Waiters were so attentive, and the ambiance was amazing , music playing in the background,really added to the whole evenings atmosphere.. Now onto the food, everyone was sharing their plates as there was enough for sharing. The rich flavor, the aromas, and the sauces, my wife loved the tamarind sauce and when we were done , one of the waiters gave her a sauce to take home with the leftovers. Located in a strip mall with other good food spots on 34th, just off Archer, this Indian restaurant earns its spot there. They have a lunch buffet and that's what we were there for. It was pretty busy but never crowded. Service was friendly and around just the right amount. The food was tasty and a good variety of options. Have been eating here since 2015 at least 3-4 times a month. Recently ordered Matar Paneer Medium Hot was a pale yellow when normally it's more orange. The sauce had no flavor and no spiciness. We got: lamb roganjosh, lamb curry, chicken tikka malasia, butter chicken, palak paneer, and vegetable korma The favorites were the lamb roganjosh, palak paneer, and butter chicken. We also got garlic naan and coconut naan and both were great The server was super nice and helpful, helped us choose some of the entrees to try new things and was very attentive even bringing some extra rice for the leftover sauces. Great place in the corner of a strip mall! We decided to pop in for lunch and we found out it had a lunch buffet (score!). The lunch buffet is $19.99 per person which is pretty good for the variety. The staff greeted us and we grabbed a table. They immediately brought waters and said we could go get some food from the buffet. I got an assortment of dips, chicken tikka, naan and rice. My husband and I both like Indian food. This is our first time at Indian Cuisine. We got the vegie platter for appetizer, chicken tikka mandas and lamb rogan josh. The vegie platter was delicious. Wish there was more sauce. My chicken tikka mandras was just the right level of spicy (medium, as recommended by our waiter). The sauce was creamy. My only complaint is that the chicken was not marinated, only coated with the sauce but white and blend on the inside. My husband got the lamb dish with "hot" spice level. They don't joke around with the spice level. He drank his water and then mine. The homemade mango lassi was very smooth and rich. One of the best I've had. We have made our own homemade mango lassi, which tasted great but was more chunky than theirs. Will likely visit again during buffet hours. :) read more

I had tried a few other Indian restaurants in Gainesville while I patiently waited for the lunch buffet at Indian Cuisine to reopen following a period of closure during COVID-19. Once I heard it was back I immediately went to check it out with a friend for Sunday lunch. Now I'm not the most well-versed when it comes to Indian food, so I loved having all the buffet options to choose from. I think I tried a little bit of everything. If you can't handle spicy, beware because the spicy dishes are very much so. Our waiter was attentive when it came to refilling waters and swapping out our finished plates. Overall the buffet was reasonably priced for all-you-can-eat. I enjoyed my first experience at Indian Cuisine and I look forward to going back to the lunch buffet again soon. read more

Good, if you want a reasonably-priced decent buffet. There are a good number of selections including chutney, samosas, garbanzo salad, desserts, and multiple curry dishes. All around the food is just ok. There are a few standout dishes, including the Chicken vindaloo which was the most flavorful and the spiciest. The lentil curry was unmemorable and quite bland. The naan was nice and hot and soft. I also really enjoyed the onion chutney, samosas, and the chickpea salad. The paneer dish would have been a standout but there were only a few pieces of paneer (maybe folks had picked them all out by the time I got there) I love goulab and there's was pretty good. I put it with the rice pudding dish which was extremely soupy, though. The service here is also remarkably cold. It was a bit of a turn off and generally I would have just left, but I wanted to try the food. The bathrooms and the dining room are clean, which is def a plus. I'm new to Indian Food. I was a bit weary of it since I was unfamiliar with a lot of the menu items. However the staff will clue you in on popular items and will let you know if the spice level will be too much. As a matter of fact the staff is one of my favorite parts I've come back 4 times within the last month or so and they recognize us and treat us well. The naan is my favorite garlic especially! Chicken Tikamasala is also a big hit for me. I think if your new to Indian Food try those items first and as you get familiar with the taste of it all you'll want to venture out more and more like me. I've come back many times and I'll continue to come back as long as they keep making me happy. The decor and inside is fairly standard which is the only thing holding me back from rating it higher, but new to Indian Food people don't fear the spice is just right and the food will keep your belly stuffed! read more

We went here on Sunday for lunch. I've been sad that there's still no buffet. Got the non-veg Thali for $15.99. It came with butter chicken, chicken vindaloo, and chicken korma, padpadums, a samosa, dal, rice, a basket of naan, and a little tasting of rice pudding. The pictures of the plates look really small on the website. But actually the Thali plate is a decent size. I was surprised. Everything was delicious and the bowl of rice pudding was the perfect ending. This is not the buffet, but it satisfied my craving for variety. I took away one star for lunch because the curries are not offered individually as entrees. Lunch menu is appetizers, the thali platters, tandoor, and desserts. So If you wanted butter chicken or biryani as your entree I would assume that you would have to pay the dinner price or they don't serve it at all until dinner. read more

