We visited Indian River Furniture Wednesday May 7 looking for family room furniture. We found something we liked but weren't quite ready to buy. (We took pictures of the furniture and price tags.) Our sales associate told us to wait until the Memorial Day Sale. Which we did. Today we visited them again during the "Memorial Day Sale", ready to buy, and found they had a "price increase" in the last week and so the "Memorial Day Sale" prices were more than the pre-sale prices were last week. They offered an "only today price match offer" but didn't include a "Memorial Day Discount". We didn't buy. They clearly jack up their prices right before a "SALE EVENT". We'll go back to see if their prices go back to pre-sale prices. read more

Their products are from reputable companies and they stand behind your purchases. Their delivery personnel are outstanding--they are courteous, obliging, and clean up after all the unpacking and installation is completed. In January they took an over $4000 deposit from us and quoted delivery for our bedroom set in March. We came in with an interior designer who works with them sometimes and built our entire bedroom around this bedroom set for thousands more than that (paint/drapes/pencil trim/carpet/decor/etc). The sales girl knew we were building the look of the room around this furniture and again, quoted delivery in March which would have coincided with the rest of our design work. Well, our interior designer finished our bedroom in April. It's July now and the bedroom set is still not delivered. And each time we call it gets pushed back at least a month. My husband called today and was told by the manager it won't be delivered now until September 15th. So when does this end? I suppose Indian River Furniture expects we should wait around for a few years? Or maybe they are just hoping we'll forget we ordered it? Beyond this though... Indian River Furniture has NEVER called to let us know delivery has been pushed back. Each and every month we have to call in and wait (usually a day or two) for a call back to be told (yet again) delivery has been pushed back. Again I have to remember to pick up the phone, and then I have to wait a day or two for someone to call me back and tell me it's been delayed another month or two. And on Every. Single. Call back... This company does not take responsibility for their lack of communication or practices... Instead they blame this situation on Covid and their furniture vendor. Yet they make zero effort to communicate proactively with us our their vendor regarding the furniture we ordered and paid a $4k deposit on 7 months ago. I sincerely regret going to this furniture store- this has been a colossal waste of my time. If you (Indian River Furniture) are using furniture vendors who can't accurately give delivery quotes or who won't answer your calls and help in situations like this then you really shouldn't be doing business with them. And if you (Indian River Furniture) take thousands of dollars in deposits from your customers you SHOULD keep those customers informed when delivery gets pushed back and make every effort to ensure they get what they paid for. Get a clue and learn how to operate your business professionally. And for the love of god stop blaming Covid for your inability to run your business like an actual business. It's July 2022, these excuses are no longer reasonable to anyone on planet earth. Lazy companies who don't try to find solutions to their problems (like yours) are the problem behind any lingering furniture shortage issues at this point-not Covid. Before grabbing your 50% deposit you could inform customers in advance of potential delays. If all else fails you could see if you could find them something similar and place another order with a manufacturer who is better able to deliver. There are solutions that would help keep customers happy if you cared to look for them. But that's really the overall point here...I don't get even the slightest impression that your company cares at all. I'm not one to write reviews but this company's practices are absolutely unacceptable and borderline fraudulent. Do not do business with this company if you have any desire to actually have furniture delivered to your home. read more

