The pool is very well maintained and deceiving. It was built in the early-mid 60's, but sports an upgraded score board for swim meets.. There is a balcony area for spectators that has bench seating. The balcony is used for any swim meets in the facility and is part of the old area. Locker rooms are available which begins the new section of the building along with the Rec Center. Parking is reserved in the outside lots, however meter parking is also available. The chlorine utilized in the pool is UV, or ultraviolet which is a cleaner type of material than regular chlorine used in most public pools. You will not have the heavy smell of traditional chlorinated pools. During the ODU swim season it is reserved early AM (unsure when they conclude) and weekdays 3-5 PM. Tidewater Aquatic Club (TAC) has the pool reserved on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 5-8 PM. Parking is reserved in the outside lots, however meter parking is also available. I will add photos of the pool another time, I was not allowed to take photo's while TAC had swimmers in the pool. In the Summer the pool is utilized for ODU Swim camps and Big Blue Camps. It has been long speculated that a new pool will be built on campus, at this point there is no time table. However, the area where a new pool would be built is across the street from the current facility most likely. Cross you fingers at some time in the next 5 years ODU will be able to sport a brand new aquatics facility.

The men's locker room however often smells. This is most likely due to carpet on the floor that gets wet. They also have locker rooms for faculty/staff ONLY. They have the same floor plan as the other, but are much, much cleaner. The pool is utilized by VWC faculty/staff, club swimmers and high schools. The pool is the location for H.S. swim meets during season. VWC does NOT have a swim team. No one else can use this pool unless you are authorized. Nice pool and very convenient for my son to swim at. If I had to choose it would not be my first choice of where my son can select to swim. Keep in mind there is a guard gate when entering the college that you need to check into.

We had 3 in our group and were paired up with a single which worked out nicely. They were having some issues with their card machine but it was worked out by the time we got to the turn. Course was forgiving, mostly open although they had some water throughout and mature trees which made for some scenic holes. Greens were mostly in good shape. They have a driving range and a decent sized putting green. Prices were reasonable at about $50 per person including rental clubs. They have a small grill that offered a light breakfast and lunch and some goods/equipment for sale in the pro shop. Course attendant was friendly and as well all in the Pro shop. A good option about 15 minutes from the beach (35th)

Let me first off say look at the pics I took, it is a beautiful course. I was very impressed that the base can support and maintain something this nice. At the same time our men and women in the military deserve it and much more. Upon walking up to the entrance I did notice that power washing was needed on the white brick as it was turning light green with run off from above trees. Lobby had nice carpeting and paint on the wall that was presentable. The Pro area was nice and appears they have what you need. A sale was going on to close out many items at cost. The concessions area was HUGE and had a TV. An outdoor eating area was right off the inside concessions area. They were serving a lunch buffet on this day. Men's room had a foul odor and badly needed updating with some medal areas rusting. They do offer a driving range with around 10-12 spaces. Parking at the facility is tight when busy. I would love to come back and play the course with it beautiful rolling hills, big trees that hang over the fairways and well manicured greens. Good job Eagle Haven maintenance crew.

My entire family has benefited from numerous programs during our 13 years as residents of the beach. I've had some unique insight as a bit of an insider, but I am not nor have I ever been employed by the City Parks & Rec. This full 5 star review is of course based on the awesome new facility just completed this past Winter. However, I would be remiss in not including that this building represents the entire system. That's all of the 1,200 dedicated employees including landscape. I was disappointed to not attend the grand opening and tour in February, but did get the recent opportunity to visit earlier this month. I have been watching construction of the 11.7 million 28,500 LEED structure located at Princess Anne Commons for over a year. The one month delay due to weather conditions postponed the movement of around 115 employees that had previously been spread out. The building has been a huge bucket list item for the department for well over a decade. According to PR Director Julie Braley "this has been a long time coming". The building consolidated all of the cities parks & recreation offices minus landscape. The facility which utilized environmentally sensitive materials to gain LEED certification is an attractive structure that's partially hidden from the main road. A majority of the parking is utilized for employees. There is visitor parking and it's marked. The space boast a large meeting room that can accommodate approximately 75 with media hook ups for presentations. There's also smaller conference rooms that have flat screen TV's. Residents of the City of Virginia Beach should rejoice at the resources poured into this dream project. The city has a premiere administration facility we can all be proud of. Thank you to the city for investing in our parks & recreation infrastructure.

There is nothing that is overly exciting to me about Club Brittany. This is a pool only, no other…read moreservices are offered and the complex is in need of improvements. The pool is located in a nice 1960-70's residential area. I am unsure when the CB complex was built, but if I had to guess in mid 70's and looks it too. Getting the area can be complicated without directions since it is so far off the beaten path. Off of Great Neck Rd. turn on Inlynview Rd. and go approximately two miles to Five Point Rd. and make a left and travel to the dead end and arrive at the pool straight ahead. Parking is almost zilch at the pool. There is some limited parking in a grass area by a storage shed to the right by an abandoned basketball court. The majority of event parking is going to be street only which ends up going down the road over a mile. Once you arrive at the pool you will walk down a steep hill to the area. The complex is located off of a body of water, however I don't know what it is. The water closest to the entrance is stagnant and looks swampy. It also creates an environment for mosquitoes on warm evenings. Bring bug spray. The wooden blue building that houses restrooms is the first building you will see. The larger building beside it houses storage, concessions. Neither one are falling down by any stretch, but they are not great shape. The pool is rectangular with a bump out for a 5 meter spring board. This is the only pool among VBSL teams that I am aware of offering a high dive. This makes it very desirable for children and for good reason. The high dive is one of the biggest draws the pool has. The small deck is a combination of concrete close to the road and wood beside the body of water. There is also deck to the far end as you enter, just not very much of it making for chaotic dual swim meets when larger teams are competing. The pool offers a five lane 25 meter course for competition. At the shallow end around 4 ft deep, under the diving area approximately 10 feet. The pool is now open and ready for members, swim team practices and meets . Club Brittany is a member of the Virginia Beach Swim League and are the "Blue Tide: I only know one of the coaches who is awesome. They are lucky to have Carol Withus hopefully on staff again who is the ODU Swimming and Diving Head Coach. I have not heard to date if she is returning, but believe she will. A warming to parents with small children that cannot swim. The body of water just outside of the pool is not supervised by staff. YOU must watch you children, the water is only a few feet, but enough to cause a tragedy. Children that can swim should never play in this area. The water is disgustingly murky. The club needs facility upgrades to bring it up to par. However, it is up and going and meets my minimum standards and is safe. If I resided in the neighborhood this pool would be a great choice due to it's proximity.

I just love the fact the Virginia Beach has all of these neighborhood parks sprinkled every where…read morearound the city. This parked is located just off Witchduck Rd. and beside Aragona Village Presbyterian Church. It has NO affiliation with the church other than they nicely assist with debris luck up. The city maintains it. So what you will find is a fully equipped playground with swings in a nicely manicured bed of mulch. A picnic shelter, a full court basketball court and plenty of field for kids to run around in. The playground equipment is for 12&U. What you won't find are restroom facilities. The church cannot be used. I found the park immaculate. Not the smallest piece of debris. Parking is plentiful in a gravel lot adjacent to the park. These little recreational gems are every where at the beach. Enjoy them, our tax dollars support.

I took my little nephew here when I saw that the kids park at Mount Trashmore was under renovation…read more I chose this park because it was close by. He loved the playground and despite being an almost toddler, he was still able to navigate the park. He really enjoyed climbing things and going down all of the slides (especially the swirly one). The park was well kept and clean, and big enough to share with multiple kids of all ages. I will definitely be taking him back in the future!
