I don't usually review place I've only had takeout from because I can't get a whole picture of the service and environment but the food from Tikka makes this an exception. This was some of the best Indian food I've had. Everything was so flavorful and tasted fresh. The spices were all balanced well so you got the full range of flavors without being overwhelmed. Tucked into a little run down shopping center-this little Indian restaurant was yet another only fair place. The samosas were nice and light with a good crust but too much cardamom. The sauces for the curries were very bland and on the sweeter side. The bullet naan was great and spicy and the pilaf was light and fluffy. I can assure you that this restaurant deserves its award of #1 Indian restaurant in Florida and I'm happy that it's within 20 minutes from me! I tried a good variety of dishes and the flavors were consistently robust and the aromas were mouth watering. I highly recommend the Eggplant Chana Chat as an appetizer. The eggplant is lightly fried and combined with the masala made it addicting. Another favorite was the tandoori chicken. The portions of chicken were generous and the spices just right, although I'll ask for more heat next time . Their fluffy naan is the best I've had. I ADORE Indian food, discovered this passion in the 1970's at beautiful Raja on 6th Ave in NYC ( they even had a sitar musician at dinner!) Love love their combinations and uses of healthy legumes, vegetables lean chicken lamb and the most exciting spices of any international cuisine. Just entering and taking a deep breath of their stewing dishes in the kitchen is exhilarating. We went last night with our wonderful Indian neighbor Nick. We started with appetizer chicken 65- - OUTSTANDING wonderfully deeply seasoned fried chicken bite size pieces you dipped in a lovely subtle yogurt sauce. He and Jon had the same sizzle platter with broccoli, vegetables and round plump tender chicken spiced differently dipped in a fragrant light tomato cream sauce. Very good. I had my favorite Saag, a spinach based thick delicately creamy sauce cooked with lamb. It was good, but needed more seasoning and was unusually rich. I am used to very lean sauces slowly simmered with a variety of legumes, vegetables and a robust use of spices. I would love to return for lunch and try out more dishes, the great Indian beverages and desserts! Our go-to restaurant in Venice is Tikka Indian Cuisine. Everything we've ever ordered is delicious. I've had excellent Gobi Manchurian (fried cauliflower) elsewhere, but Tikka's is the best of the best. Be sure to indicate your tolerance for spice. I specify medium. Chicken tikka is usually served with grilled onions. This restaurant takes it a step further with broccoli, green peppers and I think I detected mushrooms. Unlike any tikka I've had before, they provide a ramekin of mild and creamy dipping sauce. Sauces are paramount in Indian cuisine. Their kurma is top drawer, as is the sauce in my husband's lamb vindaloo. We rounded out our meal with garlic naan and an inexpensive bottle of Merlot. The staff is friendly, dishes are well-priced, and our meals are consistently good, with portions big enough for lunch the next day. read more

We ordered the chicken tandoori, shrimp tandoori, lamb kebab, chicken 65, coconut rice, biryani, cheese naan, garlic naan, rice pudding, mango cheese cake, and cardamom cake. All the dishes were so flavorful, the way they use spices is amazing. The naan was great, soft and gooey at the same time. The service is very good too. Our waiter was very polite and accommodating. The restaurant looks very nice. We waited outside for 30 minutes and it was so very worth it. I'm not sure if they would take phone reservations. The prices are not bad at all and the portions are huge. Each protein is accompanied by a bed of broccoli and onions. The coconut rice is delicious! Highly recommended! The lamb was absolutely delicious and tender. The desserts we tried were all great. Couldn't pick a favorite.... because they are all favorites. It's been 84 years...it's been almost a year of having seasoned food touch my palate, and Tikka was the best choice to reintroduce flavor and seasoning. It was a recommendation from the hotel manager. Seating was fast and was immediately served with a complementary basket of papadams and dips. The Samosas were delectable, and the garlic cheese naan tasted like we were eating a brick oven cheese pizza. The garlic was the perfect balance to counter the cheese. The butter chicken was so delicious that I did a customary happy dance. My only critique (this is more