Working with Andrea Zgonc at Indian river furniture is a total disaster. She plotted my living room out to scale on computer diagram / paper & it looked great, it all fit . She obviously doesn't understand scale of furniture. (She just wants to sell it ). None of the furniture fit or worked in the room when it arrived . The end tables would have never fit nor the coffee table. Everything was on top of each other in the room. Where' you could not even walk between any of it . The sofa and 2 chairs were way too large , but if you look on the diagram she produced it worked fine . She came to my house when furniture arrived with the movers . She refused to admit she was wrong . ( I will show all pics in next review) . I also bought a 9x 12 rug for the room for $2400 , she told me it was wool . It arrived & its polyester and viscose . It's a cheapo rug . Looks cheap . I can buy this on Amazon or rugs.com or home goods for $499 or less !! At my house, as my husband as a witness , Andrea said ....."I know you THOUGHT IT WAS WOOL" what's? So she lied to me !! Do NOT SHOP HERE PLEASE . They took all the furniture back except the rug , they said it was special order . That is bs . They bought it from a warehouse . It was not custom cut for me . 9x12 rugs/ polyester are not custom cut !! Mr Tigwell ( manger) will not take it back . I'm stuck with this cheapo polyester rug for $2,400. Also they delivered a dining room cabinet which was the showroom floor model . Andrea Zgonc lied and said it was new . Well the showroom floor cabinet door was not closing and it was the same one they delivered !! I also saw it gone from the floor so it WAS FROM THE FLOOR , the broken one !! . I told her the door is broken just like the one on their floor was . She literally lied to my face and blamed it in my floors ( guess saying they were crooked floors in my house ) . They took it back . 7 years ago I bought a dinning table that is cracked now down the middle . It crack really quickly. I told Mr Tigwell and he said well it 7 yrs old. well he should put a sign up on the showroom floor table that's states "this table will last under 7 yrs" see how much he sells that table . We have no kid or grandkids and ate at that table 4 times . We were snow birds for the 7 yrs and had a house watcher come once a month to check AC ect . Mr tigwell ( manager blamed the crack on my house temp . Again no one takes accountability. They blame your floors, house temp etc . she also lies and tells you she will move tv unit to proper place after new sofa and furniture arrived. Via delivery men, meaning they can slide unit . Then runs out the door literally saying we can't for insurance purposes . I moved all nic nacs off and stuff to spare room so it can move easily . So she lies. She wants sell and leave you stuck. Another thing is she only shows me stuff off the showroom floor, nothing from the catalogs or computer . Very strange . I have a bedroom to purchase and an office too . I kept asking her anything in a bedroom set you can show me ?, many times . She just sends pictures from floor models . Why? I wonder ? Baers furniture took me to a computer catalog and showed me all of Hooker furniture, tommy bahama stuff but Andrea acts like she has no access to the catalogs etc & strictly sells off the show room floor . So I was limited and can't find a special bedroom set . The only piece I kept was the Stressless chair . Indian river lost the sale of bedroom living room and office . I'm moving on .please do not shop with Andrea Z . I will contacting owner Forrest Lilly about the rug . I should not be stuck with a polyester RUG !! At that outrageous price . We purchased the Stressless collection by Ekornes in 2006. Since we bought a custom colored wood it took a couple of months to receive it. But custom always take a while. There is NO Regret waiting so long. Worth every minute waiting and every dollar spent. It is cream colored leather and survived our Dogo puppy and the baby growing up in our house. It is used everyday by all family members and the furniture still looks almost new. It survived our friend spilling her spaghetti on it, the dog jumping on it and the everyday laying on it while watching TV. Since then, we grew older and wanted to have higher legs for those family members that had trouble with the lower furniture. Indian River Furniture gave us new higher legs for the sofas free of charge even after all the years we had the furniture. It is worth working with a local company and you cannot replace the service you get from this company. 5 stars all the way. You will not regret it. read more

I called to talk to Jeremy, the manager. I had a complaint about my Omni leather couch, and chair that was purchased in 2020, but received in January 2021. We purchased the warranty. The cost was over $8,000.00. The leather is sagging, the reclining mechanism makes a terrible noise. We sent it back to the factory, still no improvement. We've had technicians come out three times. The last one recorded the noise when it reclined....Jeremy said "all leather couches and chairs that are leather on leather make that noise." He also added that his "kids laughed at the sound." ...because it sounds like farts! I don't believe that all leather furniture makes noise. He will do nothing. We are not finished with the poor customer satisfaction, Jeremy. My husband and I strongly urge customers to avoid purchasing leather furniture from the Indian River Furniture store. read more

