Makhani, Navratna Korma and Yellow Dal Tadka. We requested they make the Navratna Korma medium spicy instead of mild, and so glad we did. The food was delicious. However, when they did bring us our food it was wrong and when we said it was wrong the woman who brought us our food became visibly upset. I come here mainly out of lack of choice. There is a "please wait to be seated" sign but don't wait because no one is there to receive and seated you. Just go to the cash counter so you can get their attention. The place seems to be run by the same person that is a cashier, chef, table cleaner and waitress because the person is always running around like a chicken with their head chopped off. Food is average but I guess you have to do with what they have since there isn't much of a choice. Appetizers are definitely overpriced. They charge extra for butter naan vs plain naan...I understand upcharging but come on they are not putting a dollar worth of butter on there. I don't complain mainly because even if I order the butter naan they end up bringing the plain one ‍. Also I really think they have a hearing problem past taking the right order. They music is unbearable - high pitched, loud and makes for a super annoying experience. They have a speaker that is clearly busted and a cows mooing sounds like a donkey braying ...not that either is played but you get the idea. I purposely try to get a seat farther from the speaker. Don't sit by the cash counter...that's where the bad speaker is unless you like the latest electronic tunes where they are use sounds of busted speakers. I took my EP Cooks & Foodies meetup group here, and we had a great time! After living in socal for 20 years (there's literally an area called Little India there), I have some high standards for Indian food, so I admit I was a little worried to try it since a lot of the restaurants that serve food from other countries here aren't even close to authentic for me (Italian, Filipino, Czech kolaches, etc). Luckily we were happily surprised to have wonderful food that tasted "right" and not too adapted to American tastes, while still satisfying the people in my group that had never tasted Indian food before. Whatever you do, do not judge this book by its cover! For years, I'd driven past India Hut without giving it a second thought. "What's the deal with this restaurant that appears to maybe have been a Pizza Hut at some point?" Boy, was I wrong! I've been here once for a casual dinner date with my partner, the servings were very generous and our stomachs were very happy. I ordered it for delivery tonight, and once again, everything exceeded our expectations. Our go-to's are the butter chicken and the chicken tikka masala. We've started to explore the appetizers a bit and really enjoyed both the samosas and the paneer pakora. Highly recommend the garlic naan as well.
