I don't know why I didn't visit Indian Creek Plaza last year, but I just went last night, and I have to tell you it really lifted my spirits & put me in the holiday mood! I had no idea how many lights they put up, and hadn't seen their new ice skating rink either. The downtown is just brimming with holiday cheer, colorful lights, and ice skating, even music. I guess I didn't fully understand the sheer volume of Christmas lights they put up, but it's enough that you have to walk all the way around and across the river to see it all! It's incredible, and they have some really cool "features" that I wasn't expecting to see. Such fun! It was raining when we went, but the combination of the people, places, lights, excitement, and the magic of all almost made the rain delightful. :) The whole experience brought me so much joy. I've been so stressed lately with all the holiday "stuff" that needs to be done that I forgot what the season was about. My visit to Indian Creek Plaza really brought things into focus for me...not just because of the lights, but because the lights serve as a reminder of the joy, the people, love, and time together is what really makes the holidays so special. Go visit. Take a friend, or your family, or both. Make an evening of it. Went to the Taste of Caldwell and paid over $50 per person to eat tiny appetizers, and small samples of wine. A few items were tasty but most was forgettable and did not highlight the businesses they were trying to promote. Not worth the time, gas and the money spent for this event. For two people we spent over $100 and left hungry and had to go to Indian Creek for dinner. read more

We rented out a fire pit for my daughter's birthday! Great spot, great value, kids had a blast! My only issue was that I kept having to ask people to leave as this was a reserved spot but everyone was nice and understanding. read more

Reserved our tickets for a 3:30 session of ice skating, and when we got there we were told we couldn't ice skate because they forgot to freeze the ice? So then we had to either rebook for later that day but they weren't sure if it would be ready or come back a different day. Very frustrating. Luckily we told them that we would try the next available time and we were able to ice skate then. read more

We ate lunch at a nearby restaurant and checked out the plaza during the day. Plenty of people walking around enjoying the stores around the Plaza. The seasonal ice rink was busy with kids and adults skating and playing! The ice rink had an outside area for skating and an inner area that was separate from the skating area for smaller, less experienced skaters. It was cold that night, but we were assured that seeing the plaza at night would be worth spending time in the cold. WOW! Amazing lights and displays! Indian Creek Plaza has a splash pad, story time and farmers markets in the warm months, as well as concerts and special events, all throughout the summer. They also set up an ice-skating rink in the late fall/throughout winter. Unfortunately, there is not always convenient parking for larger events but there are options nearby. This is a great place to take your family and experience what Caldwell has to offer. They have really fixed it up in the last few years and it's a nice place to hang out. We brought 40 youth to skate and I couldn't believe how friendly, helpful and quick the staff was getting everyone theirs skates. We loved the fun atmosphere and we can't wait to come again! I will highly recommend this place to all my friends!! read more

I love Indian Creek especially at the holidays. It's so beautiful. We spent time here in the summer too and unloved that they have corn hole, ping pong, splash pads, and ample seating! In the winter the ice ribbon is beautiful. I love the fire pits and heaters. You can get dinner, dessert, coffee, wine, and souvenirs all at once. The lights are fantastic if you go! read more

