Best Indian in St. Pete!!! The staff is so kind and helpful, the decor is super cute, and plenty of parking is offered. Highly recommended!!

I actually rate Gateway To India at 3.5 stars, but I always round up. The decor is over the top: somebody has plundered their personal collection to place small, medium, and large Indian knickknacks on every surface and wall space available. The atmosphere earns them an additional star. The menus are leather bound books with reinforced laminated pages. The lunch crowd gets regular booths and tables, but the dinner crowd gets linen tablecloths and cloth napkins. If the food lived up to the atmosphere this restaurant would get 5 stars. I ordered the Kerala Shrimp appetizer ($10.99). 5 large tail-on shrimp with peppers & onions and medium hot sauce. They were tasty, but nothing special. For my entree I tried the Goat Kafriyal ($20.99). I had called ahead to make sure they had goat because I've been wanting to try it . Not sure if it's just this restaurant or the meat, but I wasn't impressed. The taste was ok, but the numerous small bones and layers of fat made it hard to get to the meat. Our server was pleasant and spent a few minutes chatting with us, but since we were the first customers through the door when they opened he has nothing better to do. Total cost $40 including tip.

This may have been my first time having Indian food in Tampa Bay? My friend steered this one because he loves Gateway to India and he ordered us the butter chicken, chicken tandoori, and some garlic naan. BIG fan of the tandoori, and I really liked the butter chicken as well. Zero complaints, I loved every minute of this dinner!

Apps: - Samosa: kinda spicy, but soooooooooooo good. So flaky and delicious like sooooo good. 10/10 would get again - Chicken '65: Loved but not my fave chicken '65. Like I def feel like they were missing some spices to make it really stand out LOL. 6/10 would not get again but good for trying for first time - Garlic naan: super good duh- can't mess up. super fresh and flaky. delicious. 10/10 - butter chicken: super good (i didn't order just tried) not my fave butter chicken 7/10. would not personally order for myself but my friend loved it - the platter: i believe it came with chicken tikka maasla, and 2 other types of chicken and shrimp. this was soooooo good I loved it 10/10. would recommend to try new flavors! The vibe: we were the only ones there but the service was so sweet and funny lol nice kid he was awesome and very attentive even tho he could have ignored us because it was close to closing. Great time. Overall, Great indian place. amazing. if i'm ever in the area im def coming back... best indian food

The service is Great, atmosphere is warm and inviting; the food is Excellent! Happy to take our good friends here tonight and broaden our palette! I'm usually not a lamb fan but our friends had the lamb Saag and his wife the shrimp Jalfrezi (It's a chicken dish but she substituted shrimp for chicken) Our chicken madras and chicken Marsala with yummy Naan bread were excellent! Man, I Love this place! Keep up the excellent quality and service. Bravo!

The food is always amazing, weather we eat at the restaurant or have it delivered to home. The restaurant is beautiful inside and service is impeccable. I highly recommend for a real taste of authentic cuisine. Thank you.

Kumar was our server. He was terrific. He even saw us outside taking a selfie and came and took a nice picture. The food was fantastic. We mentioned we needed to be in and out in an hour and they accomplished it without feeling rushed. Getting in to the parking lot can be daunting with heavy traffic. It was well worth it.

Hands down THE BEST INDIAN FOOD! I ordered from Ubereats and Gateway To India did not disappoint. Everything we ordered was perfectly spiced and tasteful. Every time I'm craving Indian, I always will order from here. What I ordered: - Chicken Tikka Masala - Lamb Korma - Garlic Naan - Banarsi Samosa

For sashimi: Tilapia, Escola, Smoked Salmon, Spicy Tuna, Maduro, and Sake. And since it's AYCE, you'll never leave hungry!

I think our friends ate like 8 sushi rolls each... INSANE. That said, all of their sushi looked incredible and they come here all the time because they love it all, especially the out of this world roll and the perpetual love roll, which I think they got like 8 of between the 3 of them. They even finished off with dessert like fried cheesecake and fried Oreos. I had unagi sushi, ahi tuna nigiri, a yellowtail roll, and some miso soup. I thought the fish was great! Definitely would come back. I wish I tried one of the specialty rolls but wasn't hungry enough this time. Keep in mind if you're at a table with AYCE but you're not participating, you can't munch off their food. The value for the AYCE price is pretty fantastic though, if you're planning to order 3+ rolls or 2 and a couple apps!

Food smashed into the dirty carpet, menus smeared with grease, slimy handprints on every glass and plastic surface. Is the place cleaned by toddlers?! If the missed health standards aren't enough to deter people (wish I'd read those beforehand), the layers of grime should be a red flag. If that's what customers are seeing, imagine the kitchen. Also, the food was bad. Like everything. Grisly gnarled chicken, inedible, dry cornbread, and nasty mac and cheese. I didn't try anything else because it was so gross. My family members also hated their food. Staff waited until the last minute to refill things as it seemed like someone is opting to cut some sharp corners. Again, I felt bad for everyone working there. It seemed busy enough to turn a profit, yet there was something depressing about the vibe. I came here last year with my dad, and it wasn't like this, so it was disappointing. We were relieved to get out for under $100, but it was just nightmare fuel. Not worth it. Owners need to be more involved in operations here.

As I'm not a particular fan of Chinese food, my lovely bride is my specialist on the genre. The ambiance: Chinese restaurants are known for their lack of ambiance. ABC (the name still slays me) wasn't anything special but they did have plenty of Chinese News Years celebration material everywhere which did brighten up the place. The food: We ordered the hot and sour soup which was spot on. My bride thinks most make it too spicy. From there we ordered the fried dumplings which were deep fried. They were good but we prefer them pan fried.on to the General Tause Chicken which was excellent. On to fried Tofu which was also made to perfection. Our last additions was the Chinese Broccoli which I had never had but was surprisingly good. Finally, we had the fried rose which was ok but not stand out. The service: Our server was super and served us with a smile and made sure she recommended several dishes that proved to be winners. The bottom line: As with all my reviews, my "customers so what" , would I come back? In my brides case... absolutely and I as a faithful husband would be tagging along
