I have had some great service here, but was extremely disappointed when I showed up 15 minutes from close to refill my propane tank so I could cook my family dinner but they "had already locked it up", and were unwilling to help I. What would have only taken a few minutes. I hope they were able to have a nice dinner w their family. They lost this customer. read more

This is our local hardware store and I frequent them a lot. The selection is great and tailored for things you need when living near the ocean. The staff have always been pleasant and very helpful, especially Dave who will tell you all about "his island" if you let him know you are new to the area and then make you a "caretaker" along with him to keep CB clean and beautiful! They often have good sales and I recommend getting the ACE Rewards card as they send us good coupons often. This is a great alternative to driving 10 miles to the nearest "big hardware store" and I always check here first. Almost always they will have what I need at a good price. read more

Always the best, warm, friendly service. Yesterday I started a DIY Just project which evolved removing the rear seat of my jeep. I had a ratchet wrench to remove hardware but was lacking strength to loosen screws and lugnuts. Jim B not only helped me find a pipe to add leverage for my ratchet, but also followed me outside to my Jeep and loosened the bolts I needed enough so that I could complete my project. Singularly bad customer service experience, here, this morning. Cashier directed me to rear of store, telling me that she would call back and have someone meet me there to assist; didn't do. Found my items, proceeded to check out, was denied my military discount and chastised for using the "wrong" exit door --- the one directly in front of me. In all, one person's lousy attitude prompts this equivocal review. Management should take some lessons from their Cape Canaveral and Satellite Beach counterpart stores. read more

I have always gotten knowledgable & courteous service from all their staff. But yesterday (7/13) I took a set of keys in to get 2 more sets. Brian looked at the keys before just cutting them and noticed 1 was a duplicate, I hadn't noticed. He saved me the cost of a key, no big deal, but he was paying attention to what the customer needed not what was asked for. Way to go Brian! Way to go Ace. read more

Disappointing experience. Had few extra sheets of plywood (unused) and asked if I could just exchange them against purchase of a different type of plywood. Was told NO EXCHANGES and NO REFUNDS. Completely unwilling to help. I'm all for local businesses and have used ACE for years, but this experience will change that. If you can't have a reasonable working relationship with your local hardware store you may as well have it with the big box store. read more

Usually fairly helpful place but after today, realize it's just easier to make the trip to Home Depot. Late in the day on a Sunday, I think I was the only customer in the place. While I wandered around the aisles looking for an item, 4 employees passed me by and didn't once ask if I needed help. I tried approaching a couple of staff but they were busy chatting with each other. The comments about this placing being rude are valid. I've had exceptional service at this store on occasion but it seems that's not the norm. As I was leaving, I did comment to the cashier that I didn't appreciate the lack of service. She just looked at me and didn't even offer to help and just let me walk out. Think the owners, management and staff are taking their local support for granted. Sure it's the only game in town but when owners let their stores operate like this, they need to be called out on it. read more

I'm forced to try to shop the Ace location because I live near close, no more. Zero customer service. I stood in line patiently, and had two out of three cashiers wave someone else to their counter. I went from first in line to number 3? These folks just don't seem to care, most of the time. Every now and then you'll catch them on a good day, when its really slow... You have constantly chase someone down for help, and this store is small. I'm afraid this fish stinks from the head down. read more

I went to this Ace Hardware to find some pvc pipe to use to plumb my aquarium. I was approached by a staff member who I asked for advice on pipe size and adhesive. I was told "Look, I don't have time to help you play erector set. We're closing soon.". While I understood the sentiment (I like to get off of work too!), I found his demeanor, condescension, and rudeness to be unacceptable. As a result, I've not returned to this establishment again. read more