for me) is that it could have been had a little more spice for a medium level. I saw the reviews for this place before we got to this area and wanted to wait to have our first try here. So glad we did. This place was fantastic. So flavorful and just great. We started with the samosas which were seasoned spicy but not bad. Then we had the basil chicken and the kabob trio. Both excellent. The chicken was tender and yummy. We finished with the cardamom caramel cake which was to die for. The place is small but decorated nicely. The staff is super friendly and accommodating. There is plenty of parking. We got to the restaurant around 5:30 and we were able to get seated right away. We noticed it started getting busy a few minutes after. The staff was really good, very attentive. They were playing indian music which was nice. Now the food, the food was really good. We got chicken tandori, it came with vegetables and rice, it was flavorful. We also got the cheese Naan. The tikki masala was great, we got the lamb and it came with rice as well. Tikka Indian Cuisine in Venice finally answers the question for me on whether or not there is high quality Indian food in Florida. The virtually perfect reviews on various sites and their status as the second best restaurant in the entire state of Florida in 2023 definitely had me intrigued and hopeful for a good meal, and it did not disappoint. I had been resigned to ranking Indian food on a special Florida curve having had disappointing experiences across the state in highly ranked restaurants in cities including St. Augustine, Orlando, Naples, and Miami. The decor created an ambiance almost like being at a small wine bar in Italy, which I guess is appropriate for a city named Venice, but also had some Indian artwork and music playing. We wanted to try out a variety of items to get a full taste of their offerings. The meal started off with complimentary papadum which is always appreciated, but it was the plain variety that didn't have much kick to it. The mango lassi (5/5) was absolutely one of the best I've ever had, made from fresh mangoes and having just the right of flavor without being too sweet. To start off, we got the onion bhaji and chili chicken. The onion bhaji (5/5) blew me away as it was a beautiful high class presentation unlike any I'd ever seen before. The onion was coated in a flavorful batter and cooked to perfection without any excess oil. It tasted great and left me wondering how they even make it as it was a pull apart variety that intertwined without being messy. The chili chicken (4.5/5) was tender and of great quality, with just the right amount of heat without being too spicy. The chicken tikka masala (4.5/5) was prepared to perfection as our waiter made a suggestion to go with a medium to spicy heat level, which equated to about a medium spice level at restaurants you'd find in the northeast part of the country. The chicken and tomato-based gravy hit all the right flavor notes. If I had to find a point of criticism for the meal, it would be the butter naan (4/5) which was above average, but not great (still tasted good). Definitely a satisfying meal all around, and the chef knows what they're doing to serve up high quality and flavorful food. Service (5/5) was incredibly kind and friendly, and you can tell that the staff worked hard to be attentive and mindful of customers. Even on a weeknight, the place was busy with people dining in and to-go orders, yet the food was pretty quick to come out after being ordered. Coming from New Jersey where there are plenty of great Indian restaurants, I'd have to say Tikka Indian Cuisine would rank pretty high right among them and would crack my rotation of places I'd be a regular customer at...it's clearly the best Indian food I've had in the state of Florida and a place I'd love to return to and would highly recommend to others visiting Venice. read more

They gave us a good amount of the garlic cheese naan, basically was a mini pizza, it was melty and had a decent garlic flavor. Finally, best of all: the famous butter chicken, I'd heard super good reviews about this place's, so i had to check it out for myself, and boy am I glad I did, chicken was tender, and that sauce - creamy, aromatic, little sweet, notes on notes of different flavors! Today we had the: Goan - on the sweeter end, silky, and a very faint citrus flavor, and coconut And the chettinad which was easily one of THE best Indian dishes I've ever had (which is saying a lot). The coriander blended with the other spices reminded me of clove? Or cinnamon? MMMMM. So good! You honestly can't go wrong here.
