Great Indian grocery store! They have a wide range of authentic Indian products, from spices and snacks to fresh produce and frozen items. The store is well maintained, you will find most of the products here. They also have a section where you can order food (check attached photos). You can order snacks, chaat, parathas, vegetable/paneer curries etc. I have tried few food items, they were good, not great. The only problem is lack of space, especially during COVID. The employee at the store counter does not know how to talk to customers. When I asked him a genuine query about non-listed prices, he replied with "No. You are fu**ing stupid bro. I don't care." Extremely unfortunate since the store seemed to be good. I recommend the other Indian grocery store nearby. I will never visit this store again. I also noticed lots of items nearing expiry date. One of the worst stores , they charge what ever they like and behaviour is pathetic and quality is worst . They also have a special way of billing " NON TAXABLE ITEM"unique of this store . I had to try this place out once I read the reviews of it. I wouldn't call their kitchen a closet but it is definitely tucked away at the back of the store. The menu wasn't the most helpful for anyone that doesn't eat Indian regularly. And the cook was a bit standoffish but once you start communicating with him, he can be helpful. I ordered a ragda samosa ($6.50). It was a highly intense combination of flavors. The dish had a lot of chickpeas with diced onions, a heavy amount cliantro and probably tamarind. Thus, it was sweet and spicy with a heavy presence of cilantro. But the samosa was awesome. It'll be a lot of fun exploring their menu as I intend to make this my go to takeout place. There are no tables or chairs so strictly takeout but absolutely worth it to try. You can shop the food store while waiting for your food but the prices weren't nearly as awesome as the takeout kitchen. Although I did get some chana masala and a big carton of mango ice cream, which was pretty awesome. read more

If you haven't eaten the food here yet... why not! . I discovered this gem one day when looking for some kulfi (Indian ice cream). I grabbed some lunch from the "hole in the wall" in the back area of the store. I was very pleasantly surprised at how tasty the food was, the portion size for each dish is very generous and they had no problems with customizing. The Choley (chick pea dish) is out of this world as were all the dishes I have tried from there. Samosas were great and desserts too. I've made special trips to this "hole in the wall" food place because it's so good and you are not being mugged from the cost perspective. I would much rather go to this place than any restaurant, I tried Dosa Palace in Ashland which is a South Indian restaurant and it sucks... the food here is worth the travel from other towns. Staff are cheerful and helpful about describing the dishes and also customizing the level of spices Thanks. Great food, inexpensive and definitely worth a try if you have not been there. read more

Checked out this little Indian grocery store in Framingham after dinner. Had a small selection of Indian snacks, various different herbs and a lot of food sauce/curry mixes. The place has gone downhill a bit. Seems to be carrying more frozen foods, snacks and box mixes. And less fresh produce or basic raw ingredients. Limited rice selection. Could only get a 10 lb bag. They only had 1 bag of black dal - which had a hole in it. And small selection of other legume. No naan. Produce scattered all over the floor. And the same typical customers who think they can push me around because I'm a white girl. (But that isn't the stores fault. These women are everywhere). Talk about a hole in the wall, this is the kind of food you get when you are out on the streets in India. Walk up to the back and order, then like the rest of the reviews tell you, go about your shopping. Then pick up your food on the way out. They have a good selection from Parathas to what we get everytime we go there...RAGDA PATTI's ( warm potato cakes dunked in lentil like soup, topped with tamarind sauce, freshly diced onions and chaat masala). Grab a nice cold mango juice out the cooler and if you haven't tried it yet, grab a guava instead. Dessert is at the cooler by the cash register. The options are pretty limited so for a safe try get the laddu or the sugar coated dunked extremely sweet Jalebi. This store used to be extremely disorganized, and now is a great place to shop and at, and grab a quick bite. The street food, minus the un-hygenic conditions, makes it a great place to grab a piece of home. INSIDERS TIP: Please tip the cooks at the back, in their makeshift tip jar, when you order. And make it a deal to show them that you are putting it in there, the food comes out fast and perfect ... :D read more

Basically how this place works is that if you know that it exists, and know a little bit about Indian food, you go up back to the back of the grocery store and order what you want. The guy makes it for you right then and there as you watch, or go about buying way more Indian spices and food than you need. They typically have a couple fresh "curries of the day," and bread ready to go around dinner time, but what I really love about this place, much like Gizmo G., is that they offer a range of chaats -- this is Indian style street food -- which you pretty much nevers see on a sit-down restaurant menu. If you've never had this kind of food before, try the bhel puri or wada-pav -- yum yum yum! The grocery store is pretty well stocked for a basic Indian kitchen -- and they carry fresh okra for 1/2 as much as Whole Foods pretty frequently too! read more

I didn't find the prices very competitive here for groceries. In the back of the store, you can order food, except I found the person behind the counter to be very rude. I asked how much an entrée would be if I didn't get the rice, and the person told me it would be the exact same price which didn't make sense to me. I got one small container of curry for $10 which seemed expensive especially since I can get more variety and more food at Guru's in Somerville. I won't be going there again. read more