I would have loved to give Indian River because they produced beautiful custom furniture for us....needless to say, we just moved and had to furnish nearly our entire house! It took 4-7 months to get our furniture...and to some extent, I understand given the CoVID pandemic. That being said, their communication with the customer is HORRIBLE! I never knew when my furniture was coming...my furniture orders were split amongst several deliveries and I was never sure how much I owed or if I was overpaying....I was very frustrated this year. I suggest you watch the salespeople like a hawk. The chair I thought I was buying was not the one they delivered. I'm out 2600 plus for a chair I never ordered or tried out. I went to the store and asked them what happened. I made no demands. When it became obvious, within seconds, that they were going to blow me off I turned to leave and The salesperson Steve actually followed me to the front of the store shouting "You're a liar" twice. I couldn't believe it. I would never patronize a store like this again. I know this is Florida, but get real. I'm a seventy year old woman and I have to put up with this kind of treatment? Unbelievable! I wish I could get some kind of revenge but there's nothing I can do that wouldn't cause me more stress and these people aren't worth it. What a horrible experience. Andrea helped me select new seating to compliment furnishings I purchased previously. There is a great Memorial Day sale and I'm going back today to take another look at one of my upholstery choices. Andrea is most knowledgeable and accommodating. The place is large with tons of choices but what means the most to me is their willingness to order pieces and show me all the gorgeous possibilities in fabrics. I find IRF to be a laid back shopping experience BUT when you're ready for help with choosing your fabrics, selecting fabric grades, getting price points and putting your ideas together, your salesperson is there for the duration with full service decorating support and creative ideas. Our designer, Andrea Zgonc, is the reason for the five star review! We just moved to Florida and were remodeling our condo and needed all new furniture. Andrea came out, looked at our space and came up with an incredible design. We ran into many delays because of Covid and while updates from IRF weren't great, Andrea more than made up for their deficiencies. The free design service that IRF offers was one of the reasons we went there but we really weren't expecting much. Then we met Andrea and saw how talented she was and we were sold. Not quite sure why you are even assigned a sales person when you walk in the store as all she did was immediately turn us over to Andrea, the designer. Our condo turned out INCREDIBLE!!! Very disappointed. This was one of our go-to stores for that last 30 years and have purchased many pieces of furniture over that time. We went searching for a specific bedroom suite. They actually had it on the floor with the exact pieces we wanted. They told us it would be an order that would take 7 months. (Every other store I checked with was 3-4 months and one had it on order already, so about 6 weeks.) I asked about purchasing all the floor pieces that matched. Our sales rep (BH) said the manager was out of town and no one could approve that for 4 days. What? No one in charge? So we waited 4 days and I contacted the sales rep to see what the manager said. She said the Manager, Jeremy said no. I know they don't like to sell floor pieces, but thought it might work, especially when we were also looking at high end King mattresses. The next day we went to another store and purchased them spending over $13,000. They didn't even try to get our business by giving order options/details or a following up after. I guess they prefer we spend our money somewhere else. read more

The sales person was helpful finding the furniture we chose and we still like it. However, the saleswoman back in Nov 2017 claimed by purchasing the warrantee contract we would be able to wait until the end of the 5 year contact period to report any nicks on our dining room chairs or table that accumulated over the entire period. This would save having to have someone come out multiple times to make repairs over the term of the contract. When contacting Montage furniture services (Furniture First Protection Plan) March 31st 2022 we were told an email would arrive within 2-3 days to help us set up an appointment for the repairs. After receiving no email or correspondence at all, we called back on April 8th and were told the damage had to have occurred within 30 days of filing a claim. Big difference from what the saleswoman originally represented. NEVER use Montage Furniture Services (Furniture First Protection Plan). Representatives offering their services in stores, perhaps without intent, misrepresent the value of this warranty and the services you will receive, setting you up for disappointment. Read the online reviews of this company first and the contract carefully with a mind that if it is not specifically included in the contract as represented in the store, it probably will not be honored and just a waste of money. read more

There were end tables I wanted which they said were unavailable but I contacted the manufacturer and it was worked out. The decorator/sales person was helpful but not hovering. I went in last weekend and bought two bar stools from the clearance corner, they only had one on display, but said they had one in the warehouse. When I went to pick the second one up they could not find it. Without any hesitation, they asked if they ordered a new one, but explained that I would have to wait and they were really sorry. Owner finally responded to my review only to act as if i know nothing about furniture or what quarter sawn oak is. I have had numerous pieces of quality furniture including high quality quarter sawn oak. What was delivered to our house may technically be quartersawn but i maintain it was taken from a scrap pile and in no way is what was represented to us by the sales people at Indian River. It looks nothing like the pictures in the catalog. The reason i didn't want them to replace the top is we would have been waiting another 6-9 months and given the bad quality of the first one i had no idea what we would receive. mr. lilly fails to mention them delivering a cracked top in hopes i wouldn't notice, nor does he mention i asked for store credit so we could find something more in line with what we were looking for but no one would work with us. I have bought alot of stuff in my life and this store is the worst i have ever dealt with. read more