So last week we decided to have some Indian food. I have been to Indian Cuisine a number of times before, so it is interesting to me that I have never written a review of the place. So, with that in mind, let's get cracking here... The restaurant is located in a strip mall with a number of other ethnic restaurants and food stores. What is odd about the place is that they have severely tinted the windows, so when you are walking towards the place it can look like it is closed when it is not. I am still not sure what the rationale is for the heavy tinting, particularly since the windows face towards the East and are therefore not subjected to the sunset blinding people in the evening. When you walk inside, you are greeted by immaculately dressed wait staff, and then escorted to a seat. The interior is as oddly decorated as the exterior... you get linen napkins in your place setting, but then the table is topped with a sheet of glass atop a cheap plastic tablecloth. The walls are adorned with pictures of various dishes available at the restaurant as if you were in a fast food restaurant. Yet the wait staff are dressed in coat and tie, and treat you in the cordial manner of a restaurant whose dishes cost significantly more than what you are charged here. The restaurant is an odd clash of ideas and, I think, culture. Anyway, on to the food. For an appetizer I ordered the lamb samosas, and for my main I orderd the chicken madras. I have ordered the vindaloo before, but I have found that I am not a huge fan of vindaloo due to the monotony of flavor it holds. The madras was quite wonderful though, and accompanied with rice it was perfect. The samosas were good, but I feel like they needed some sort of binding agent for the meat inside, as the lamb filling was very crumbly and sort of got everywhere. The chutney served with the samosas was nice, however. One other item I ordered with the meal was some coconut naan, which was perfect for eating some of the madras with. The food here is quite good, though I feel there is room for some improvement. Getting over the quirkiness of the interior decorating is perhaps another small hurdle for some. However, I will certainly be returning for a meal in the future. read more

I've been here 4+ times and they are always so consistent and bursting with flavor! The staff is extremely friendly and even warn you when order something that may be way too spicy for you! It's a decent size area with ample seating for both small and large parties! And the music in the background has you immersed in the culture. It's always clean and I'm always excited to try something new. I recommend the chicken tikka masala and work your way through the menu if this is your first time eating Indian food. It's so authentic and I feel like I definitely have my money's worth with the amount of meat and rice I get. And a must is a side of garlic naan. You won't be disappointed! read more

AMAZING food! We consider ourselves Indian food connoisseurs and this ranks in the top 10 that we've had, including in London. We like our dishes VERY spicy and let them know. This is the only place we've been that actually made it to our preferred inferno-level. They have all levels- so I don't think you need to worry if you like it mild. The best part was that the underlying spices and flavors were unique and well-balanced. 100/10 recommend! We had the chicken Briyani (THE BEST), butter chicken, lamb curry, chicken Lolly pops, and chili naan. I can't believe I didn't take any pictures! I would definitely recommend the buffet here! Make sure you come on a weekend if you want the chicken mahkni and vindaloo, as they did not have it when I went on a weekday. I came here on a Sunday for the lunch buffet and there was a small line of 5-6 people even before it opened, but we were happy to beat the rush of people who came in after 12:30 or so. I would say the Sunday line up of food was the best I've had here. The servers were quick to refill our cups and clear our plates as well! The only thing I wish is that they would serve the naan fresh to order as they do in some other restaurants, but I guess we can't get everything we want in life read more

The service was terrible. The waiter was incredibly rude and told us to order quickly. When we got our food, the rogan josh was oily and the butter naan was dry and stale. When I asked the waiter if this was butter naan or plain, he asked me to press the naan and then proceeded to mock me to the other wait staff. It was a disappointing experience. When I got the bill, another waiter told me that they had charged me the wrong amount and told me it would be reversed (and it was an honest mistake) which is fine with me. I did express to another waiter that I was thoroughly disappointed in the way I was treated and the original waiter who was rude to me then proceeded to come close to me and try to intimidate me. I told them that they need to be more polite with their patrons as they was not great behavior. However, I would have tolerated the surly waiters if the food was decent. The lamb was chewy and tasted like it was on the verge of being stale. The butter naan was dry and tasted like store bought frozen naan. Also, the rice tasted like it was stale. Overall, the food and the service were abysmal and I do not wish to recommend this place to anyone who knows Indian food. read more

Service: 2/5 I came here for dinner (al la carte style) and I wasn't too impressed with the service. We had a some late guests in our party and was not able to place their order until 20 minutes after they were seated. Waiter did not check in with our table very much and was not not consistent with refilling our drinks. Price: 3/5 Price of food is a bit more than I would like to pay for its portions al la carte, but I can imagine its worth if you came for the lunch buffet. Food: 4/5 The flavors of the food were flavorful and not too spicy at the medium level. Huge portions of rice are given for the table to share, although I would argue that our table of 8 people would have liked more than two plates of rice. The garlic naan was good, but I think a little too greasy for my taste. Overall, I enjoyed eating here with my friends, but I think I will only come back for the lunch buffet. read more

We ordered veggie samosas, chicken tikka masala, goat curry, and two orders of naan, one garlic and one buttered. To finish, we had the mango yogurt drink. I don't remember exactly what it was called. Everything was delicious! Portions were large. I have never eaten goat that was as tender as theirs. We ordered the dishes medium and are very glad we did as they were comfortably spicy. I feel like I would have not liked them nearly as much if they were mild. Our service was great. We went for Saturday lunch and were one of only two groups in the restaurant so that may be why it was so quick and attentive. All in all we will be back. FOOD (4/5): I have only come to Indian Cuisine for the lunch buffet which is approximately $12 Monday through Thursday and $13 on Friday/Saturday. The buffet here is definitely the best in town as far as Indian goes.
