So sad. This was my husband and myself favorite Indian take out. Our comfort food. Last 2 times it's been completely different. Super oily vindaloo and the chicken wings over battered over sauced. Shahi chicken meat balls were hard and seasonings were off this time. Usually so moist and soft. They forgot our rice too so that will be the last time we will order. Excellent place for some really nice Indian food. We ordered Chilli Paneer, Gobi Manchurian, Veg Biryani and a Lassi. Chilli Paneer was quite spicy (their spice level definition seems to be Indian standard) and amazing. Easily the best of all three. Gobi Manchurian and Biryani were good as well. They also have complementary Chai which you can pour from a canister at the counter. Chai was good as well. This is a no-frills place - means the food is served in takeout boxes but if you're dining in, there are disposable cutlery available. The staff were nice and friendly. This place has a small amount of seating, but it's routinely cleaned and available first come first serve. Many folks coming in to pick up take out orders. Huge menu. All the food is good and freshly prepared with love. I recommend the onion bhaji appetizer. There is free chai to grab after your meal. Get the tacos! I got the chicken masala naan taco and it exceeded all my expectations. At first I thought it was weird, it came in a round bowl container and it looked like a salad. After digging through it, I found the chicken and there's a good portion of it. They put the naan on the bottom, layered the chicken masala (not too saucy), and then the veggie stuffs (arugula, chopped red onions, chopped red cabbage) on top. I don't know how they intended it to be eaten. I broke up pieces of the naan and made mini taco things with each kabob of chicken. Delicious! This is the kind of place where the food is the star. The dining area is adequate, let's say minimal. The wait time from when I placed my order on the self service tablet to when I got the food was longer than usual. Ordered chicken crazy kefta roll on phone. They said 20-30 minutes. When I went there after 30 minutes they hadn't even started preparing the order. This happened twice recently. The guy who took the order doesn't take the order properly. Moreover this time they put Shik kabob instead of kefta, and it was aweful (very dry). Overall the food is very good. It's not the same as the old Rasoi, but it's still good. Maybe too much cilantro. My only complaint is the kheer isn't the same as it used to be. It used to be made with rose water. Now it's saffron kheer and just not the same. read more

Over the past two years, Rasoi has become our go-to restaurant for Indian food. We do our own pick-up, but occasionally also delivery or dine-in. All the dishes we've tried are delicious. Palak paneer is our fave vegetarian dish; most of their chicken dishes are reliable; goat curry is exceptional. Many dishes come with free basmati rice. If dining in, free tea with Indian spices. We have a basic understanding of Indian food so needed some help ordering. If you know what you are doing you can order online, in advance, or at the in store kiosk. Staff were very helpful and let us order at the counter. Food is delivered to your table in to go boxes which was very good for a lunchtime meal. I had chicken tiki masala and my husband had biryani lamb with spice. He said it was awesome but very spicy... be careful on spice. I had "no spice" and it was spicy. Overall really nice meal. The sauce was fantastic, bhel was fresh and fluffy and not soaked. There was not enough papdi for the classic crunch. Ask for some extra. Next we tried. Chicken butter samosa papdi. This is more like a butter chicken as oppose to a papdi. I was lost and was craving a naan or rose with this disk. Last was their chicken swell kababs. I was staying in the area for a work event and I decided to get takeout from Rasoi! I accidentally ordered the chicken tikka instead of the chicken tikka masala so I got something a little different than I was expecting (100% my fault not the restaurants) but it ended up being delicious! To start; the food is solid but the service is horrible. We ordered one of their platters for Christmas Eve ahead of time. I placed the order at 10 am to be picked up by 6:15. When I arrived to pick up my order I was told it wasn't ready and to take a seat. I waited and waited and watched many orders be fulfilled. As we headed onto 25 minutes of waiting (at this point my company was waiting at my house), I approached the woman at the counter to ask for an estimate of when the food would be ready. She asked to see my order again and told me she just needed to put it together. I asked how long that would take as I had guests waiting (and it was now going on 30 minutes of wait time). At this point a man who seemed in charge came over, affirmed that I was order #1 of the day and confirmed I had placed my order that morning. I was told it is ready. If it was ready why such a long wait? There was no apologies or acknowledgement for our long wait and they were really quite dismissive. If you can't prepare and make an order with seven hours of lead time, then don't offer that as an option on your website. Work on customer interactions and own up when you drop the ball. On top of that our platter contained mostly sauce and very little meat- thumbs down and not worth the price. read more

Rasoi used to be my favorite place and I was so disappointed when they closed. When I heard they were reopening, I was overjoyed, especially since my new go-to was closing. Unfortunately the previous Rasoi and the new Rasoi have nothing in common. 1. The food is 'fine' at best - and I do honestly think that's a little generous. I have now been a few times, and it's not hitting the spot. The samosa was not bad, but the filling is not super flavorful. I asked for tamarind chutney and tomato-onion chutney, and the tamarind was dumped over the samosas, so they were soggy when I got back home, and I guess they don't have the onion chutney, because they just layered the bottom of the container with onion. The palak paneer was lacking in flavor and texture. The chicken tikka masala tastes basically like tomato sauce, and the chicken itself has no seasoning on it - I don't think it's marinated, and it's definitely not cooked in the tandoor (or even broiled). And, the servings are smaller than the other restaurants in the area for the same price. 2. The takeout service is okay. It's clear they are working hard, but it feels very disorganized. They are running around so much that it takes several minutes (at least on the weekends) for someone to pay attention to you. Yesterday, I was ignored in favor of other people who had arrived after me. Overall the wait time wasn't horrible, but I had placed my order online and showed up and the estimated time that the app told me, but I waited another 15 minutes to get my food, so about 30 minutes total. 3. I have not eaten in, but the concept is more like a fast casual restaurant. There's an iPad to order on, and while I was waiting for my food, I saw two different families struggle with this concept. One of the employees said he'd be over to take their order, but was too busy with the takeout order, and didn't get there as long as I was waiting for my food (15 minutes). Another person bypassed the iPad - whether it was intentional or not, I'm not sure - and went straight to the counter to order. The server said he'd go to the table in a moment to take his order, and the guy instead asked to write it down, which resulted in the server putting in that order ahead of taking the order of the families who had arrived earlier and were waiting.