I had very bad experience here. We bought some Indian sweets in the frozen section, thought it should be safe to buy. Only find out that there was a dead fly in one of the sweets. It may not be the full responsibility of the store, but they should be careful when they stock foods or their suppliers. I will not go back again and not recommended. I learned of this hidden gem from a friend well versed in Indian food. I had little idea what I wanted when I arrived and the man cooking was very nice and helpful once he realized my enthusiastic admiration of Indian food and culture is real, despite my depth of education. He asked me a few questions about what I liked and then made me a fabulous saag paneer with just the right amount of medium spice, great rice w/veggies, perfect samosas, and when I asked what the triangle sandwich looking things were in front of me inside the counter he mentioned a few ingredients including mint inside and I ordered two. A very compact grocery store that manages to stock a lot more than one could ever imagine in such a small space. All the basics are available here and with variety as well, including a small kitchen operation at the back of the store for take-out. Pre-COVID, this was my go-to local Indian market; but I now only go during off-peak hours because the space doesn't really permit social distancing and cross ventilation. Not everyone here is fluent in English so it can be difficult to get help locating some things, especially asafoetida (it's behind the counter). The variety is great for such a small place and the prices seem to be very good. It is frustrating that they have a $10 minimum for a credit or debit card though for when I just want to grab a couple things as I have to add more stuff to my order just to check out. Now I go there less frequently and stock up on more all at once. I've never gotten takeout here so I can't speak to the quality of the food, but it does smell excellent. Nice grocery store on convenient location on Route-9. I ordered samosas and they were about to refry cooked samoas in oil. I requested them to cook & give fresh samosas which were also ready. They mentioned uncooked samosas will take 15 minutes to cook. And they gave us the option to choose which one we wanted based on our Wait-time. Very friendly too. read more

When I ordered for the "curb side" pick up over the phone, the owner asked me to pay cash. I told them we are trying to be contact less so would rather pay with Credit card just like in the past few times. He said in order to pay with credit card I have to come inside the store......in a way telling me that I have to pay cash for the grocery. I think it is a scam to save sales tax and using the pandemic situation in pushing people to participate in this scam. I will not do business with these kind of scammers. read more

This place doesn't know how to run a business. There place is always dirty. Probably don't meet the health regulations if to be inspected. The owners child is rude has an attitude like he is running a multi million dollar business. No respect he told me he would not let me come back here and then I said I don't come often then decided not give me cooked food. Gave him two choice either I'll pay or throw it in the trash he said he will throw it in the trash. These owners don't understand to put a kid behind the register this what happens. The place is good, has a good selection of indian items to buy. But billing is where the forgery is done. Whenever the lady is billing, she forges a couple of extra items into the bill. The store is quite small to check the bill, so I usually come home and check the bill and she had charged me extra. This has happened to few other of my friends as well. This place rips you off completely. Being an Indian living in Framingham, we used to go to this place for groceries. But not any more. We now go all the way to Waltham to buy groceries because every shopping visit would save us atleast 20$. These guys have taken adavantage of working Indian professionals who can pay more amidst of their busy lives. But believe me. You can save a lot if you add little more patience. The kitchen carries takeout menu. Have you ever seen a small potato bhajji (Balls stuffed with potato curry) for 1.25$? Paratha for 2.50$, Any curry for 8$. Isn't that a rip off? Samosas squashed into spicy lentil soup, Pav Bhaji - spicy potatoes and peas served with bread; Dahi Papri & Dahi Bhalle - Refreshing salad of rice puffs, fried dough and chickpeas topped with cultured yogurt, mint sauce and tamarind sauce. The prices are fairly competitive, but what really sets this place apart is the local "mom and pop" shop type feel. The family that owns this place is always very nice and helpful. We stopped in to order a bit of takeout. We found the kitchen guy to be very pushy, he kept trying to get us to order larger sizes and really pushed us to order a potato dish we did not want. Prices are not listed for all items, so we were shocked to see how much some of the items were when we went to the cash register. We paid over $52 for pakoras, gobi, chick pea masala with a side of basmati rice and those potatoes! We got home to find that the rice and the gobi were both cold, taken from the refrigerator! Who gives cold rice with a hot dish? All the food was very spicy, which is fine, but it was also insanely salty. We could barely eat any. If we thought they would be receptive, we would have returned the food and asked for a refund, but it's not that kind of place. We try to support small businesses, so we are disappointed that this was such a negative experience. read more

This is my go to Grocer for my desi groceries only when I am too tired of making the drive to Waltham to Patel Brothers. But the little "deli" at the back of the store (literally more like a walk in closet deli) is not bad for a quick fix of North Indian chaat items. I love this place because I come here to buy kurkures(usually four bags). I am just addicted to kurkures. They charge $1.49 per bag(it is kind of expensive to me but I am still willing to buy them). I do get some spices, and basmati rice. In the summer, the store is really hot. The store is kind of small and the family that owns it is really nice. read more

I was happy to find this place while doing some grocery shopping the other day. Although a small space they pack in quite a good amount of food at very affordable prices. They have a huge selections of beans, rice, lentils, spices, and much of the normal stuff you'd expect from an Indian grocery store. Bonus is they also have some produce, and a counter in the back that serves delicious cheap food! Definitely worth checking out if you are in the area. read more

A major criticism in the reviews is the cost; although I'm sure we aren't aware of what these foods typically cost, I'm totally fine with paying a slightly more to support a mom and pop grocery store, especially when I can't find the items elsewhere.
