SO FABULOUS!!! Like they took classic recipes and upgraded them. It was a sweet little place with authentic and HIGH QUALITY flavor!! We're mostly vegans/vegetarians, and the options were so plentiful & diverse!! We LOVED the paneer tikka masala, and the Chana Palak was delicious! This place absolutely deserves 5 stars. The naan alone?? Unreal. Perfectly warm, soft, and buttery with just the right amount of crisp on the edges -- I could've eaten like five baskets of it and been happy. And the chicken tikka masala... wow. The sauce was so rich and flavorful without being too heavy, and the chicken was super tender and actually tasted fresh (not dry at all, which is rare). Every bite with the naan was literally perfect. Not to mention the amazing service, which was super efficient and really nice; everything came out quickly, and the staff was genuinely friendly! Extremely nasty people. Went in to place an order to go. No one was there. Grabbed 3 napkins because just learned my father died. Needed to step outside to cry for a moment before going back in to order. Person working came running out and said you can't take napkins. I said my father just died. He said "f"$& your father". Wow! I mean delicious WOW!!! Stopped in for lunch "take out" and did not disappoint. I ordered 2 lamb dishes- Indian curry and the Biryani rice. The lamb was cooked perfectly, not dry. The basmati rice was light & fluffy. I ordered it medium heat which was the right amount of heat. All came with a side of raita (yogurt sauce with India spices). It was thinner than I am used to yet the flavors were good! They have large selection of Vegan options too that I can't wait to tell my vegan friends on Yelp! The service was outstanding- very kind. Offered water while I waited The chef generously filled the containers to the rim and more. The location while small is nicely decorated, clean and newly remodeled with new floors and wooden tables. Best Indian food in all of Florida! Chef Khan took the BEST care of us and made us a delightful meal. We ordered the tandoori chicken which came extra hot, smoking on a cast iron, with charred onions and green peppers. The chicken was SO tender and falling off the bone. We also got the paneer tikka masala spicy and the sauce was incredibly flavorful. Highly recommend this place for your Indian food fix! 10/10 is an understatement! read more

This is the first time i've ordered from Indian Bistro, as I will usually drive to Tampa for a Tikka Masala with chicken. I wanted to find a place closer to home for take out. I put a small amount on my plate, and took a bite of the "chicken" expecting to find the tender flavorful chicken I am accused to eating. Instead I bit into the most disgusting, hard piece of something I couldn't quite identify. Fatty hard connective tissue, honestly I am not quite sure. My fiancé has a butter shop and has been cutting meat for over 30 years. I worked in his shop for years, so I am very familiar with cuts of meats and poultry. This was not edible. I threw the entire meal into the trash. I don't take writing a bad review likely however when I went to Indian Bistro's page I found that I am not the first person to have this experience. I would highly recommend that you do not order from them, and if you are really craving some Indian drive to Tampa to get it. I will because I never want to be disgusted by the food it eat nor do I want to pay for something that I wouldn't even feed to an animal. read more

This restaurant is delicious and everything is made fresh. There has been significant damage locally from recent hurricanes. Despite other businesses in this shopping area not being open, the owner has worked had to make the space inviting, clean and welcoming. One of the worst experiences. I came to this place around 4:45 pm and there were 3 workers in the restaurant, and 2 of them were eating and told me to wait 20 min, they need to finish their food . LOOOL. I've never experienced this in my life. And it's not like the place closes before the dinner, it's open all day till the evening. The food was very average. I had chicken korma, my friend had butter chicken. Both were very liquidish, and all meat was dark, tasted like raw. Garlic nan was not really garlicky. In the end waitress asked "if you leave tip, do you have cash?" Like wtf. Also, when she was serving the food, her fingers were touching the rice. I'm never visiting this place again. If I could leave zero stars I would. We had a Groupon for this place and went to go pick it up. 30 min later we got home just to realize that we had zero rice for 3 entrees. I called and they said that it was our fault for not checking the bag which was stapled and that they were dealing with an another angry lady and got confused. They refused to take any money off of our order even though we now have to drive another 30 min. They claim to only have 2 people working there so they couldn't deliver the food. I don't buy it! How do you run a restaurant with 2 people for tables, to go food, and cooking? Not possible!! Steer clear of this place!!!! read more

This review is for delivery. The only good thing I can say is everything in my order was hot. Literally, the worst Indian food I've ever had. I ordered the palak (spinach) for $19.99, the yellow lentils for $17.99, samosas, and naan for $6.99. My total $50 plus tax and a $3.99 delivery fee. (I'm not including my tip to the DoorDasher.) I thought that seemed quite expensive for vegetarian Indian fare. But I was really in the mood, so I bit the bullet. The samosas were fine. Nothing to write home about. But the two entrees each had about an inch of grease floating on the top. I drained both containers, then stirred them. The taste was truly awful. Even the naan was bland and greasy. This is our second time here and if anything, the food was better this time around! The staff was super friendly and very helpful in assisting when making a decision on what to eat. Thus far, we've had spinach paneer, chicken korma & rogan josh. All have been excellent! The desserts are delicious and make the perfect ending to the meal. We ordered dinner for two and still have lunch for tomorrow. As a previous reviewer stated, this place is small, that is why they call it a Bistro. We order to go so seating isn't an issue. I really wanted to like this place as I'm always by the beach and love good curry/Indian but my lunch of chicken tikka masala was just ok. It didn't taste like any other masala I've ever had and even though I ordered it spicy, it was bland and strangely thick and red in color, more like an Italian tomato sauce with some curry powder thrown in. It was even red in color like spaghetti sauce, not deep creamy orange like most tikka masalas I've had. At least the chicken was tender. Unfortunately, the naan was also subpar: greasy and dense, not hot or fluffy at all. The ambience was lacking in any kind of Indian feeling (a boring white box with no decor) including the strange elevator-like music playing. There was no real celebration of the culture, the colors, the music, the inspiration of India. The "blah" food sadly reflected this disconnect. St Pete Beach's newest Indian Bistro is our family's go-to favorite. The hospitality is on point and every dish we've had has been delicious! Service is fast and dining room is clean. I will not patronize again. Ordered tikka masala when they first opened - it was absolutely delicious. Tried it again a few weeks later, and it was just meh - there were large pieces of celery in it the second time. Weird. Also, it was challenging to get through on the phone. I had to call about 5 times before I actually got through to a person and not a recording that said I'd reached a voicemail that was not set up. I tried to try them a third time, but continued to get a recording about the voicemail was not set up. I finally called the Clearwater location and asked for the number to the SPB location, and they gave me the same number I'd been trying to call. When I told them this, they gave me another number. I called the second number and got a stupid recording to leave a message. I'm done with trying to patronize this location. read more
