I come here often for the Thursday night dosa buffet with some friends and it's always a nice time. The podi dosa is my go-to and Peppers does it well. My favorite place for podi dosa is 1947 in Norwood but this is my second spot after Jaya's closed down in East Providence. A lot of the New England restaurants really struggle with making good dosa. The chaat buffet items rotate weekly so it's always fun to try the new things. Some items are real winners, some are just ok. There is sometimes a consistency issue week to week with the dishes but overall positive experience and we like it enough to keep coming back frequently. I recommend to all South Indian food lovers. read more

The avakai idli appetizer was extremely to the point of being inedible. They were happy to fix it (was yummy the second time!) and also to comp us 1 beverage each (there were 3 of us). Dosa's were yummy but didn't have that crispy factor. Accompanying Sambar and sauces were fire though and tasted very authentic. Third person in our party got biryani which took like 30 min to come out.. they should probably give a heads up regarding this when someone is ordering. Double check your receipt when here they overcharged us by 2$ for the biryani! Overall would return for dosas! Lassi was good too. read more

We did a pick up order this evening. We arrived at our pick up time and were told it would be ready in 5 minutes. The food didn't come out until 35 minutes later with no apology or explanation as to why it took so long beyond our designated pick up time. The front reception person came across as disinterested and unfriendly. Since I was purchasing food for people who had never tried Indian food before, I asked for mild everything. The food ended up being so hot (spice, not temperature) that the people I was buying for will never eat Indian food again, which is so disappointing. Even my son who loves Indian food normally, could barely eat his food even with extra rice and raita on the food. We ordered some of the basics...butter chicken (ok, but not impressive), Saag Paneer (again ok, but much soupier and less flavorful than I am used to), Vegetable Korma (so spicy hot that I couldn't taste any of the vegetables or normal sweetness), Dal Tadka (so salty and spicy that it was almost inedible) and Idli (was good, but didn't travel well...by the time we got home the idli was soggy). All in all, it may have been one of my worst experiences with Indian food and I am so surprised given all of the positive reviews. We stumbled upon this Indian restaurant in Northborough, and it might be one of the best culinary surprises we've had in a long time. If you love authentic South Indian flavors (or want to experience them done right), this place absolutely delivers. We started with the Idli--soft, fluffy, and served with warm sambar and two types of chutney. It was the perfect light beginning that instantly transported us to a traditional South Indian breakfast table. Next came the Ghee Dosa, Masala Dosa, and Rava Masala Dosa--each one crisped to perfection, golden, and full of flavor. The ghee dosa had that rich, buttery aroma; the masala dosa came with a flavorful, well-spiced potato filling; and the rava dosa, with its crispy edges and hint of crunch, was a textural dream. The accompanying chutneys and sambar were fresh and delicious--clearly made in-house. We decided to explore beyond dosas and ordered the Schezwan Egg Fried Rice--and wow! It was spicy, aromatic, and had just the right Indo-Chinese kick. The eggs were well-cooked and the rice had that perfect wok-tossed flavor with a Schezwan sauce that wasn't overpowering but had depth. The Veg Dum Biryani was another highlight. Served in a generous portion, it was fragrant, colorful, and packed with flavor. The rice was perfectly cooked, the vegetables tender, and it came with raita that complemented the spices beautifully. For dessert, we shared Gulab Jamun and Ras Malai. The gulab jamun was warm, soft, and soaked just right in rose-scented syrup--not overly sweet. The ras malai was chilled and creamy, with hints of saffron and cardamom. A perfect sweet ending. Service was fast, friendly, and attentive throughout. The staff clearly care about the food and the customer experience. The restaurant was clean, inviting, and had a nice blend of modern design with Indian cultural touches. If you're anywhere near Northborough and craving South Indian dishes or flavorful Indo-Chinese options, this place is a must-visit. Great portions, authentic taste, and unbeatable value. Peppers Indian Cuisine opened a few weeks ago at Northborough Crossing, across the parking lot from Wegmans. This Indian restaurant offers full service dining, takeout, and delivery (third party apps). The dining room has dim lighting and seems like a nice place to have a sitdown dinner. After doing food shopping nearby, I was hungry and decided to order takeout dinner online through Toast (no fees) at Peppers Indian Cuisine. They were offering Christmas & New Year specials including holiday special combo dinners for 1-2 people, family meals and party packs. I also noticed other Indian restaurants in Metrowest were offering family meal deals too. I ordered the $23 special, which included an appetizer, biryani dish, dessert, and can of soda. I chose Manchurian Chicken, Vegetable Dum Biryani, Rasagulla, and Can of Diet Coke. My order was bagged and ready in about 15 minutes after ordering. There was enough food for 2 people to share. The Manchurian Chicken were breaded boneless chicken pieces coated in a sweet and very spicy sauce. The chicken was very chewy to eat. The Vegetable Dum Biryani had a mix of vegetables, red onion, soft basati rice with spices, good flavors. The Rasagulla had 4 soft dough balls in a clear sweet syrup. I definitely needed the Diet Coke to wash down the aftertaste of this big meal with leftovers. Overall, the food I ordered was pretty good. read more

My wife and I showed up for the buffet 12:45. We stood there with no one to greet us for about 4 minuets. Not very welcoming. Finally, a woman showed us to a table, she pointed us towards the buffet. The main dishes were lacking meat. The goat dish had mostly goat bone's not enough meat to fill a golf ball, the curry chicken had two tiny pieces of chicken. In our entire visit only the tandoor chicken was refilled. Lots of rice and sauces lacking meat. Both people who worked there had angry looks. We will never go here again. Went here tonight with the hubs. Food was great, we got Butter Chicken, Palak Paneer and naan. The food was 10/10 Service was 3/10 They were nice, but...... 1. We had to ask to order (15 min after arrival) 2. Nobody came by to check on us during meal. 3. Finished our meal, sat there waiting for 20 more minutes for our check (had to ask for, again). 4. I'm not one to complain but there were maybe 7-8 tables of patrons, 4-5 waitstaff and many customers had to request a menu, ready to order or check at the end. I ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala and Garlic naan. When I opened the container of chicken tikka masala up, the fats had separated from the oils and the sauce looked curdled. I had seen another review with the same problem as mine. I ended up just mixing it up and eating it because I had spent around $30 for those two things and was hungry. So we made it a point to come again and this time we did A la carte. We tried following: Karampodi Gobi - 5/5 Kothimeera Kodi -5/5 Bhagara Bhaingan - 5/5 Malai Kofta -4/5 Garlic Nan - 5/5 All of the dishes were very really tasty, we asked to make Malai kofta not too sweet and it was made exactly how we asked for. Bhagara Bhaingan to our surprise felt like homemade and was delicious. Both starters were on point and quantity was good to share amongst 3. Such a fantastic buffet filled with all sorts of delicious options both vegetarian and non vegetarian. I totally recommend the buffet which is a fabulous weekday lunch buffet for only 11.99. I've eaten at Peppers a number of times and have really enjoyed the food but I had to leave a critical review due to a very bad experience. I dropped by Peppers for dinner. It was quite busy and I was alone. I requested a table and the host acknowledged me. I stepped aside and waited to be seated. Ten minutes passed and another host approached me and i again asked for a table. Another employee then approached me after another 5 minutes. During this time I counted about 20 people come in, mostly families, who were seated almost immediately after tables opened. I understand that a family of 4+ are more valuable to the restaurant than a single diner so I didn't put up a fuss at first. After a fourth employee approached me and I was not seated as more families arrived I just left. I was so disappointed as I was a loyal customer, but apparently not valued. read more
