I am so excited to see that Lake Orion has an Indian food restaurant and I tried it today. I am visiting family and live out of state. I picked up food for takeout and the process was quick and easy. My elderly Dad tried Indian food for the first time today and he loved it! I ordered the butter chicken with no spice and it was perfect for him! I got the chicken tikka masala with medium spice and it was so flavorful and delicious! The garlic naan bread was a great accompaniment to our meal. The prices are very reasonable, especially if you order direct from the restaurant website and not a third party. The inside is comfy and spacious. The staff member who assisted me was friendly and helpful. My family and I will definitely be back soon! read more

As an englishman I have eaten many meals from indian restaurants, good and bad. Even though this was not the worst, I can still say that the also Gobi and the lamb Rogan Josh were without a sauce "substance".. Food tasted good but is WAY over priced for the portions. Sad little half full cartons of rice and tiny containers that consisted of mostly sauce instead of chicken. I'm very happy to see a great tasting place like this pop up out in the boonies but either lower the prices or make it worth the cost. Butter chicken slapped though! read more

Indian Heaven Cuisine - Butter chicken Garlic Naan - Indian Near Me - Orion, Michigan

Once a month one individual in our group of 3 takes turns picking a place for lunch. This month my friend chose Indian Heaven since they have enjoyed take out from here on multiple occasions. It's been 30 years since I've last eaten Indian cuisine. Not having a lot of experience with Indian cuisine I will say that the food definitely had nice depth of flavor and was the best Indian I've had. The service was friendly and the restaurant appeared pretty clean. My biggest hesitation for coming back are the following: 1. Price point-You can expect to pay $18-$20 per meal. I ordered Malai Tikka- it was about 10 pieces of cubed chicken. It was flavorful and by far the favorite of the group but it was just pieces of chicken, no rice, no bread, no sides. To add bread it is anywhere from $3-$6 more per order. I love bread, but none of the naan we ordered (we ordered 4 different types) knocked my socks off. They did have a nice selection of different flavors to choose from though. Just for perspective, we ordered several appetizers and four main dishes, 4 naans and one dessert to share. The bread came after the main dishes. The total with tip after the 25% August promotional discount was $150. I know everything is expensive these days but for the portion sizes especially with no sides with the meal-I have a hard time spending that on a lunch. 2. The wait time for our food. We went at 11:30 on a Friday, and other than 3 customers that came in for carry out ( and they all had to wait probably at least 15 minutes for their orders-not sure if they were call ahead or if they just placed it when they walked in) we were the only ones in the restaurant. From start to finish it was 2-2.5 hours that it took for lunch with no one in there except us. I don't know anyone that has that kind of time to take for lunch on a work day. 3. Ambiance-By far this not a total make or break, but there is no ambiance at all. White walls with a few random posters thrown sporadically up and cheap seating. The Subway by my house has more ambiance. I recommend using some rich colors on the walls and maybe throwing some fake green plants to warm the place up a bit. Just a suggestion. If you like Indian food and can afford the price point and time, do give this place a try. Like I said, the food did have nice, rich flavors and the staff was nice I wish them success. read more

Delicious!!! The naan was amazing and the Lamb Korma was so good! The service was kind and quick and charming! They made my wimpy friend a mild dish, and they said their butter chicken was fabulous. Mine was medium plus and it was perfect! They told us they even carry mac and cheese so you can bring your non adventurous wee ones! Going to be eating here all the time! my dad and I came here for a little butter chicken craving and oh my gosh... i honestly think this was the best Indian food I've EVER had and the portions are an amazing size! Tried this tonight for quick dinner, ordered online very easy, picked up and it smelt amazing on drive home. But then it went down hill! Naan bread was dry and crispy, clearly reheated. The biriyani wasn't great stodgy rice not much flavor, and the yoghurt was very running! The Madras and Butter chicken were fine and spice level good. It's a Saturday night after Christmas which may have been bad timing to order, but it didn't convince me to make this a regular take out option. read more

I was excited when I heard about this Indian restaurant. I've tried it twice, and time I wasn't impressed. Both times I get chicken dishes, asked for 'hot' spice. Chicken was chewy, flavors were bland. I could deal with both if the place wasn't overpriced. Way too much for below average Indian food. Plus dining there isn't much nicer than eating at Subway. When spending 20+ for an entree I'd expect a nicer place to eat and much better food quality. Sorry for such a sad report. read more

I dined in here for the first time with my girlfriend recently. We had the Gobi Manchurian, Nav Ratan Korma, Saag Paneer, and some garlic naan. Our food was delicious and perfectly spiced. The Gobi Manchurian and Saag were especially great. They are a little more expensive than other indian places in the area, but the food was very good. My only complaint is the ambiance of the restaurant. The decor is very basic and the same song seemed to play on a loop the entire time we were there. I like hearing Indian music in an Indian restaurant, but not when it's the same song over and over. Overall, the food and service was good and I will likely come back, but for carry out next time. read more

I had the pleasure of trying this new place today and was wonderfully satisfied. We started with the Onion Bahji appetizer which was quite good. The chutneys were fantastic! My parents each got a different rice dish which they both seemed pleased with. I got the Karahi and I'm so happy I did! Since moving back to Michigan, I've been looking for a Karahi that's as good as the one I used to get in California and I finally found it! Can't wait to go back and get it again! Food was decent, however very small portions and expensive. The Hadai Chicken and Manchurian Chicken were good. The Choley Batura had a bit too much masala in it, but overall was decent.