Ok so I literally neverrrr go to Caldwell. Never see any reason to. Also with Boise traffic these days, it could take me an hour to get them some times. HELL NAH! I loathe traffic. I hate being stuck in it and I curse anything and everything until I reach my destination hahah! I teach a Pound Fitness class, I go to Pound classes, Pound fundraisers etc. Past couple years, the weirdos who are in my Pound squad, the ones who live in Caldwell will hold an event at the beginning or end of Summer. Now because I love these two girls, I reluctantly agreed to go to Caldwell lol. I just left earlier than planned so I could avoid a build up of annoying ass traffic lol. The drive home is always a beautiful one tho lol. So they hold the events at Indian Creek Plaza. Prior to Pound I think I had gone to Caldwell maybe once? Twice at most. I live in NW Boise. Everything I need is here or Meridian/Eagle. I was glad to go tho. We Pound peeps try to support each other as much as possible. I love my Pound folk. Great people, all of them. Now again, prior to these event, Caldwell was never really on my radar. So I don't know what the Plaza looked like before the major downtown renovations. I hear tho it was pretty ghetto, rundown, etc etc. Whatever the case, what they've done to turn it around is absolutely incredible. It's very inviting, great vibes from on the plaza. Tons of restaurants, bars around, splash pads so when you can't or don't wanna deal with your annoying kids, you send them to the splash pad hahaha! It's a great place for everyone...even bitter old people like myself hahaha! I'm not really THAT bitter, I just hate driving lol. Seriously tho, jokes aside, this place is fantastic. It's actually made me see Caldwell in a very positive light after seeing it in such a bad light and hearing endlessly bad things about it. Caldwell is homey. Cute little city, cute little homes, nice downtown area. The Plaza is a big perk to going there and I'm guessing it's probably their biggest attraction. They have the Christmas lights too at Christmas! Can't beat a great Christmas light display! Not much else can be said. Anyone who has been here knows that it's a great time. Perhaps the most amazing light display in the heart of the Treasure Valley! If you are searching for a place to see Christmas lights and you don't want to spend a dime (unless you want to invest in a hot beverage) this is the place to go! The light displays are exciting and every single year they seem to top the prior year's display. Moreover, there is ice skating and carriage rides available within the park for the holidays. Definitely a wonderful experience, an experience I love taking my kids to enjoy. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone living and/or visiting the state of Idaho! read more

Great place to go in winter. I go there with grand kids. One is improving his skating and the other getting more confident on skates. Place is so nice and accommodating. I can always park pretty close. Small shops around skating provide food and refreshents. Winter Wonderland lights do add to festive atmosphere. One of the kid do take skating lessons - istructor is super, fun and all around great :) . Even though we have to drive 30 min from Meridian it is well worst it. read more

The lights are awesome during Christmas (like End of November to Beginning of January). It is a great family event to add to your to do list that is both free and fun for everyone. There are some restaurants and booths selling hot chocolate/ apple cider. Those are a little one the pricey side, but totally worth it, otherwise bring your own and enjoy the views. This year we got to do the ice skating. Booking online was super easy and the line was much better than the "order now" line. We only were 2 or 3 parties away when we first got in our line, and luckily we booked online because they said they were sold out for about 2 hours. I have 3 girls (11,7, & 4). My 4 year old decided not to join me, but the 11 year old and my 7 year old (who have never skated before). Had a good time trying to learn to skate. They have a little area with buckets/ assistive devices for the little ones (or the older ones that are trying to get the hang of it.) Overall, I would totally do it again! Second year we go and enjoy Christmas winter wonderland lights and this time we added a bourse carriage ride with my girls friends. The joy from their little faces enjoying each other in that experience was priceless. Such a beautiful tradition to do with little kids and make some lovely long lasting experience memories. Several months ago my husband, some friends and myself had dinner at indian steakhouse. All of us were very disappointed in our dinners!!! So today some friends and myself thought We would give the restaurant another try. Three of us ordered hot tea and when the waitress brought our tea to the table she said "only had two mugs so had to put third hot water is a water glass!" We asked her where are all the mugs? she said "the gentleman at the bar had one and then these two". We were flabbergasted that this huge restaurant only had three mugs. So we called the manager to the table as the glass that the hot water was it was hot and hard for my fiend to drink it. The managers response to the situation was "we are 40 people short and training new people all the time and they must of misplaced the mugs". We felt she was very rude. She surely didn't want to be bothered!!!! I will say the fpod was good, so cudos to the cook. When we went to pay the waitress brought one of the woman at our table her change- tag was $12.71 and she only gave her dollars back - no coins. So my friend said "where is my change?" Waitress replied-" oh, you want your change?" it was completely principle- not the 29 cents. I know I will not return to this restaurant- they do not get a third chance. In the winter they turn it into an ice skating rink in downtown Caldwell. It's affordable for the entire family to go ice skating then look at the Christmas lights they put up all around town.
